Ordered a light and paid by Paypal on 11Oct09
Cancelled the order on 26Nov09 when they admitted that they could not supply
I have been told that the Director has personally sent me a refund by cheque
But I have received nothing and now they are not communicating
I can believe all that has been written before
Do not buy from them but help remove them
They give the web a bad name!

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. I so wish I had read the reviews of this website before ordering as they are so accurate. Money taken for order 2 months + ago and the only time there has been contact with them is when I instigate it - told lights despatched beginning of January when lights did not arrive then told another 2 to 3 weeks delay and then I had to email twice to cancel order and was told money would not be repaid for 28 days. I suspect it is one con man operating this website. Will be contacting Trading Standards and BBC Watchdog as very suspicious of the credability of this company.
Ordered my lights on 25/10/2009, it is now 04/01/2010! I have emailed them on several occasions, with no reply.
They obviously don't know how to run a business or are deliberately scamming people.

Just recieved my lights and I love them! They really are superb quality. Everything from start to finish was superb. It was a little worrying reading reviews on here about the delivery but mine arrived on time. I am sure a lot of companies are having a hard time in this recession, I have my own shop and I have trouble getting deliveries in from suppliers. I am a happy customer.
I argee with other 2 reviews, never order anything from them. I bought lights from them in June, they took my money and I've waited 23 weeks and still haven't recieved my lights. I have sent loads of emails, written to them, telephoned them and all I get is pathetic excuses and told delivery will be in 3-5 working days but nothing ever arrives.
I would like to thank all at newlightingdirect my lights have been fitted today and they look fab. I saw the lights in my local shop first and I saved a packet with these. I will recommend you to all my friends. Thanks again

I have just heard from Consumer Direct regarding my complaint again NLD. They will be refering the matter to Trading Standards, but they act on volume complaints.
Please telephone ******* ******* to register your case.
When I telephone NLD I did manage to get to speak with Jason Pritchard who claims to be the sales manager. Tried to speak with accounts but he said they do not have a phone and are in a locked office?!
Told him we would commence legal proceedings the next day then followed this with an email. A few hours later they did reply and say that they had authorised a paypal refund. Paypal says it will take up to 7 days - so will wait and see.

Had an email from them now saying that they have ceased trading as from the 23 March 2010. Just as I was suppose to be getting my refund via cheque!
Having read all your comments, it sounds like everyone is in the same boat.
I have spoken to Consumer Direct who were a little helpful, but not that much.
I have spoken to Companies House who say they are listed as still trading and posted there accounts on the 4th Feb this year.
Good old Jason, June and Adam - total con artists who should be locked up!
Dont they realise that some people don't have money to throw down the drain?!? If I have to issue a claim against them its going to cost me more money. The police should take action as this is fraud pure and simple! They took out money and had no intention of sending the goods or a refund - how do they sleep at night?
I hope that everyone who has been conned by these people take action and that the MD herself has to pay everyone back and loses everything - see how she likes it!

These people are total con artists, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. They do not communicate, do not answer phones, do not deliver the products, they are good at taking your money off of your hands though!
Bought a gift from this company in September and it never arrived.
Contacted them a few weeks ago again, and was told it was out of stock.
It's currently been 4 months and I still haven't received my item - a wedding present for a wedding which was 3 weeks ago!

Please never buy from this web site, they make you believe they have every thing in stock take upright full payment and your stock is far far out of site no communication. Constant lies about your order and delivery, no compensation offered, infact very rude staff just one man show i guess. You always talk to one person called jayson no higher authority to report your complaint to. Infact some of my order was wrong they won't even take it back or would charge more than the item for pick up of parcel. When i tried their postal address its not even registered as a trade address and their post code doesn't match the address! It was one big ordeal to deal with them and i would not recommend any one to ever deal with them. PLEASE NEVER ORDER FROM THIS WEBSITE!
Ordered our item back in September, light was promised and promised to be delivered but never came, cancelled order and now waiting a refund. Have sent two letters recorded delivery asking for money back, been waiting now 63 days for refund, no communication been received, have mailed them also, still no response. Consumer direct gave me advice and now having to take legal action against company to get money back, also Companies House have confirmed that they are behind with registering with them and owe them £375, stay away from this company I think they will not be around for much longer. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY
Yes, i agree with the first reviewer. No communication from this site. Evasive un helpful and unapologetic. DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER WITH THIS WEBSITE. If you do, always use a credit card so you will get some protection. I am about to start proceedings against them for return of payment.
I have reported this website to trading standards. Like others, I regret not checking out this company before ordering. All you get for your money is empty promises and bs.
DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE, they say that it is in stock and take your money straightaway, but then they say it will be 2-4 weeks, but after 7 weeks there was still no sign of my lights so i cancelled the order, i am still waiting for my money back after 27 days of cancelling. They have had my money since 25 October, it is now 4th January. This company is a disgrace and should be closed down so DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!
I totally wish I saw this site before I orderd by lights,
I placed an order in the middle of Sep 09, was only told of 2 to 4 weeks lead after I called a week later to chase delivery, and the I have been waiting ever since, It is always 10 to 12 days waite from the manufacturer.
I can't believe the OFT have'nt been made aware of them.
The worst internet company I have ever dealt with. I ordered a light fitting on 02-09-2009 & paid in full, after nine weeks & numerous phone calls & emails & with no definate delivery date I cancelled my order & was told it takes four weeks to raise a credit, after four weeks & no credit I am hoping my credit card company can help PLEASE DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY
Wish i had read these reviews before ordering with this bunch of thiefs. My elderly parents thought they were buying a wedding Anniversary present for my husband and i, what a disaster. Placed the order on the 30th June have not recieved any goods or my parents pension money refunded. It is now the 27th October. These people are quite simply thiefs they take your money with no intention of delivering the goods or refunding the money. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY.

Answer: Yep thought so, did not get a refund within the five working days having to now resort to court action!
