After a very strong email sent yesterday I received a speedy reply saying Myheritage account was ready to view.
This letter then came straight after.
Dear Dawn,
Thank you for your reply and I apologize for the delayed response.
There was a technical issue with your family tree and we had to get the development team involved in order to locate your family site.
I'm happy to let you know that we were able to locate a backup of the Audoire Family Tree and we've uploaded it to your account. Please note however that we weren't able to restore any photos.
Due to the inconvenience, I've processed a refund for your subscription and gave you a free Complete subscription for 2 years for the value of GBP 340. You will be able to use all the features until April 2nd, 2020.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience.
Should you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Eden
As you will see all my photo's going back to 2009 have been lost which to me is unacceptable and refund of money plus a further two year free subscription will not bring these back. Some of these members have now passed away.
I am most upset to think with a press of a key the Audoire site had been deleted with no reason given and for the second time since Nov 2017. I feel I can not rely on Myheritage any longer but have accepted their terms for the other members and will let them all decide if they want to continue. I do not want to go through all the stress again. For this to have happened twice within 12 months and loss of all family photo's plus lack of communications I shall not be recommending to others.
Dawn Auddoire-Jones
Our family site with over 1300 names was blocked! The manager of our site passed away I wrote to Myheritage explaining and saying I wanted to continue running as I had already been a member since 2009 and helped my cousin with a lot of the input. I paid for an upgrade which was accepted and told a letter would follow. It didn't but an email did refunding my £64 with no explanation. I tried to get into site but it said it no longer existed more stress. I sent at least 4 emails to the help support not receiving any replies until yesterday saying how sorry they were and the site had been given to a cousin of mine who had nothing to do with it at all. She was very surprised when I contacted her and has since written to them. Today came a reply the site has been put in my name and unblocked with no explanation of refund or disregarding all information sent to them. As you can tell I am not happy with the way this has been handled and didn't need to go through all this after losing a member of the family which was bad enough. Explaining what went wrong would have been nice.
Since sending this review Myheritage site has once again been block when trying to access I am taken to another family tree belonging to my Cousin and it is say the site I am looking for no longer exists.
I wrote another review and a reply came back from Rafael asking me to send him details of the ID number and how sorry he was I had been having so much trouble. This was days ago I am still waiting for his acknowledgement and an answer to what is going on!
It was definitely worth the experience. Having my DNA tested revealed ethnicities that I never knew I had. Part of my dads side family always took pride in being Italian, little to find out our direct ancestors just lived in Italy- they were actually Greek! As well as I had no idea my mothers side had Finnish and Nigerian! And now that my family members have started their testing we are linking our family origins. Its been a wonderfully eye opening experience and has encouraged me to dig deeper into my family history.
I love using Myheritage for DNA chromosome matches and comparisons. Much better than ancestry where you can't see the specifics.
The only thing I wish is that I could sort my matches by cm's shared.
I was pleased to see my overall results. However, with every tease of 'new results' or even in order to see my original ones, I can get no access. I am not able to get link to change password (won't accept original one) to function. Cannot get humans on phone. Have tried repeatedly over several weeks. If a human would simply contact me, perhaps we could clear this up. As it stands, however, after initial enthusiasm, I am very, very disappointed.

