105 pcs out of 160 received were badly broken and this is for my friends Wedding candy table. This candy was obviously broken prior to shipment. It was packed inside smaller boxes and then bubble wrapped in a larger box. This did not occur during shipment. This company is obviously running a scam by selling broken candy. When I informed OldTimeCandy of the badly damaged candy, this is the response I received: We do our best to pack it but we cannot offer refunds or returns. Unfortunately stick candy breakage is not included with the shipping insurance. Thanks for your candy order.
Who knew you needed to consider shipping insurance for a candy purchase. Now that's covering your tracks! There's goes my hard earned money out the door. What a shame this company feels it's acceptable to rip off honest people.
I feel like I'm in the wrong place showing for reviews. Add a horrible experience shopping with old time Candy. Product showed up in unprotected packaging and I had a $53 melted ball that was not even recognizable. When I reached out to the Company customer service were rude and unhelpful. Just never believe there was still customer service like this anywhere anymore
This company has been scamming people offering coupons if you pay full price on certain items. But then when you do it, the coupons are only good for 5 days and they're out of most of the things that you're looking to buy. So these coupons are totally useless! They could care less if you feel cheated😡😡
Here's a great website to check out, oldtimecandy.com. If you'd like to get ahold of your favorite candies from the past, you won't be disappointed. At this website the wholesale retro candy can be purchased by types, decades, and occasions. You can pack a bag, with your own personal favorites or purchase a decade box, which is jammed packed with assorted candies from that era; in either a 2lb. Size at $23.99 or 4lb. Size at $35.99. They also offer candy gifts, party favors and even retro toys. Shipping is a flat-rate $9.95 to any continental US location. I ordered a gift box for my little nephew containing candy and some of the retro toys, it arrived at the designated time stated, and in excellent condition. My sister and her family loved it! She wanted to know where I purchased it. Why not check it out, see what you think?
Received obviously old merchandise. Gumballs were hard and brittle. Speckled discoloration on outside shell that shows old product without having to chew it.
Received my order today. Such a walk down memory lane! The candy was fresh and delicious. Thank you for Including the mints. My son was excited to try the candy I had as a child. Thank you!
The candy I wanted is out of stock most of the time. My 1st order and UPS can't find it. The company states once the UPS investigation is over, they will either refund or resend. IN the meantime, my gift, to my family member is at a loss and a 2 part surprise didn't happen. There was a reason it was a 2 part gift. The company wants to wait to see. The company forces you to add insurance and ice packs in the package. It is enforced by them. So will my chocolates arrive melted? Shouldn't the company know this and pass the information on to me? One would hope it should be discussed in the email to the customer instead of a snide and snippy remark about the investigation only being opened in the last 20 minutes. The customer service agent lied and told me he/she can view the package moving. But yet, the customer service agent did not verify with UPS at all when making the statement. This is piss poor customer service. A new package should have gone out asap and the Company should have started the investigation right away. They only offer UPS for delivery. The attitude of the customer service agent lacks professional customer service skills. I am very disappointed the company does not take action, and the email sent to the 1st time customer isn't taken serious. The company should take it very serious their product is lost and the customer's gift is not sent in a timely manner. I would not recommend doing business with this company. There is no compassion for the customer and none for their own company. My gift is no where to be found and UPS can not locate this package. It is hard for me to understand how UPS does not have it logged in to its whereabouts. Save yourself the hassle and order somewhere else.
Answer: I think it is because they are so rude and would not help me with my order issues.
