New York Times Reviews Summary

The company has garnered mixed feedback, with some customers praising the quality of its journalism and the depth of its reporting across various topics. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, with many reviewers expressing frustration over billing issues, lack of responsiveness, and generic responses to complaints. The perception of biased reporting and dissatisfaction with subscription practices also contribute to a negative sentiment. I am so disappointed in the New York Times subscription service at this time of COVID-19. I had a subscription which I canceled due to closing my bank account. I was assured, in writing, that my account would be good until the end of the month. They lied. NYT closed my account and are refusing to deliver the paper, saying they will issue a refund (to a closed account)! It takes 2 weeks. HA HA! How long did it take them to take my money out of my account? 2 minutes.

Relentless polarization
November 7, 2020

The NY Times relentlessly polarizes us at a time when the US needs to be brought together. Half truths, spin and Pulitzer arrogance so brilliantly weave a path to irrelevance. What a waste.

Sadly, the NY Times has devolved into a news organization where competent reporting is non existent. Their hatred of President Trump overrides any concern for accurate reporting. Years ago, we used to cite freedom of the press as a guardian of democracy decrying foreign news media as nothing more than propaganda. That's what the Times has become. The role they play in misinformation harms the public and democracy and should be punishable by law.

Online Subscription
June 23, 2020

Don't subscribe because it's extermely difficult and a waste of time to unsubscribe. They have no easy way to unsubscribe. So don't bother. It's unfortunate regarding this. It's been hell. Big waste of time trying to get off the site. Call and you wait an hour or more. Text nobody responds... online chat. They tell you to call or text. So based on this I don't recommend. Find another news paper and check out their unsubscribe methods before you invest...

Impossible to access their articles without their glorious paywall. As a subscriber, getting my card canceled after the subscription period was close to impossible. The worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life.

No fake news!
April 29, 2020

Nowadays it is difficult to find good journalism. It is a pleasure to read well-written and researched news and long research articles, my favorite topics are mostly about food and arts, I highly recommend to read it on a daily basis.

Paid content only, clear violation of google policy. The site apparently shows normal content to google robots but hides content from visitors.

These guys and their desire to gain subscribers really piss me off. Just shutter your online business, or shutter your bricks and mortar guys. Every time I perform a Google search about any item, at the top of the results is the nyt and one other newspaper empire online presence,. The minute you click on that result, you are taken to a very interesting headline which disappears within seconds and is replaced by a 'subscribe to see more', you have 'used up your free viewing time today'. If I was looking for two seconds of viewing time, I would be all set. To be honest, now I avoid all links associated with the nyt and the other online newspaper presence.

As hateful as foxnews but in another universe other than race.

Maybe investigateing the conduct of all your employee born before 1990s would work.

I get ongoing spam emails from "nytdirect[at]nyttimes.com" trying to make me click on the fake dating site as "Sweet and Casual", when I didn't subscribe to NYT.
It had made me lose trust to NYT and won't respond to scammers.

Worse Than CNN
November 21, 2018

Anyone can do a search of their articles to see the twisted words they use in ALL of their articles. Using words to make an articles sound bad is not the truth we seek. NYT hate for President Trump has caused them to lose the value of true journalism. Now they have shown their true colors in hiring a KNOWN racist and defends her words instead of condemning the racism. Hate is hate regardless of color. I have officially blocked them from my search results. At least CNN will report the news although inserting their own opinions too allowing racism to remain at CNN too.

Shameful anonymous op-ed
September 5, 2018

The Confrontation Clause of the Sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides that "in all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the rightto be confronted with the witnesses against him."

While the constant battering of the Trump administration is not a criminal prosecution there is no room for cowards to hide their faces and shout out their "opinions" as though they were to be believed without question.

Come out from behind your veil of secrecy, tell us your name, your position and offer us unequivocal proof of your assertions. Otherwise crawl back under the rock you came from.

Shame on you NYT!

Sorry, no true journalists at NYT. Just another propaganda machine where opinion is reported not news.
