Got an Engine Check light on, brought to a local Meineke (located at ******* Memorial Parkway, Huntsville, AL *******). They said my car (2011 Honda Odyssey) need ignition coils and spark plugs replaced. Gave me a very good price ($210 for ignition coils pack, $63 for 6 new spark plugs plus $84 labor, but gave me a $100 discount for labor) which totaled $289.11. Sounded like a very good deal (ignition coils + sparks plugs for less than $300!) so I agreed and left my car with them. Came back couple hours to pick up my car. Drove home couple blocks from the shop, popped up the hood to see how job was done. To my surprise, the ignition coils were all the existing ones (old and dirty). Suspecting that they didn't replace the spark plugs either so I decided to remove them to check. Only 2 out 6 were replaced!
They charged me $289.11 for replacing two (2) spark plugs!
The bill/receipt clearly showed 6 spark plugs, $10.56/unit which is 63.36$. Ignition coils pack cost 210$…
Isn't this a fraud?
I brought my car to meineke couple days ago asking to replace the camshaft position sensor they ask me to do a diagnostic first for 70 bucks, after 4 hours they texted me the diagnosis report showing that I have to pay more than 15 grand for unnecessary work that I didn't understand, and they took the 70 $ for nothing. Had the worst experience ever, don't recommend it
I just had a brake job at the Auburn Maine location and it was the best experience I have ever had. Not only did they do it in record time but they treated me like a valued customer. Your staff is top notch and I will definitely return!
After spending thousands of dollars over time at the meineke Las Vegas Nevada store at 1860 E. Serene Ave. I was surprised to have been treated with very poor service. I went in with a loud whining sound coming from my engine and explained to Derek that it came on when I used my AC but now it stays on all the time. He drove my car and responded with the claim that he heard nothing out of the ordinary. That the noise was normal and not the AC. I was surprised to hear this claim come from his observation and responded that his it was an attempt to avoid honoring a warranty. I'm hoping that Burt the owner of this store see this review and values my business enough to look into my complaint and takes care of it. Like I said over the past 4 years I have spent around $******* at this location and if this is the service I can expect to receive in the future I can always go elsewhere with my money.
12/2/23 went for a simple vehicle inspection. My car is very reliable. Runs perfect and always passes inspection. No check engine light. Left with my car failed inspection because of a power steering fluid leak. My car has no leak and no noise trying to steer. This place gave me a list of repairs they want me to do totaling $1,150.57. The report they gave me says congratulations your vehicle has passed the emissions (I/M) test but was failed by their technician. This shop is very shady in trying to get unnecessary repairs done to make money. If they have any kind of integrity and honesty they would not have to lie to get business. Very shady business practice. I want my money back $25.50. I had to pay another shop to get my inspection so that I can renew my registration.
Went meineke on Ashley phosphate to have car service outstanding service showed me everything that was wrong drive the car with me David Paulson manager and mechanic very helpful give me suggestions one customer came in very disrespectful didn't want to pay for service but the team handled it with respect
I got a new starter from them in december 2021 and by april 2022 it would not start me car and i was left in the salton sea area and had to pay $300 in tows and then paid $220 to get it fixed, meineke in ventura owned by bill and terry edwards wil not refund me the $350 i paid them. AWFUL service!
Had mieneke reseal the rear end on my 2020 dodge ram 3 weeks all the fluid had leaked out I called them they told me to have it towed the nearest meineke was 120 miles away they would only pay $5 the other $595 would be on me. I took it to the nearest shop who informed me they forgot to torque my axle nuts. I called them about the clunking noise they assured me it was something under my rear seat
I had a screechy noise while driving. Sounded like left rear. Went to Meineke ( 28th St Boulder, Co) they said I needed new front brakes and rotors. Ok. Friday June 30-2023
Car had the same screechy noise the next few days… took it elsewhere.
Diagnosis: you need rear brakes and rotors. What? Meineke just checked my Jeep out and said it was the front brakes! This happened Monday-July 3rd. 3 days after Meineke had my Jeep!
OMG! Our associate hospital administrator took his Range Rover to the Meineke shop at 2343 S. Kirkwood Rd., Houston, Texas and the staff there are criminals. The staff told our administrator his truck would be completed on the same day. The staff lied to the warranty company and the approval took ALL DAY. They kept our administrator sitting and waiting because they were trying to weasel money out of the warranty company. They called our administrator the next day and claimed he had to pay more money because the warranty company would not pay more. The warranty company never said the claim was declined we discovered when our legal counsel called the warranty company. They were trying to steal at the repair shop. We are preparing a complaint to the BBB and the district court. SHAME ON YOU MEINEKE! SHAME ON YOU!
Meineke lets me get my own parts (read: much cheaper without the big markup) and they'll install it for me. Yet, I think that their labor rates now are just unreasonably high. I used them for about 10 yrs up until a yr ago. I found another mechanic who does equal quality work and charges much less than I had to pay meineke.
