It's sometimes quicker to order online and have them deliver to your business; so much more convenient than shopping in store. But, certain items come in certain packaging so if you're looking to only buy 1-2 of items may not be convenient and sometime item is not available at all online so you have to go to store. The link to rewards program easy to access on site and get info or copies of coupons/discounts to show cashier at check out. NO need to print out anything.
I started me plumbing business 3 years ago and on a whim swung in to get some cheap and easy business cards. Ended up ordering custom designed cards also and have reordered twice more. One of my orders had a typo and they re did the whole order at no charge and was quick about it. Also some invoices had some smudges on the printing and they re ordered them and let me keep the bad ones! Great service.
After 5 times with customer service and 3 missed delivery dates, I am still waiting on a refund, which took 2 weeks to process, and am told it will take 2 more weeks for it to arrive in my account. Each customer service agent I spoke with either blamed the courier, the weather, or bank. Office Depot took no responsibility for any of these issues. I will never recommend delivery of any products from Office Depot. If you have an issue, you'll just have to deal with it.
Ordered a Lenovo laptop and got same day free delivery for the Christmas holiday. Instead 2 Dell monitors were delivered. Called customer service and they ordered a new one for me but I had to wait several days for delivery now or go to store to pick up. Was double charged for the laptop. 2 calls to customer service (and waiting on hold excessively each time) and 7 days later still waiting for my card to be credited for the double charge. Funny how the card gets charged right away but takes so long to credit the card.
I purchased a laptop which was on sale online and they had in stock according to their page. Order #: *******-001. Next morning I received a letter cancelling my purchase because "it is out of stock". My bank account had already been debited. I called to ask for the return of my money as I need a new laptop urgently and cannot afford to make two payments and they said this would happen five days from now. Too fast to debit and too slow to credit with no regard to my situation. I feel this practice of advertising what is not real, causes harm to buyers who, like in my case, I do need a new laptop asap and do not have the money to debit my account twice while I wait for the return of my money.
ORDER WITH CAUTION! I typically use a different office supply store but I used Office Depot to order supplies and paper for my office. They claimed (3) boxes of paper were delivered and signed for by "Chris". We DO NOT HAVE an employee named Chris and neither do any of the other (3) offices in my building.
When I first called in CS was very nice and apologized and issued a refund right away... then the refund was cancelled... a second call, more wasted time stating the same info... another refund issued... then CANCELLED again. Third call... asked immediately to speak to a supervisor (4) times before the CS rep finally laughed and said she would "see if someone was available"! I have been on hold for (15) minutes already... this is BS!
I am in the process of renovating my home office. I found a desk that was perfect online from Office Depot. I went to the local store to find that the desk was marked "Delivery Only." So, I ordered the desk online. Office Depot charged my credit card at the time of order and promised the desk within days. They missed several delivery dates. After hours on the phone with their customer service people, I was promised delivery today. They delivered a printer cartridge labeled as a desk. Again, I called customer service. They said the desk was not available and I would have to wait until the printer cartridge was back in their warehouse before I would receive a refund. I reported the transaction as fraud to my credit card company and ordered the desk from Amazon.
Life is too short for the incompetence of Office Depot. Order from Amazon. Office Depot should hire whoever trains employees for Amazon and/or Capital One. Do better, Office Depot!
Ordered bunch of stuff from them, they never failed me. Love their selection, prices, and the speed of delivery. They're spot on! Hope they'll keep up with their business increasing and handle the customer care like they're doing now.
Just went to Office Depot with a stapler I purchased within the last month that I was unable to open to put staples in…. The sales clerk was not helpful at all…. He was not able to resolve the problem and did not offer any alternative. Left the store very dissatisfied! Extremely POOR customer service! Amazon or Staples, you are now my go to store.
I have been buying the same paper for 3 years and the price has eased up from $30 to $38. Two weeks ago I paid $38. Today, started to buy another box and it is now $88! How does that happen in 2 weeks? I am shocked and appalled.
