I signed up for FREE trial and then cancelled it 5 minutes later-£67 has been taken out of my account in that short time! PLEASE DON'T GO NEAR THIS COMPANY-I am currently in queue to PayPal to get money reimbursed
As soon as I started the 7 day trial I tried to get it cancelled. It kept sending me in a loop of needing to authorize my account before I could cancel. Then it gave me what appeared to be a cancellation page, where I believed I had taken care of it.
The day the full charge went through I emailed and explained I thought the cancellation had gone through and to please cancel, they offer that bs discount for premium services "deal".
My cc denied my fraud charge but I am appealing.

Hello Tanya, We apologize for any inconvenience caused. It is likely that you have not verified your account, which is why some actions were restricted. To verify, you simply need to follow the link in the email that was sent to your inbox. Also, you can always contact us at support@musescore.com and we will cancel your subscription.
As others have said, they don't offer a free trial. It doesn't matter that literally EVERY single page throughout the "free trial" checkout process says you'll pay $0. They bill IMMEDIATELY and then refuse to refund you.
Thank you for your feedback. We do offer a free trial nonetheless. To take advantage of it, you need to follow the steps as shown in your screenshots. And you will indeed receive a 7-day trial for certain. The only thing is, if you click on the "Halloween offer", you will be redirected to a different subscription plan, which does not include a free trial period, but this special plan does come with a significant discount. Regarding refunds, you can always request one here https://musescore.com/contact-refund, but according to our refund policy https://musescore.com/legal/terms.
Had some issues with site but after contacting developers, they agreed to reimburse me a part of my membership. I was satisfied with this agreement.
Thank you!
When I first saw that I got charged for their service I was really shoked I mean to loose 50 bucks in 2021 is a tragedy. I contacted their support and they offered me good discount but I rejected the offer cause I thought that I was cheated. But then they issued a prorated refund to me and the same day I found their reminder in spam. Sorry guys
Signed up for the 7 day free trial. The request invoice for the subscription showed that the charged amount was 0.00 eur, but when I went to look at the internet bank, I was charged 38.04 eur for a whole years subscription. There was no indication that I would be signing up for a years subscription. Shamefull. Don't use this online business!
Hello Evi, Thank you for your feedback. It seems that you have clicked the "special offer" option and selected a plan without a trial. Since a subscription with a free trial period is preselected, if you wish to obtain a subscription without a trial but with a discount, you need to click on the "special offer" button. Yes, some of our subscription plans do not include a free trial period. This information is indicated in the descriptions of these plans and at the final confirmation of your subscription choice, where you also authorize the purchase or the free trial, depending on the option you have selected.
Absolute $#*!! Made me subscribe to download 1 sheet of music! Absolutely will not use again! Website is confusing to navigate as a new person! Awful!
They personally helped me through an issue with my Pro account. It was very nice of them to contact me after I had given up on trying to find a solution.
There too many incomplete partitures. I.e. Chopin sonata op. 65: many third mouvement scores, none of the other mouvements. The same applies to many other scores (i.e. Bahms, Schuman etc.). I wonder why this occurs and why nobody has taken care of completing the scores that are otherwise pretty useless.
Hello Giovanni, Thank you for your feedback. We will forward this feedback to our developers. We will strive to improve the quality of scores in the future.
They will not cancel subscriptions but they will cancel auto-renewals and that is all. They have a great selection of music but a lot of it is hard to access without paying or going through processes. They make verifying your email difficult and I just had a terrible experience with them. Musescore was good and printing music was easy enough but it is pricy and I ended up spending that $70. Sorry I can't attach files because they are all emails and are. Eml (add support for that please) :)
Don't waste your money on musescore pro. Definitely not worth it. I wanted to try it out so I did the trial. After a little bit I canceled, but apparently canceling wasn't good enough so they charged me for the full subscription. I have contacted them and all they have to offer is 35% of my money back? What kind of offer is that? The sound quality is not very good either. And they offered me an extended subscription too but why would I want to do that when I don't want it anyways?
I canceled the service a day after I got it. In fact, I was suppose to have a 7 day free trial. I have been billed for the annual membership. I don't want the membership. I do not know why I have to pay for the annual membership fee especially if it was a free trial. I feel I am being scammed.
Hello Thomas, Thank you for your feedback. Yes, some of our subscription plans do not include a free trial period. This information is indicated in the descriptions of these plans. However, these plans are offered with a good discount.
Literally worthless, because there's virtually nothing in this app! For example, I was looking for an Arctic Monkeys drum transcription (one of the most famous bands in the world, mind you), and all you get is like maybe 10 scores and notations, and that's it! The app keeps crashing, and the UI/UX is abysmal. It's absolutely insane how bad the site and app are.