I originally called a while back to ask a few questions about the subscription services... namely the ultimate subscription with everything. I've used other family tree sites & not had the best luck. I was concerned about spending the money on a subscription to My Heritage & the gentleman on the other end immediately offered a free month ultimate for me to see if I liked it or not. I agreed to try it & I have not been disappointed! So far so good! I'm enrolling in the ultimate subscription today!
Recently, I received the information from my DNA test. I was having difficulty downloading the raw data file so contacted the MyHeritage support team via email. Charlotte sent me a comprehensive solution to my technical problem. I found her instructions easy to follow. Coincidentally, I had a similar problem downloading my family tree as a GEDcom file which is with another genealogy company. I applied the same principles with success. I can only say that Safari is not the best browser for supporting genealogy software. Many thanks to Charlotte for her quick and detailed response.
Not only was I able to talk to a human almost instantly, but my question about privacy issues was answered completely, plus ShannonM alerted me to related issues that I had not known to ask about.
Had an issue with my new complete membership being assigned to my wife (dec'd) instead of me. I was very confused because of the two memberships. The CS rep talked me through the entire process, unhurriedly, with complete success, even down to the assignment of both our DNA kits, having both trees accessible, with linked DNA. And, no increase in the price, which I had actually expected. A happy customer.
MyHeritage just added an Irish location. It expands the hours that those of us in the USA can access their expertise. Tonight I called and got the Irish location. Kiran answered the call. She is so nice, so smart... and so patient! She fixed a problem I had been struggling with for over a year in just a matter of minutes! Then she fixed another thing or two. Then we just had fun discussing all the good stuff MyHeritage can do.
Was puzzled about re-assigning a DNA kit so rang help and spoke to a very friendly Irishman who solved my problem quickly and efficiently
Thanks to DavidN who was patient, kind and helpful answering all of my questions and he also fixed a few of the errors in my Family Tree. I have not yet received the DNA kit so I'm just entering the information of my family members and ran across a few problems while in the process. Looking forward to the results!
When I get stumped I always turn to MyHeritage for support. Rarely do I not find something positive to had to my tree.
I called because I was concerned about the length of time the test was taking. I spoke to a very understanding, helpful person who looked at my account and assured me that everything was fine, just taking a little extra time. And the results were available within 2 days - even quicker than she said they might be. She was very, very nice. I can't say anything to the validity of the results but I am hoping they are accurate.
The gentleman was very patient and helpful. There is so much available here that it is overwhelming and it's hard to know where to start and how to continue!
First time I have used a DNA test and only did so to verify my family lineage. My father was an orphan at 7 years old so I was interested in my Irish heritage. My mother, who is 100% German, provided my brother and I with a complete family history dating back to the 1600s but we didnt know about my fathers side. The test came back indicating that I was 56% Irish, Scottish or Welsh but there was only 1.6% German in my test results. I am afraid I wasted my money.
Dear Claudia,
I regret to find your low star review and I'm eager to clarify the issue you report.
I'd like to clarify the common misconception how DNA is calculated to create the ethnicity estimate and how you may indeed research your family roots using your raw processed DNA sample.
It is important to know that the ethnicity estimate is measured by comparing your DNA to other reference populations that are known in the DNA research community (aka founder populations)
While it is indeed found that people within surrounding countries in Europe share common DNA for various reasons such as people moving around frequently and official borders and communities being occupied, an ethnicity estimate wouldn't measure the history of your family's migration patterns but, DNA matches might help with that study. In other words, your Ethnicity Estimate is still an estimate. Some global populations exhibit similar DNA due to proximity and the mingling of populations.
Because of this, it is indeed a challenge to build a distinct reference profile for Germany, Great Britain, and Scandinavian countries, as those are admixed with Western European DNA. The proof of history with Anglo-Saxon people settling in the British Isles that were comprised of Germanic tribes is vast through many generations and can be verified online.
The good news is that there are ways to circumvent these obstacles with DNA research and with MyHeritage as we give everyone the option to pinpoint the exact location of where your roots come from many of our members will utilize the research tools available such as, building a family tree and finding comparable matches whether they be by doing Genealogy research or viewing your DNA matches.
Our match algorithms have been proven to automatically find and compare similar DNA strands along with ancestral surnames, records, and family trees to find very interesting discoveries.
All said, your overall satisfaction is important to us and therefore, I would like to assist you with the progress of your research.
Therefore, please e-mail me anytime if you have any questions at rafael.vipsupport@myheritage.com. I'd be always happy to help.
Sincerely
Rafael

I was having trouble entering my infotmation to order my dna kit. Megan S from your company was a delightful change from most customer service representatives. She was pleasant and patient through the entire call, and helped me find my account numher in case I might need it later. Thank you for employing people like her!
Sincerely,
Anna M Pifer
Sent my kit in at the end of Jan but never received any emails etc which should have rung alarm bells but have been too busy to chase, eventually chased yesterday, 7 weeks later, and its turned out that i missed a character off of my email address, my fault and the customer support person AlonL I spoke to was great, very helpful and got it all sorted. However the next day I received an email telling me that my 1st sample cannot be read, maybe incorrectly done? Done exactly the same as the 2nd sample which they are now using at "no extra cost"! I shoud think not. They have now told me it will take another 3 to 4 weeks! So about 9 to 10 weeks in all. Hope its worth it..
This is mostly about the service MyHeritage offers and not the validity of their analysis. I was getting a second opinion having done an Ancestry.com analysis. Firstly the length of time it took for me to receive their kit was over the limit they claimed it would take (i6 days!). When I checked the tracking I discovered their were delays from their side from the very start. For example it took 3 days simply to get to NY airport and then it sat there for 4 days for no reason. After I sent my completed kit back I waited about 2 weeks with no sign of it being received at the lab. I received no reply to my email querying this. A week later when I rang I was told there was a backlog at the lab but when I asked about why that would prevent a simple log-in of receipt I was given very vague answers. Another weej or so and still nothing I rang and this time spoke to someone in Israel who told me to ring again if I hadn't received notification after 1 month! Some assurance that was. Eventually after almost a month I received notification that my kit had arrived and was being processed. From that point I waited for the results which came 2 months after I registered for the kit. I then sent an email requesting some clarification of the results. Ten days later after still receiving no response other than an acknowledgement I rang again. After a 22-minute wait when I was told I was next in the queue I got to speak to Desmond in Ireland. Desmond was patient and knew what he was talking about and clarified my understanding of the results. Desmond in fact saved the day for MyHeritage. The results were in general accord with my results from Ancestry.com once Desmond has explained some of the details. My bet is that MyHeritage is simply not employing enough people to do the job they promise and which we pay for and without the sterling work of those who do do the work the management and owners might find themselves out of a business (and the prodits they are surely making from it.)
Dear Chris,
I'm sorry to read your low star review and I deeply sympathize with the delay you have experienced.
Indeed, genealogy research is currently a very popular subject and we do have a large influx of questions and requests coming to us daily. Therefore, one may experience a delay when attempting to contact our support team at times.
It is also true that DNA processing is a very long procedure and may feel like forever and a day at times. Your patience is highly appreciated and I am happy to hear that Desmond was able to help you.
Your feedback and overall satisfaction are extremely important to us, therefore, if you need any assistance in the future with the progress of your research, please feel free to contact me directly at rafael.vipsupport@Myheritage.com. I'd be happy to help you with high priority.
Sincerely
Rafael

Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team (support@myheritage.com).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to support@myheritage.com and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.

Therefore, please e-mail me at rafael.vipsupport@myheritage.com so I may assist you with getting access to your results as soon as possible.
