I have bid on multiple items, and won 2 of them. When I picked up, the items were exactly as described & the staff helpful. I would bid on the site again.
I highly recommend using MaxSold. I did the MaxSold managed auction. The process was extremely well organized. Every staff member was friendly and accommodating.
I have been buying on maxsold for around a year and I have to sat it is amazing - The items that I have found have been fantastic - I have also been able to resell some of the items I have bid on and won for a nice profit- though I normally keep most of the items for myself - I urge you to check out the site
As a seller I was very excited to have Maxsold hold an auction for the contents of my deceased parents. Talk with a gentleman who sent the contract to me to review. Reviewed contract called back with some questions which were answered. Signed the contract and set the date for the photography and putting things in lots, auction dates and pick up date. When they came to do the photos, they seemed to rushed and were told by the coordinator to put things in large lots--I understood things would be put in lots but not as large as they were. Items that should have been in the auction were not photographed. (Now I am glad they were not) Reviewing the pictures took a lot of time and they were not of good quality and did not show the items in a flattering manner. Should have pulled more lots than I did. The auction was a BIG disappointment. Many valuable items sold way way below what they were worth. Once the auction began I tried to call the coordinator had to leave messages but those messages were never returned. She was very prompt to return calls before the photograph session and the beginning of the auction.
Disappointed also because their website indicated regular bidders and not being experienced with anything like this, thought that Maxsold had bidders that they would notifiy with specific collectibles. Many items did not sale which is a blessing we will hold our own yard sales.
Again, I would NOT recommend this company.
Maxsold has been a godsend to our family! We are restoring a historic home and it has allowed us to furnish the home at a price we can afford. Thanks maxsold!
I went to pickup items won at auction at specified time given, no one was there. I called maxsold, received no help, called 4 different times, emailed, was told I was not there at my appointed time, WHICH I WAS, THEY had it wrong! Its been over a week and still no satisfaction. This is not a way to run a business, not happy. Spread the word, DON'T DO BUSSINESS WITH MAXSOLD!

I have been to about half a dozen sales and it has always been a positive experience. The items I have purchased have been exactly what I expected and sometimes better.
I'm a regular, I look for deals. I find them! Sometimes I find something that's very nice that I want so I spend a little more! I'm so happy I found Maxsold!
I hate to write a poor review because there are things we were impressed about Maxsold, but getting a hold of someone there to respond to questions and concerns was so frustrating and pointless! We have tried numerous times to speak to ANYONE at the company and it seems that once they have your business, they couldn't care less about you. Leaving messages on the phone or email was a huge waste of time. The biggest problem was the billing. We were charged for something that was stolen during the pickup even though it was a partner managed auction and there were 4 people at the house supposedly watching people go pick up their purchases. After the item was discovered to be stolen, the manager told us that the rightful purchaser would be refunded but we would be charged! After I complained to someone that evening via phone (after many attempts to get a hold of someone), Riley (on the phone) assured me that Maxsold would NOT charge us. A week later, we got the bill and lo and behold, WE WERE CHARGED! No one answers the phone to explain. I am truly disgusted and will not recommend Maxsold to anyone!
Had a great experience with Maxsold. The team they sent knew what they were doing, they were professional and helpful with getting the house ready for the sale and the day of the sale as well.
The auctions are done well. The attention to detail on the pictures are done well. The pick up process is done well. I keep coming back for more. I love these auctions

We recently sold my mothers home, as she was moving to a retirement community.
We had a fairly tight timeline, so we were concerned that we could have the house cleared out in time for settlement, but they did a great job of accommodating our schedule. After signing up with Maxsold, they had a team of 7 at the house within a week to photograph and catalog everything. Two days later we approved the catalog, and we were live the next day. Pick up day, Maxsold had another team of 7 who handled everything. They escorted all the buyers into the house, the buyers packed and moved everything, we didn't need to do a thing. The team was professional, very friendly, and compassionate. Best of all, the overall sale exceeded our expectations.
If i could do one thing different... There were a couple items that I believe could have brought a higher sale, and cataloged or photographed a little better to highlight the brand of markings. However, catalog day was extremely busy, so i believe could have done my homework a little better and i should have provided some information for these items.
Tons of interesting and useful items at more than affordable prices. It's your one-stop shop for anything you need from furniture to cleaning supplies-they have it all!

I love Maxsold because I can find a VARIETY of items at AWESOME PRICES! I am able to bid on Merchandise at my own leisure. I love that I can put in my highest bid and NOT WORRY about getting overcharged. Wish I had discoved Maxsold years ago.
I decided to relocate to my late father's 3 BR home in Maryland (my childhood home). Needed to sell most furnishings to make room for mine. A friend suggested MaxSold. I have attended several different live auctions and bid frequently on items in on-line auctions.
I resell most items but have also acquired some incredible antique and modern items for my house. At first I was quite cautious about bidding online but after a few MaxSold on-line auction sales I have become quite confident with buying like that. I have found the Maxsold item descriptions to be very accurate and their photos to be very clear. Especially clear if there happened to be a flaw in an item. In addition to there transparent descriptions and clear photos I have found MaxSold to be very easy to deal with over the phone if I had a question about an item. One example of the help the people at MaxSold have provided is a call I had made to them with a question about a photo of a sofa. In this case it looked to be a flaw on an arm of the sofa in one of the photos. It turned out to be just a "postit" note attached to the arm. Upon my closer inspection at the open house it was simply a "postit" note just as they said.
Very comforting to know that the company is as honest and open as I have found MaxSold to be!

Boy was this easy. I got a huge cabinet I've been looking for a long time for such a low price! It was easy to deal with the person at the pick up, bidding was super easy, and I couldn't be happier!
Answer: The site states clearly that you must pick up your article at the specific time and place. If you cannot do that or arrange for someone to do it for you... then don't bid.

The first time you bid at any of our auctions, your card will be pre-authorized for $1.00. It’s an unfortunate reality that the market doesn’t always pay a seller what a seller thinks is a fair price for individual things (or perhaps even in aggregate) under a competitive auction model (this is true for any auction company). Maxsold does its very best to provide both a detailed outline of our process (www.maxsold.com/sell) and share our past auction data (www.maxsold.com/past) to prepare sellers for the realities of the market when items must be sold. Sellers have both financial and emotional attachments to items and so our job is to sell only those items they need to part with - typically items that will soon be a liability due to a move / sale of real estate / etc. as selling the items avoids additional, ongoing, logistical and/or storage costs. Our model, which includes selling everything to the highest bidder regardless of price, guarantees our sellers a finite and transparent experience that passes the logistical burden onto the buyers as they MUST arrive and remove, with their own resources, all of their purchases from the sellers location during a short time window agreed to by the Seller. This saves hundreds (if not thousands) in labor alone. The other elements mentioned were: lotting - covered in our contract and agreed to that this is at Maxsold’s sole discretion, removing items from the sale - which makes the entire sale less interesting to the bidding public, and disappointment with images - which can be augmented by the seller at this sole discretion if they wish).
Where other solutions try to control prices while having no control over time of sale, we give the seller control of time while giving up control of price to market competition. For people who have items that will soon cost them to hold onto, this is the most economic (and green) solution to the problem.

This auction was managed transparently through an out of state family member (an impossibility with other service providers) and a local family member. Additionally, our experience suggests there weren’t other 3rd party sale of goods options for this seller (as others would have denied service or cherry picked goods on the basis of lack of ‘mix/fit/value’ for their models). We are transparent with all our results and, although we are confident that a 3rd party professional appraiser would agree that our results were fair value, we are ultimately sorry that our seller is disappointment in this case:
