Disgusted by Fees

Being slightly disabled I find shopping online easier than trying to park* and walk through the aisles. Today I looked up placing an order online to be picked up in the store, either today or tomorrow. I am absolutely disgusted that I have to pay for the privilege of shopping online. Seriously? My choice is either a membership of $100 annually or payment per order! Why? Why should I pay for the privilege of purchasing your groceries?
I am already contributing to wages of an employee by shopping at this store. Why should I pay an employee twice?
Aside from Walmart I don't know if other store offer a pickup service, I will be looking into this as soon as I post this review. I do know that when I place an order at Walmart they do NOT charge me to pick the order, not do they charge for substitutions.
As of right now I will only shop at no-frills as a last resort. As I find paying for the privilege of shopping at your store Disgusting!
* Handicapped parking is not handicapped friendly at all. I obviously don't know who's bright idea it was to place the reserved spots on the wall farthest from the door, but they need to try shopping as a disabled person to see how insane their ideas are.
Good bye No-Frills I'll only see you when I'm desperate.
NO I DEFINITELY do NOT recommend shopping here to a friend or even an enemy.

Terrible customer service! Period!
Tonight, we had the ennui and boredom of engaging in a very negative encounter with "Karen" of Gibson's No Frills (980 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge).
Ellie lacks customer service skills, manners of an adult, and she simply does not listen. Such an employee would always push new customers away. It was my first visit, and I will never go back.
An item had a regular price plus a 50% discount tag. The cashier must apply the discount, and make sure the customer is happy. However, Ellie "Karen of Gibson's No Frills", simply refused. She said that the wrong price was printed on the item (by her coworker), and I (the customer) should either pay the price she liked (regular price as per the tag) or return the item. I returned the item.

With the passage of time this company has gone expensive. Price matching has gone difficult. The quality of products is quite decent and good. Food and vegetable products are fresh. Customer service is quite nice and return policies are quite effective.
They have to improve their prices

Dirty, Unorganized,

This store is so unorganized and the alleys are always full of boxes in the way. The shelves are never restocked. Produce is the worst. Pricing isn't always the lowest.

I am a regular (white canadian). I was truly shocked to see an asian man was ridiculed by No Frills staffs.
He was waiting in line and out of a blue, a white man and woman questioned him why he was there.

I do not support any form of racism. I do not do business with RACIST Visconti.

It is a shame to have that Visconti No Firlls in my neighbourhood.

I exprienced horrible customer service at Nadim's No Frills- Garden Street in Whitby today! I was double charged for an item last Friday and during my regular shopping today I asked for my money back with a receipt. I was told that I needed to have checked my receipt immediately when given to make them aware of double charge. Nofrills I don't check my receipt right away as I trust that you will not double charge! Apologize and correct your mistake instead of shifting blame to customer!

Poor customer service
February 9, 2022

Visited today at 3:30. Website said "not too busy". We were 20th in line and the couple in front asked someone stocking if they could open more than the one cash. He said he was the owner and there was nothing he could do. Really? He couldn't jump on cash himself?

We won't be back.

Joe's No Frills has been around awhile now, it is part of the Loblaw's grocery chain, which has many different brands. When No Frill's opened it certainly did have some low prices, much better than most of its competitors, and so low prices=No Frills. As time went by prices on many items seemed to be creeping up, much closer to what other stores were selling the same items for also higher end products appeared at the same price or more than their competitors. Unfortunately many shoppers had programed their brains to equate No Frills with the lowest prices in the area. Another one of No Frill's guarantee was to have the lowest price on items that there competitors had and they would match it. But you had better read the fine print on that offer which could be found in their flyers and ads, but not found on the brightly colored T-shirts advertising the same. I saw one person who found an item at a lower price in the Shoppers Drug Store which is in the same building, this person wanted No Frill's to match the price. No way said the management, Shopper's was not a grocery store. In fact, the only store that No Frill's will match are the two Safeway's in the immediate area, one 3 blocks away and the other 5 blocks away They will not match any of the other local food marts, vegetable stores in the area or the other major grocery store 8 blocks away which happens to be part of the Loblaw's grocery chain but a different name. When I asked them why they would not match the answer was "we are only matching Safeway". So, bottom line, when you shop at No Frill's be very careful of what you purchase as you may find it at another store for a lessor price.

Multiple times there were billing errors. Yes they do correct it if ypj catch it then and there. Also some cashiers are arrogant. If you go to express counter, they will ask you to go stand in regular queue until the cashier comes and calls you from the queue. Seriously, then what is the express line for? Atleast keep a board saying those for express line should stand in regular line and the cashier will come fetch you.

I placed an order omline on Dec 8 at the no frills that I have ordered from for the last 2 yrs...the next day I get a pick up reminder however it is for a different store across town...I call the 800 number and they cancel the order for me however they tell me they will me 11 dollars for this and I will get my refund in 2-7 days and that I can just go to my history and replace my order at a different store... I asked if they could just transfer my order to my usual store instead since I had already paid...I was told no they cant...They had already taken almost $400 for the estimated cost and had the nerve to suggest I spend another $400 to replace the order at another store like it was no big deal with no refund at that time. On Dec 10 I had a refund for the estimated cost but they then took out the actual cost of almost $300. I called the 800 number again to find out why they could refund that but not the full amount since the order was cancelled. I was told it could take up to 10 business days for my actual refund. It is now Dec 21 and 10 business days is tomorrow so I called the 800 number to confirm that I would get my refund tomorrow and the refund request wasnt even put in the system and now Im being told it could be another 5 days and hearing excuses about them being busy and it being christmas time...I told them this was unacceptable and that I wanted to speak with a manager...I was told that was not possible but that I could email head office or they could put me on a list to recieve a call in a couple days...This is nonsense and I am absolutely disgusted with their service

I've been shopping here at least 10 yrs & with this covid19 they put a limit of toilet paper to 1 roll per person. I was at the store March 23 2020 & witnessed 3 patrons complaining bout this lady in line buying 2 large pkgs of toilet paper. The staff was laughing at these patrons being upset I felt that was disgusting. Turns out she worked thier & she was a manager. To do that in front of people who couldn't find toilet paper anywhere is disgusting & for customer service & cashiers to laugh bout it DISCUSTING

I bought No Name English muffum in regular price $1.69/bag of 6 on 11/29 at Visconti's NOFRILLS Markham. Two days later, the new Nofrills flyer for 12/1-7 posted the English muffum with the price going up to $2/bag of 6... see the flyer link below for details. Please be aware it's not easy to get a new customer, so don't fool to your customers when they are trust your announment on Oct 17,2022.
I.e. Peoples work there are very nice and helpful, appreciated.

Have been NoFrills customers for over 20 year. Very disappointed to discover that NoFrills sells EVEN fish, garlic, smoked salmon etc. - product of China without any alert! Sooooo upset to discover we've been eating Chinese food without even knowing! NO MORE NOFRILLS unless they change!

"Darryll & Tracey's" in London… flat-out denied flyer price. No explanation. Just would not honour Zero-Frills" sale price. Avoid this low class store AND chain if at all possible!

Wrote to head office numerous times about my experience at the no frills and they lady Barbara Ann kept telling me oh don't worry we're telling the head owner. Only to be harassed more by the owner at the no frills I am going to as he knew me as he was always in my face and then when I complained got in my face even more. I told the lady she didn't care nor does care. So I was definitely being discriminated against as the owner is a racist. Telling me that he's an immigrant? I'm not sure what he means he can be ignorant and nobody does anything about it. It's funny we have to tip toe around his culture but he can discriminate and harass me without recourse. I'm also an immigrant I told him so I'm not sure what his point was. It seems like anyone can own a store as long as you have money. The company does nothing about it. The no frills on main street east in Hamilton near tisdale. Disgusting. Always in your face he's paranoid people are going to rob him. When he's the one robbing people. The stuff on sale he has only a limited quantity or it's rotten especially the fruit (figs). Plus, if I don't check the receipt there is the wrong price from what the sticker is saying. Like I would steal from the store. He knows I don't steal but still chasing me down. You can't just go shop in the store as he has his dirty baskets in your face I don't want a basket. Leave me alone to shop like I want not like he wants me too. Ridiculous. Being Discrimination against and harassed because I complained.

FALSE ADVERTISING
June 23, 2023

What I am about to relate has happened numerous times in the past but this time was the last straw.

I went to the No Frills store in Stittsville, Ontario just after lunch on June 15,2023 ( the very day the latest flyer was effective). I wanted to pick up the following advertised items:
- Strawberries
- Diet Pepsi
- Wild Sockeye Salmon
I looked for, as well as asked staff, and could not find any of these items. In past instances when I've asked about things advertised but that I was unable to find, I've often been told that " the truck has not come in ". It defies logic to think that that excuse would work in this situation. Strawberries would come in a climate controlled truck, Pepsi is delivered by trucks festooned with Pepsi signs and the salmon would have been delivered by some other ( general merchandise?) truck. So all 3 trucks didn't arrive? From what I see, No Frills continually advertise merchandise that they do not have.

I spoke to two staff members and asked for rainchecks. I was told " We don't issue rainchecks " – no sorry but, no apology, just that statement. Let me repeat – No Frills advertise merchandise that they do not have and then refuse to make it right.

I sent basically all the above as a complaint to customer service. They responded with a mealy mouthed form letter claiming that they sometimes underestimate the demand for advertised items and can't keep up with the demand. UTTER BULL! I responded with the following:
" I was at the store quite early on the very day that your ad started. In addition, there was no EMPTY shelf space where these goods might have been originally.

To repeat - You advertise things that you have no prospect of actually having in store."
