The website functionality was smooth and easy to use. It was not only informative, it was also comedy included so you'd never get bored reading. Plus Improv.com allows you to complete the driver's course on your own time that way you are not forced to finish it all in one day.
I enjoyed doing the three hour class from my home. The way it was presented was interesting and after driving and commuting for more than 40 years it also renewed my knowledge and made me laugh out loud
At some of the things you encounter on the road.
Problems with computer crashes when attempting to view videos for some comic relief. I eventually gave up after half-dozen crashes and just went through the training. And for the record, my computer has not had the blue screen of death for Microsoft Windows 7 except for this "service."
I was satisfied with everything but when I asked customer service to send/email my drivers record and they said a gentleman would handle that first thing on Monday. I never heard anything and that took away from my experience a lot. In fact, I would still like to receive that email of my driver record.
The comedy angle was fantastic and made the test go much more pleasant. I learned several things I did not know before which was great. I would suggest that everyone read the cartoons as that is the only question that I missed.
One suggestion - It is not clear that you need to score a certain minimum on each section. The beginning it indicates that there is no minimum scoring to pass you just need to complete it.
Your identification verification soft ware sucks! Some questions were vague at best and down right not related to me otherwise. Would not recommend your program for that reason. In a couple of paragraphs there were miss leading statements that were not listed in the end of text quiz!
After years of attending classes (1 weekend or multiple evenings) taking this on-line course, using videos, graphics and text combined with comedy, makes getting the 10% reduction in my insurance premium easy peasy, and not a chore!
Seems easy so far. But have only made it through registration.
Update: Af5er talking with friends, this by far is the easiest and most enjoyable course available! Cannot believe how simple this was! Highly recommend!
Well, there are probably not very many ways to make defensive driving content interesting, so that's a given. However, this product sells itself on adding humor, which was marginal, at best, insultingly droll at worst, and not worth paying extra for. Also, the text content had typos and inconsistencies and some fairly dated statistics. It could use an overhaul. Probably it's a state requirement to drag the course out for 6 hours, but it's very frustrating to wait 15 or 20 minutes, after reading 10 minutes of content, before you can take the chapter quiz. Still, the web site worked fine and it got the job done. A solid grade of "C."
Great class! So wonderful to take this course over the internet--I am handicapped and it is nearly impossible for me to sit in a classroom for half a day. The class was informative, easy to navigate, and I completed it in one evening, while lying down in my bed. If you have to wipe a ticket off your record, I highly recommend this program! I called the court three days after I completed the course, and my ticket was dismissed.
**Customer service took care of the issue and were friendly. They had my certicate sent on time. Lifesaver!
Previous message: I had to charge my credit card twice! Not happy about this! Please have a manger contact me to explain *******261
Well built website.
The itemized payment section would be improved if there is more description to the required associated fees such as the $8.oo NYS DMV fee - I had the impression that I could submit my own proof of course completion to avoid the fee. The lovely cell phone rep helped me through the inquiry but I would have rather avoided another step of contact.
The optional audio fee $4.95... I do appreciate the optional function. However, in this day and age of electronics; should it not just be included rather than an additional fee for those folks who do wish to go in that direction? Personally, it left a distaste to me that over-shadowed your wonderful product.
Thank you for listening to my input - overall, greatly satisfied.
Overall, I had a great time using MyImprov to complete the informational course. I took it for the insurance discount, so ~$35 price for this course and ~5 hours of your time is tremendously worth the investment since it discounts your insurance by 10% a year for 3 years: for me, about $300 total so a net savings of around $270, so effectively getting paid $54 an hour to read driving rules and watch funny videos. Somewhat dark humor, whether that's your cup of tea or not. Having taken the in-person version of this class several times in the past, I can say without a doubt that MyImprov beats the in-person version across the board. If you're a fast reader and ace the quizzes without much effort, even better; just remember that you have to actually let the full time pass before you can move on.
Extra fees for everything is just annoying. By the time I get through paying for all the things that should have been covered with the initsl fee it isn't any type of savings or discount offered. Looking a lot like a bait and switch pricing.
At first, I received false information regarding the 2 chapter free trial. I had to go to an online chat rep, find out where I saw the info, copy and paste the info so she could send it to tech support. I'm not employed by you. I feel it was not my job to oversee your website. Anyway, this wasted an hour of my time. Also the military discount code I used 3 years ago was unaccessible which is sad. And I feel the course added extra fees such as $4.50 for audio when American Safety Council has the course for $24.99 all the frills included.
Easy to do course... also was glad I knew almost all info. Did learn that at intersections when more than one car enters, the one on your rt should go first. But as usual, I don't assume the right of way, 1) Because I never trust any driver, and 2) I ride a motorcycle and that has taught me to be even more aware of everything around me. Last 10 years I got back into the bike. I have taken two bike courses for safety. One at beginning of riding again and then after 10,000 miles, I did the advanced riding defensive course and this one you bring your own bike. These courses for all driving types should be mandatory... bet it would decrease MVA's...
I spoke to Max on 6/11/20 at 10;13 p.m. and have received nothing yet after finishing test with a 90. Please advise on Improv tickets anf copy of the test as soon as possible. Thank you, Leslie Switzer
The Improv Defensive Driving course is well structured, and offers a read-a-long, or read on your own format, for its class instruction. The ability to save at your present section, of the class instruction, and return to it later, is a great feature. There were no glitches or site issues, and the "Improv humor", during the read-a-long format actually enhanced the course rather than take away from it. At the completion of the course, a printable Certificate was available, and Improv was very diligent in sending me the authenticated Certificate, within days of my class completion, for my Insurance Co. Turn in.
At 9 months pregnant, sitting in a class for 6 hours would not be fun! This is a great program to take at your own pace, that offers valuable information, all with a little fun in the mix. Some diagrams and paragraphs aren't quite as clear as they could be but overall well put together. Since I have taken this before, it's a bit repetitive so some new material would be appreciated next time.
Easy and fast. The chat option is a great tool, and I used it for a couple of question, which made the buying process all the more simple. Some of the discussion points seemed a little out of date (i.e. Hardly any mention of texting, some of the facts on 'clean' cars were quite old, etc.), otherwise, the information was relevant and helpful.
I liked how humor and comedy was infused into training. It was not boring nor stressful. I enjoyed it. The follow-up emails assured me that you would be timely in notifying GEICO and issuing my bonafide certificate.
This was an enjoyable way for good drivers to get an insurance discount! Just keep the price of your training low. Great job! Thanks!