BUT THE WORST PART IS THEY TRICK YOU INTO THINKING THERE'S A FREE TRIAL WHEN THERE ISN'T!
They prey on you, making you think there is one, but it's a free trial only if you pay full price (~60 USD). But if you get this special offer that will end in 5 minutes (yeah, right...) for only 20 USD, you get no free trial, even though they design it so it will look like there is!
Worst app/site ever. DO. NOT. BUY!
Hello Ayal, We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We are constantly working on optimizing the app. Please contact us at support@musescore.com with more detailed information about what exactly is not working as it should in the app. We will try to fix it as soon as possible.
Like many others, I was scammed by this company. It said there was a 7 day free trial, so I signed up. It was a lie. They immediately charged me $39.99 AUD. I have reported this to MuseScore (who clearly don't care and intend to keep scamming people as much as possible - see the other reviews below) and to PayPal. I will now proceed to report it to all relevant Australian authorities, starting with ScamWatch. This website is blatantly, shamelessly stealing money from people on a regular basis. I wish there was more I could do to protect others from being defrauded.
Customer service, Alex, sucks. As others say the site directs you to the 1 year subscription instead of free trial, and they don't accept a full refund. 100% SCAM.
Hello, Thank you for your feedback.
I never really intended to sign up. Just downloaded the app to see if it was what I needed. It wasn't. Then some weeks later I found out that I'd been billed for an annual plan (67USD). I never recieved any emails about my trial beeing converted to a subscription. I contacted customer support but they wouldn't give me a refund as a little more than 14 days had passed. Their whole business model is apparently tailored to trap people into subscriptions they didn't ask for. This is really a scam. Stay away!
We created an account in the MuseScore website so that we could access original full arrangement musical scores for three pieces of work.
Their website indicated that there was a free 7 day trial period. So we duly but uneasily entered our credit card details associated with the ‘free trial' link. This created an account but we quickly discovered MuseScore did not have access to the pieces of music we needed. This is for my son's exam.
We quickly cancelled the auto renew membership subscription but somehow have got locked in to a year long subscription which customer support says is our fault for checking the wrong box. There was never an option…we followed the ‘free trial' path' the entire way.
This is corporate robbery, deception, cheating, whatever you want to call it. We have come away with zero and no use for their site and MuseScore has happily pocketed US$40.
It's abhorrent - these types of companies should be legally challenged. Even more so because we were seeking artistic resources for a high school student. Really MuseScore you should be ashamed of how you operate.
This does not end here. We will continue to post far and wide so the public is aware of your cheap scam.
A few weeks ago I was using this site for violin sheet music as I have for years, they had a banner advertising.77¢ a month for students. As a student strapped for cash I decided to take them up on that offer so I could use some of the premium features of the website, such as downloading the music and printing it out since it's very hard to read three sheets of music on one computer screen. I went ahead a tried to buy one month of the subscription through PayPal. Now I don't know if there was fine print or anything, that's on me for not looking a any obscure sentence mentioning this, but they charged me for a full year! That's $40, and I didn't get a chance to notice till I had clicked pay because that was the only time it said $40. The 77¢ a month they were advertising was false and I tried disputing the charge with PayPal, even sent Musescore an email. To no avail, the dispute ended in their favour. These people are scum, they may have a crap ton of sheet music, but to get access to the features that make it necessary to play well with that sheet music well you have to pay, and they will take all your money in the last second. Get better MuseScore, I had been using your site for years and recommending it to my friends who also play instruments, but after this none of us will go back.
Hello Lexy, I apologize for the advertising that was not clear. But I can assure you that we have never advertised a plan for 77 cents. Furthermore, all purchases on our site are processed through a double confirmation of the price. However, we will take your feedback into account in future updates. I hope you will return to us soon.
They are scammers advertising a 5 day trial and charging right away explaining that there two types of membership: one with the trial and the other without. It is not transparent at all.
Hello Yaroslav, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry, but we didn't advertise a 5-day free trial. We have a 7-day free trial for some of the plans.
Gentlemen,
I might have been accidently tricked into clicking the free trial although I'd made it a point to avoid such tactics.
Didn't quite realise this because I never use this from day 1.
Worse, Goorgle has auto-renewed it in Oct 21 without my authorization and PayPal effected the payment.
Such big names, instead of checking back with Account holders, merily just proceeded with payment. When spotted by me, I straightaway asked them to seek a refund but have no response to either Google or PayPal.
Notification is given to Musescore to immediately TERMINATE any further subscription. Kindly arrange for a refund to me, via Google or PayPal.