Roark sucks, don't do business with their franchise

After going in for a brake system, I get a call couple of days later that not only did I need a brake system but I needed a new engine! My car was test driven by the manager and never did he report anything regarding my truck overheating. Never did I see any signs of needing a new engine. They are bunch of crooks! I contacted corporate with my complaint and they are useless. They claim they run a business on Christian values, yes that is true they value taking money from customers.
I took my car in to have a timing chain cover leak fixed they ended up blowing up my mortar 2 different times this is unacceptable its been almost 3 months now and they wanted to play me stupid and reset the check engine light days away from having my car for 3 months they haul my car up to me claiming to be fix after i already drove down to phx 2 different times to pick it up i drove my car 10 miles and the check engine light came on i drove 1 mile and my air bag light came on they end up having to replace so many different items cause they were breaking them left and right after already having my car for almost 3 months they have to come back and pick my car up and fix it correctly I am very disappointed in this company for just the distress it has caused me. They do deserve 2 stars cause thank you God that I know one of the ex employees personally he kept a good look out for me and left my car in good hands to a guy Name Noah and he looked out for me and my situations telling the ex employee exactly. How this company was doing me wrong a 1800. 00 fix is end up costing over 6700. 00 not at my expense of course. Im just very disappointed in this company over this matter thank you
This is a continuing very negative of Meineke on 4th Plain in Vancouver, WA. Put in a new engine, and overheated and missed terribly when I picked it up. The shop manager, Michael, stated that they had flushed the radiator as I had told them to do. I decided to have another mechanic check out the overheating problem, and found out that the radiator was completely plugged, and would not drain even one drop of liquid. Still kept running rough, but solved the overheating problem, which cost me another $500 (Meineke had quoted me $620 after already telling me they had flushed the radiator). New mechanic then checked the timing, finding out Meineke had not installed the hose that feeds air into the fuel mix. They had evem put a rubber cao over the nipple where this air hose was supposed to connect to. That was another $160, but my truck is running well now. Mechanic wants me to still check on the harmonic balancer(pulley) to make sure the timing is perfect. BTW, the mechanic told me that you CANNOT time my truck properly without that little air hose. LIARS!
We brought a car in before we bought it. My daughter's first car. We wanted them to check it out and see what all it would need. They have me a list of stuff that would total about $1500. Most of it which I could do myself so I wasnt too worried. He said if we did those few little things it would run forever. Not a week later the alternator took a crap. The battery light was on when we got there for them to look at (nampa idaho location. Fat older dude with dark hair). He never mentioned anything about it. Figured maybe a terminal or battery soon. No biggie. But we're two females so... Yeah. We know they think we're stupid. Thought we'd have him do all of it lol nice try buddy. Anyway... Got the alternator and pulled it into the shop at my house. Noticed it had leaks EVERYWHERE! He never even mentioned anything about any leaks. You would think that would be something you should mention. Especially this bad! My daughter took it to them to have them do a flush and oil change. Charged her $200 for a 2001 nissan maxima. Told me it needed brakes and rotors. So we ordered those. Went to get them started and noticed it DID NOT need brakes! What a freakin moron! This guy is a total joke and needs to find a new job. Like maybe scamming scammers. Make use of his miserable existence. Pos! I will never go there again and in fact I'll make sure anytime I talk about cars to anyone I'll bring this up so everybody I know now and in the future knows to NEVER go here to even do much as have them do a simple oil change or even put air in a tire. Screw you guys!
About a month ago my truck needed a tune up. I took it to Meineke and they replaced the spark plugs. The mechanic also said my valve cover gaskets needed replacement. I told them to do the job, about two days later on a sunday my truck started skipping bad and the check engine light came on. I pulled over and called a tow truck.my truck was towed to the Toyota dealer. They ran a diagnostic test and said Meineke had put the wrong spark plugs in my truck. Also they only replaced one valve cover instead of two. Meineke also did not put the (0 rings) in the gasket, which made the gasket leak oil. Toyota had to replace everything Meineke did not fix. It cost me over $1000. 00 dollars to fix my truck. I contacted Meineke about the problem and asked to refund my money, plus the cost to fix my truck. Have not heard a (damn thing from them). Stay the hell away from them.
I paid $1000 for work on my car. And then to find out that they charge an extra fee for shop supplies. This is something they dont even tell you before they start working on your car. They are basically charging you for their tools to use on your car. Also on their website it says you get $50 off when you spend 500 or more. No where on my bill did it say they took $50 off. When I asked the guy said he took it off from a part from my car. But it didnt show on the paper and when I questioned it he just said he took it from the part already.
My car would not start so I had it towed in. They had it for 3 days and never called me. I finally went in to pick it up and they said that it was starting, running and ready to go. It died on the way home and won't start. I paid $390 to have a car that won't start after they worked on it for 3 days.
I went to the Jones town office to get my oil change, and I specifically asked that all liquid be checked and topped up and i was assured it would be topped up. But when I got home, I checked my liquids and I noticed to top ups were made... Now I'm even scared if the oil change was done... Now I have to go to another Place to redo the oil change...
