In October 2022, I flew down to Atlanta from Chicago to attend the Achieve the Dream event. The process leading into the room to be counseled was smooth. It was a wait but it wasn't long once you reached the interview room. Everyone was kind and greeted you upon entry. I was assigned Erna Wilson. She was and is the best. Although I didn't qualify that day, she was precise as to what I needed and became my regular counselor. My trip to the Achieve the Dream was well worth it!

Working with NACA has been a long, sometimes frustrating process, but I am at the finish line and hope to cross it very soon. My new counselor has been very supportive and has provided me with the needed steps to complete the process.

My name is kyria, I have been in the NACA process since October of 2021, I am in payment shock for six months because I am currently not renting. I would suggest to anyone going through the process to make sure that you ask questions and email your counselor. Make sure when you have an appointment that you have everything completed and check with your counselor prior to make sure you will not have any delays.
The NACA process seems to be easy as long as you have your paperwork together and updated as told. I am in the early stages but have a great counselor who is very knowledgable and helpful in gettting you through the process. Don't give up; trust the process.
I am starting my home buying process with NACA as a single woman and it is going great so far. My counselor Willie Abro has been helpful and responsive and I got a follow up appointment within 2 weeks after the first appointment!

Experience with NACA is by far the worse. I was supposed to have a meeting today and my experience was terrible. The firs text me to expect a phone call within an hour. Off of a hunch i happened to check my email. The counselor sent me an email at 9:17am indicating that i should join the Go To meeting. The counselor specifically she will stay in the meeting till 9:20am. I joined at 9:21am she was already gone. The point is why no phone call like? Why send an email and only allow then to join within 3 minutes? I reach out to Live customer support to only be told i have to wait till 2022 to register again. I was honestly looking forward to NACA until this terrible unprofessional experience.
Life happens to good people and NACA believes everyone deserves a second chance. Stay with the program and process the end result will be well worth it.
My spouse and I heard about NACA from our roommate and went to the office of NACA in Atlanta. When we went there, there were so many people participating in NACA's housing program. We were very surprised with the quantity of the people. As any other people, we waited for our turn to take our first orientation with the NACA's officers. We joined the orientation and found some useful information. They gave us our NACA ID number and we found our counselor, Gladene Washington. She assisted us with all the questions we had and clarified anything that we were confused about. We are still communicating with her to finish up our process. She has been very helpful and we are very satisfied! We hope NACA will support our journey of finding our sweet home with a great help of Gladene Washington.
Today i Had and appointment with NACAi missed a couple docs that is why i did not make it i ecourage guys before your appointment make sure please you are up to date if not you will lose it like. I was so mad. But NACA it is great opportunity for us please coming up you will get help.
My opinion of NACA has changes since last year when I was qualified. I was told to my next appointment just incase my qualification expired before I found a home and I did just that. On the day of my appointment, I was told that my counselor was on vacation and that I had to reschedule my appointment! The next appointment was 3-4 months out, which was after the expiration date on my qualification letter. This meant that I was not longer qualified and to pretty much start over. It is now 10 months later and I am still not requalified. I have worked with 4 different counselors. Each counselor works differently and wants the paperwork formatted a certain way or the counselor assigns item on your action plan that you have not previously done before. At this point, I am very frustrated with NACA and this process. Being qualified to be disqualified is very upsetting. I am hoping that I am qualified at my next appointment.

NACA is an excellent program to help hardworking individuals get a home. The NACA program makes homebuying possible when the big banks and lending companies make it feel impossible. Through NACA and its staff, the home buyer is examined based on "character and not credit." I am glad we chose to do things the NACA way.
As a first time home buyer, it can seem overwhelming to go through the process without the proper knowledge so I appreciate NACA for helping me and my family have a better experience with home buying so that we can start investing in our future home.

Answer: I decided to go with NACA because they don't consider your credit score and the counselors work with you to become qualified. NACA has made me more diligent with saving money by not spending on wants but needs. This method has strengthen my assets considerably.
