Re- self serve. Customers are not allowed to take their groceries cart. No one can hold small blue groceries baskets that may carry 2 bags of milk. It is ridiculous. They should close the self serve area or Allow the groceries carts.

Done with No Frills
January 7, 2024

Mever enough stock because people are allowed to buy as much as they want, clearly for the store they own. Long line up why cashiers are chatting with friends. Raise their prices so they can lower them to look like customers are getting a sale. No rain checks either.

No frills in Markham
November 26, 2022

I have found sense about 6 months ago when the new frills got new ownership that the quality has gone way down. I'm starting to shop there less and less. I have been shopping there for 17 years and is the first time I'm not happy with it at all

My friend who is elderly and doesn't speak English placed the groceries on the wrong side, I explained to the manager she got confused, the manger replied, if you do his mistake again I will kick you out ', I asked her why she is being rude, she went to office, come back and told us to get out, I asked her why she is kicking us out after we spent long time shopping, she said that we are trying to steal? I have video of her saying we are stealing. We took time from our busy schedule to buy groceries only to be told to leave and be called thieves!, she was so rude, arrogant, in my life I didn't think someone that rude leaves in Canada. What a Karen

Poor Management
January 29, 2023

The stock situation here in Smithers BC is terrible. Cooler trays are empty a well as portions of shelves. I could manage the store better than this guy. If you are going to carry Lactantia milk you could at least plan your ordering so the products stay in stock. If there was another store that stocked this, I would definitely buy there. Pathetic!

Spoiled produce.
September 29, 2023

I was quite disappointed when I had to return a cabbage that was brown throughout. Thought it was just brown on outside so took it home 4.65 for a cabbage. Anyway upon cutting inti the cabbage it had brown right through. So I returned it. At another store bad produce is returned for full credit and a replacement item is given free of charge. NOT so at no frills she weighs the replacement and wants more money. Thanks but no thanks. I had to drive all the way back to this store and they wouldn't even exchange. The difference was only an extra dollar. But it was the principle! Really Steve. You cant afford to keep good customer relations. Not going there for produce anymore!

My friend went into No Frills Dartmouth, with his power wheelchair, and made purchase of two items. He paid for those items and asked the cashier to put the items in his backpack on the back if his wheelchair... She said, No I'm not doing that. Without any kind of apology. Another cashier came over and placed the items in his backpack. Not letting this go...

It is a humble request that we need fresh baguettes everyday as was being sold by former super store.
We also request an inspection of the the type of baguettes being sold to customers which are 2 to three days old. We wish that this issue is addressed the soonest possible.
Thanks

My daughter worked at a no frills in London for 5 years. She gave her notice and when my mother passed away after she gave her notice they told her that it was inconvenient and rude of my daughter to take bereavement time. They felt that since she only had two weeks left she just should have worked. My daughter apologized that they worked short staffed that day and they have since refused to pay her for her bereavement time. She called the store asking why and the owner was unprofessional and rude. He told her that she shouldn't put them down as a reference as they would not say good things about her. She worked so hard there and even gave out toys to children who came into the store. She would purchase coffee and treats for co-workers when they were down and in turn is treated horribly. I refuse to shop at no frills and have told many people not to as well.

So everything that is no name is supposed to be on price freeze well it is I think if you buy three of one 3 or more of one thing at a time. The sales that they have on produce is supposed to be a good deal but I just find that it is a waste of money. Everything looks fresh that day, you take it home and some within an hour is overripe and mushy or the next day growing mold on it. It is not a sale when you buy a bag of avacados and go to use them the next day and they are all black inside and have to be thrown out.
I bought baby tomatoes today and they did not look overripe but they sure were and all soft and gushy. I absolutely do not like this. I will only eat firm tomatoes so another thing in the garbage. Cause everyone can afford to just throw money away right?

We had our house for sale in Calgary and instead of worrying about doing dishes we bought a couple containers of paper plates. We sold the house but didn't use the second container full of plates. It was 15 days and the store policy is 14 days for a return. I told them we were moving and we're going to buy road snacks in the store anyways after returning the unopened product. No dice. I'll miss Calgary but not this store where they have zero compassion even for a long time supporter of their store. If you want better customer service look to another store, definitely not No Frills.

Frauds
June 8, 2022

Put items on sale at great price and then do not stock the item. Went four days in a row for Royale toilet paper they put in their flyer and told each day it will be in tomorrow. They had not intention stocking the product at the great price. It happens there all the time, to get people in to shop. I left a full cart behind, over $300 worth and went Food Basics who stock sale items regularly. No Frill, being a part of Loblaws, who were charged with price fixing in the past are a chip of their old block. I am done with these fraudsters in Welland Ontario.

This location has completely gone down hill since the new owner took over. Empty shelves. Expired and near expired products. Poor selection. Unhelpful staff. AND the most recent experience nailed it for me to never ever shop here again. Two men came in unmasked and walked around the store and shopped and not ONE staff member stopped them. I approached 3 different employees about this and each one said I needed to speak to a Manager. When I spoke to a manager, I was told they are not asking individuals why they are not wearing them and they are 'going to assume' they have medical reasons. I was blown away by this answer. THIS is a reflection on the Management and the new owner. Shame on you! I am guessing you'll be shut down soon either by law enforcement or from bankruptcy.

This is about my bad experience at Ali's No Frills
At 449 Parliament St. In Toronto.

The 3-bag milk I bought was dated Aug 9, yet when
I opened it on Aug 4, it curdled in my coffee. The milk
Tasted sour and had definitely turned.

When I bought it, I was surprised to learn at the checkout
That it's price was $1.29, as they were "trying to get rid of
It." Obviously in retrospect, their refrigeration failed, but
They'd rather cheat their customers to recover their cost,
Than just dump it.

I told their complaints department, but they said I had to
Bring it back, including the opened bag. When I asked
What to do if the owner still refused a refund, they told
Me I had to contact the dairy.

Take my advice. Stay away from No Frills like the Plague.
They don't give a damned for customers, that's for sure!

I did grocery shopping at 525 Welland Ave in St Catharines. One of my item was overcharged. Came back to the line up and waited for 15 min to mention that. In the response I heard yelling and "$#*!" towards me. Horrible bad experience. Don't go there anymore. First time for my 14 years in Canada. Some staff is criminally brutal. No apologies. Huge disappointment in this store.

Daniel's No Frills
October 24, 2021

First and last time there. Parking is a nightmare. Store looks untidy. Prices on standard items are same as every other store. Vegetables such as lettuce are wilted and old looking due to lack of proper care of produce. Do not have advertised specials and NO rain checks. This is typcal of shady businesses who advertise low low prices bring in two items of the low price stuff, suck in a customer so that since they are here they will buy other stuff at regular price. This is true of many No Frills. Perhaps it is corporate policy. Avoid this kind of shady dealing outfit.
