https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint Subject: Complaint Against Mobile Unlock – Scamming, Fraudulent Activity and Request for Action Dear Better Business Bureau,
I am writing to formally file a complaint against an online business operating under the name Mobile Unlock (MobileUnlocked.com). I believe this company is engaging in deceptive and fraudulent practices. On May 15-16,2025, I paid a total of $109.00 to Mobile Unlock for an online mobile unlocking service for my iPhone 14 Pro Max. According to their website, the service was supposed to be completed within "Timeframe: 24-72 hours". However, after receiving my payment, the company has failed to provide the service as agreed. Since the payment, I have made multiple attempts to contact the company through their listed email address and/or website support form. All efforts of a promised refund have been ignored, and I have not received any meaningful updates, refund, or resolution. I now believe this business has no intention of fulfilling its advertised services and is scamming customers by making payments without delivery. I am requesting the BBB to investigate Mobile Unlock for these fraudulent practices and assist me in either obtaining the service I paid for or securing a full refund. I am also concerned for other consumers who may fall victim to this scam and urge the BBB to take appropriate action to warn the public.
I was trying to use a pay-as-you-go sim in an old phone which was locked to the original service provider. I went on this website to get the old phone 'sim unlocked'. In hindsight, I should have rang the old service provider and they would have done this for free (as I had paid my contract with them in full, and I owned the phone). I read the privacy policy and the FAQs on this site and paid an initial fee of around £10. The site made it appear that this would have a turnaround of 24 hours at most, and that it would be a one-off payment, in which I would receive a code to unlock said phone. A few days passed, and I then received an email to pay a further balance of around £35 to complete the process. My mum is on end of life care, and I just desperately needed my phone number to make and receive calls. I paid the fee and the unlock code was sent in a few days. The code did not work, and after a few attempts I was locked out completely, with the phone advising that I needed another code separate from the unlock one. I rang the helpline several times, and there's never an option to speak to someone directly. You leave a message and nobody returns your call. I have written off the payment, but do want to advise others that this is extremely dodgy. The website looks professional, and pop-ups appear regularly advising that people have managed to unlock their devices, so from my personal experience I would rate this as a professionally-managed scam. Having researched this, I have found that most new phones (circa 2022 - onwards) are rarely locked, so this should not be an issue for most people, so I just want to make people aware that this is a very dubious site.
I am trying to unlock my phone and I've been charged twice so far and it's been a month and nothing happened maybe I'm going to get charged for the third time I don't know if this is a scam or what.?
While this claims to be a legitimate site, it is not. They first take money, in my case $24.00 US and then check the imie code. To start the process they claim the carrier wants another $50.00. You pay, then they string you along with what looks like a process, in my case after 2 weeks getting to 95% unlocked. They claim their contract with you is for 30days to unlock the phone. There is no support line, no way of contacting them Here is their listed phone # +44 (0)*******195. Try it. It's not in service. Save yourself the money. I'm filing a dispute with VISA to get the funds reversed. They handle their payments. I think the company is located in the UK, but they are a slippery bunch so they could be anywhere. TRUST NOTHING THEY SAY
Misleading advertisement. It states £9.59 to unlock a phone, but after an eligibility check they looked for another £34.80 to release the unlock code. The information relaying that there 'could be additional costs' was relayed very inconspiciously when creating the order. Their customer service took no responsibility for their misleading advertisement whatsoever. I would not pay the additional £34.80 and they wouldn't repay the £9.59. Net result, misleading, inconspecious notification and no satisfaction when I complained. Save yourself the money and the bother.
Just had my phone unlocked using this service super straightforward! The process was quick, easy to follow, and worked perfectly. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to switch networks.
Phone Unlocking
This site is a fraud app if you did transaction with them they will rip you off TWICE and after you did email no response and after you
Call also same
I had them to "unlock" 2 devices, neither of which will prompt for unlock code so according to their own website, no refund. This company is a scam. Wasted 158$
I can't believe it. They say on their website the fee is 24.00 to unlock - I pay the fee and then 24 hours later they say it is complete and that I need to pay the final payment. They were never upfront about their fees - this is a true bait and switch! I sent an email and waiting for an answer. Lets hope they do the right thing - or I will go ahead and send this to my bank to dispute. Very deceptive and can't believe this is even legal~
Guys mobileunlocked.com is scam, they charged $28 first and $68 for unlocking, now status shows 95% since weeks and no reply from support, only 1 person name Emma replied earlier and now she stopped responding.
Don't get trapped by the scammers, forward to as many as so other innocent shouldn't get trapped.
I payed 25$ for the service, to later see that they wanted to charge more. After reading reviews online, I realized I would never get my money back nor would I receive an unlock code. This is a fraudulent service and will 100% take money from you without giving you any results. Moral of the story, it's a +44 country code company scamming people in the USA and Canada. There's no liability nor contract obligations as it's outside the US.
Hopefully, someone will shut them down and throw these criminals in jail.
Had a very disappointing experience with this unlock service. Initially, they offered to unlock my phone but after the eligibility checks, they demanded an additional payment that was double the original amount. This "unlock release fee" was not mentioned upfront. I feel misled and cheated by this hidden charge. Transparency is crucial, and this company failed to provide that. I do not recommend their services.
They mislead you by advertising instant unlock. I paid $24 then waited for 3 days and they turned around and charged me additional $54 and here I am still waiting for my device to be unlocked. They have a no refund policy so o had to go through my bank to get my money back.
Complete scam, they take your money and don't provide the service. They hit you with the first fee then another bigger fee. Wait 30 days then they tell you it can't be unlocked. Then offer half of the fee in refund like you're supposed to be grateful that the scum riping you off tossed you a bone.
They just took my money a little over two weeks ago. That is all they have done. The refund policy says you have to wait at least 30 days before you can ask for a refund. I wish, I read the reviews prior to getting taken like this. This company is...well, you know what it is.
Well here it is halfway thru the month and I am still waiting on my unlock and when I complain and ask why it's taking so long the answers they give me aren't reassuring at all they tell me that it may take up to a month to fully unlock which I have a feeling they are gonna drag this out the full month if they even unlock my phone at all we will just have to see after this month is up
It's been past the three day delivery mark and there is no holidays or bank days and still haven't had my phone unlocked I would like a refund since you guys can't seem to keep the integrity of your business together huge scam
I put in a order to unlock my phone October 23rd.
Order is still sitting at 95 %
Keep checking my email.
I paid almost $90.
After I put I my order I checked the reviews.
I hope I keep other people from asking the same mistake I made by using this company
Code didnt work beware they totally scammed me my phone couldn't accept a "code" but they kept charging me and acting like it was going to happen till it didnt. This is really close to outright fraud. BEWARE DONT FALL FOR THIS $80 PLUS down the drain
Answer: No it's a scam 29.00 to tell you if they can unlock it to for the code that's useless unless by chance your phone asked you to unlock it. Save your money and buy an unlocked phone.
Answer: Longer than 24hrs if you pay afterwoods. $28 for checking then come back a day later asking for more ($71) to complete. I should have read the terms and conditions
Answer: I agree with previous post it's a scam.get your money and that's all they want.