When I received the HP Laser Printer 118, I tried to print but it would not stay on. This problem rendered it unusable. The installation disk was also missing. I believe the "new" printer was actually a return with missing parts that was repackaged. The Office Depot refused the return both online and at their Boston store (suggested by their tech department).
I regularly order from Office Depot/Office Max with the use of the periodic coupon savings they offer. For the most part, I have been highly satisfied. If a mistake is made, they are very good at resolving the issue. Delivery is outstanding.
I have been a customer of Office Depot for years. Tried to log in today to place an order. Saved password from my computer did not work and could not reset it. Finally called. No option to speak to anyone. Called another number and was told that I was not allowed to have access to the website. (I have never been a "bad" customer. No bounced checks. Credit card always good, etc. No returns. Never rude to anybody.) Rep would have to manually give me access. (?) You know what? Went to Amazon and it took 4 minutes for me to order the pens and tablets I needed for my office for delivery tomorrow.
We are very disappointed in the invoices we had made for our business. Because they are affiliated with Office Depot we thought the quality would be good. This is NOT the case. We ordered invoices for our company and all they did was take a blank invoice and stamp our company name on the top. It's not even straight. I could've paid an employee to do that and they would have done a better job plus it wouldn't have cost us over $100.00. When I called them about it not being straight they said no refunds, too bad. Because they were NOT willing to work with us on this we found another company on line that not only created a custom invoice for our company but actually printed our company name on each invoice, Not a CROOKED STAMP and they were half the price. My advise is keep the expectation low.

Office Depot has always been fine going in and shopping but I ordered a desk and shelf about a month ago. I've been calling almost daily for two weeks now because my email says it's "out for delivery" but then never comes. They even claimed they tried to "drop it off" even though I was there the whole day. I'm still waiting for it and everyone keeps making up excuses for where it is or why it's not here yet. Absolute garbage customer service and I've talked to 6 people now. All lying and "guaranteeing" my package will be here by the end of the day. Wouldn't even give it a one star cause they don't deserve it
Outstanding. Easy. Great service and products. Not the cheapest, but my time is valuable and I don't choose to spend it endlessly comparing prices, haggling with horrible customer service people after I've been on hold for 20+ minutes waiting to be helped. Zappo's is my first choice.
I will never use any printing service from this company! I placed an online order for a wedding printable and Office Depot canceled my item for no reason whatsoever. They could never give a straight answer to why the order was canceled. I tried to speak with a customer service representative (30 minute call) to resolve the issue with no success. I asked to speak to the manager, but she was "in a meeting". This company is not reputable.
I needed a simple printing job. So I jumped online and placed an order online to pick up my copies at 7:00 pm. Instead of waiting for the notification email to arrive, saying the order was ready for pick up, I decided to drive to the store that i chose to "save time". However, It is 7:33 pm and here I am waiting for the email. I contacted them through the chat to let them know I was here and to find out about the status of my order. But it was useless. I had to get out of the car and went into the store m, only to find out that there is only one person at the printing desk and there is a queue of 10 people in front of me. They advertise the printing service as "skip the line by ordering online". Well, don't waste your time. The only reason why I gave them two stars is because their printing website was very easy to use.
Needed to replace my HP inkjet printer (4 years of hard use... it stopped spraying cyan ink). Rather than going online, I went to my nearby OD/OM store to examine closely what they had. Found one for less $$ than I spent on the previous printer 4 years earlier, that did everything I needed. The sales/service techs were outstandingly reassuring, explaining how to hook everything up, corrected my replacement ink purchase with the correct ones (my bad), and even gave me their cards if I had any trouble hooking it up! Outstanding service and a selection that totally met my needs! Hooking it to my computer was easy-peasy, too, even for this senior citizen! Didn't need to call them except to let them know it worked! When I moved the old one away, I found the old receipt taped to it - same store, four years earlier to the month! Customer loyalty - that's me... HP printers at OD/OM!
