Northbound Gear

I mistakenly assumed that a Canadian company would have stock on hand and ship from Canada. Nope, drop ship from overseas took a very long time to receive the order.
BUT the pants are great, they fit well and are very comfortable. Time will tell about their durability.

I ordered a pair of pants. They arrived in a fairly timely manner. However they were not of great quality and the sizing and cut was strange and did not fit well.
I wanted to return them.
You have to send an email requesting "authorization to return an item".
I have not heard back from the "company" and it's been over a month about details on how to return my item and get a refund.
This is a scam company.

Looks like a good quality product. I ordered 30 inch inside leg, as this is what I had previously purchased (Men's Adventure Pants). Unfortunately, in the Explorer Summer Pants this proved to be much too long, so I had to take them to a tailor to have them shortened.

I am very happy with the adjusted product, albeit at additional cost.

Ordered Feb 26 (order *******). Shipment on the way email Feb 28th. USPS tracking showed it was in LA and stuck there for 2+ weeks. Delivered March 18. Return address was New Jersey. No surprise their Trustpilot score is not good.

Package arrived late due to postal workers strike - no fault of Northbound Gear
Trousers are excellent with one caveat that they leaked were against my jacket when in heavy rain. They are showerproof rather than waterproof.

Purchasing was simple and despite postal delays (that were due to Royal Mail not Northbound) I received my items promptly. However, in the time between placing an order and actually receiving it my inbox was hammered by far too many automated emails offering special discounts or from the founder? Honestly, I think the number is excessive and if anything made it less likely I'd buy again despite being happy with the product.

I did unsubscribe but the perceptive damage was already done. TL;DR Pls don't spam kthxbai

Not very impressed with communication regarding my order which appeared to be sitting in limbo somewhere? I understand it is holiday season but order was placed at the end of November and tracker so showed so progress? Tried to get in contact various ways!

Overall great. Only thing not thrilled about was how my items were packaged when shipped. Three pairs of adult pants were stuffed into a small plastic shipping bag. The bag was tapped in a poor way. The pants were wrinkled when removed from the bag. And it was difficult to get them out of the bag without using scissors, which was risky as they were so tightly packed in there and I was worried about cutting into the actual pants!

Arrived just in time to be tested in the -15 C daytime weather we had this last weekend and met all my expectations. Warm, comfy stylish looking pants. A bit baggier than I prefer but does everything I expected.

I am repeat customer encajar product is great. I dropped a star only because I've been told 'forever' there will be more colours coming but after a couple years I'm realizing that's likely not happening.

I have purchased several hiking pants and the quality is excellent. I especially like the size ranges, since I am a tall slender woman who has a difficult time finding long enough pants that aren't huge on me.

It seems like the items are ready for shipment in a timely manner, but they get stuck in some remote place for weeks waiting for USPS to get it. During this time customer service isn't even able to get an update. One of my orders was lost. After several friendly emails back and forth I finally got replacement order quickly - expedited shipping.
Northbound Gear - find a new shipper!

I have just purchased my 5th, 6th and 7th pair of summer water resistant trousers. Basically I wear them everyday for all activities, work, gardening, golfing, exploring. The order takes a wee while longer to arrive but when it does I am not disappointed. So glad I discovered Northbound gear.

Ordered December 11,2023 and received them January 9,2023, item was delayed due to the extreme weather before Christmas. Found out the head office is in BC and the warehouses are over seas. I ordered the black softshell lined size 10 tall ladies, which fit me perfect (5'9 & 140 lbs)
Just received, so not sure on performance outside during a cold spell.

I bought the women's adventure trousers and have found them to be a comfortable good looking and practical pair of trousers in all weathers. The sizes are very generous…… I'm usually a UK16 but bought a 14 going on the reviews, in actual fact I feel I could go another size down. The inner fleece lining makes the trousers feel so snug without becoming too warm. I've only worn them over the winter which has been fine, although they may be too warm to wear over the summer but time will tell. British summer temperatures can vary a lot!
The waterproofing is excellent but does need reproofing after a couple of washes.
Also bought the men's weatherproof tactical jacket for my son who is equally pleased with the quality and performance.

Easy, straightforward ordering process from my phone. I also appreciate the additional offers made available even though I did not take advantage. Delivery was very quick and the quality surpassed my expectations….higher than Carhartt or LL Bean. Fit is true to size (like buying from a store) and perfect.

I love these winter trousers which are great for dog walking on wet, cold, snowy or windy days.
I bought the grey size 10, I would say true to size for a UK 14, still room to tuck in base layers etc.
I am 1.65m & am happy with the regular length. The lower leg zipper opening is excellent to allow access for putting on welly boots if needed. Delivery 11 days after ordering.
Overall delighted with my purchase which will be fantastic for our Scottish winters!

The Adventurer pants and "Tactical" Jacket are amazing pieces of gear that I've purchased and have kept me warm during the mild winter temperatures (~ -8°C). The shopping experience was mostly painless however the only pain point is the oddly long shipping time. Now, the shipping was free and tracked so I didn't expect too much to be fair. It might have just been me but the product was processed and sent out for delivery soon after purchase however took about 3-4 weeks of waiting before the product finally arrived. I wouldn't put this entirely on Northbound though as it most likely was just the service they used for shipping logistics.

Overall pretty good. May be worth doing a shipping timeline out of US/Canada to Europe as that was the longest period in the process without any sense of where goods were. Info email address doesn't seem to generate any response that's my only real negative.

Love the pants, but shipping sucks eggs. Ordered the first pair of pants in January and they arrived way past the commitment date. Took a leap of faith and ordered a second pair February 12th and still waiting for them to arrive by Canada Post. I've purchased from other Canadian vendors who use Canada Post and my deliveries have always arrived within the commitment period. I'm not sure what delivery option Northbound Gear uses to ship products or where their warehouse is but delivery is super slow. Maybe just let customers know their order will arrive between a 2 - 4 week window. Over committing and under delivering is so annoying.
