I am looking for the objects of the Second World War, whether uniforms, weapons, ornaments, nothing related to this historical fact, this page is great, there is a bit of everything, also their auctions are great!
Love Maxsold! The process is so easy and worry free. I thought going to find and pick up my items was going to be a hassle but it WASN'T. I just drove up, my item was right there, I loaded it and in 5 minutes it was all done. Plus it's fun and easy doing the bidding.
For the 2nd straight auction additional descriptions details for many of my lots were never added after submitting to Maxsold in the requested timeframe. This is either a major flaw in your system or just laziness by the staff to enter the additional very detailed information for many of the lots. Very disappointed.
I cannot say enough good about Max Sold! From beginning to end they were fantastic. I was faced with clearing out my Mother's apartment by December 31st. I contacted them November 15 and it was all over by December 9th. I think my moment came when I watched the 7ft long buffet go out the door and the buyer questioning his wife as to how they were going to get it in the house. I thought to myself "not my problem". I was overwhelmed and under a time crunch and did not want to pay storage fees or another month's rent. Maxsold made it easy.
Auction popularity seems to be growing which means as a buyer I might pay a little more but seems like fair prices prevail for seller and buyer Its an easy way to pickup something cool from the comfort of your sofa or in the office at the end of the day
I have won several items Sometimes i miss out when i cant be present at the end of an auction but im learning to be more comfortable with adding a max bid
Maxsold is the best easiest to use web based auction tool there is. It's that simple. I often bid on numerous auction web sites but Maxsold is the best for me. The people are what makes it sooo great. Here everyone tries to help you or resolve an issue while on the other web auction I use it seems that all that matters is the money the auction makes!
A MaxSold Managed Auction is a DISASTER with respect to staff, lot sizes, pickup scenarios and commission fees... so basically EVERYTHING is a problem.
They made the lots so large that no one would bid high since they would have been stuck with many items they could do nothing with. They will not do single item auction due to "time it takes for return on their investment in preparing the auction" - i. E. Everything is rushed and moved along if you have alot of stuff
Pickup was a disaster as well, items left behind or refunds giving for miscataloged items by MaxSold. MaxSold gave the money back and left the bidder keep the item for free without my permission or approval.
Commission fees are way above the going rate for other auctioneers or online auction facilitators. We sold $5000 worth of stuff and MaxSold took $2450 of that, for who for what?
I would have been better off with a yard sale and/or facebook marketplace
Response: It's disappointing that this customer had an unsatisfactory experience - should they decide to provide more details on who they are / which auction was theirs we would be happy to follow up with them and attempt to make it right in their eyes - if they choose, they could reach out via support@maxsold.com. Certainly, some of their feedback doesn’t seem to fit who we are so we aren’t 100% certain this person was actually a client of ours:
Examples:
“... they would have been stuck with many items they could do nothing with” - we don’t hold inventory or remove items so I’m not sure who we would have been stuck with items in any way
“They will not do single item auction” - we aren’t sure exactly what this is referring to. We have done both single item auctions (i. E. storage locker full of contents as 1 item) as well as sold items individually when there is merit to do so (typically items that will sell for $50 or more on their own like TVs, Tool chest, vehicle, piece of furniture, lladro figurine, etc.).
“Maxsold gave the money back and let the bidder keep the item” - if an item is refunded (partial or otherwise), the loss is taken by both MaxSold and the seller and full refunds would typically have the item left behind (unless the seller requested otherwise).
Finally, it is true that Sellers who are savvy at negotiation and who have the time to sell 1000s of items on their own time through direct channels can see more top line value on occasion, but the effort typically takes months or years to execute (so if time is a constraint, it’s not a viable option). Sellers who hire us for what we do have time as a constraint that will be expensive to get more of (not a resource that is cheaply available).
For clarity on MaxSold’s fees, they are outlined here: www.maxsold.com/fees. Depending on the model chosen and the gross auction results, the fees can exceed the proceeds (a typical) or result in some net proceeds to the seller (typical). At the end of the day, MaxSold does not decide what a Seller needs to sell - our job is to recover value on whatever the Seller needs to let go of (typically as a result of an estate or downsize) in the time given to us by the Seller - this unique to our service as others providers in our space simply will not serve 80% of the market because they do not have ~$8,000 or more worth of inventory to sell (the typical break-even value that enables other providers to conduct a sale).
As part of our core value of transparency, the results of all our auctions are available for review and should this seller inform us of which auction is there, we would be happy to publish the results in this response (as we have with all other responses where the seller identifies themselves). We do this as we feel our results are fair value under the constraints outlined above (that said, we are ultimately sorry that our seller is disappointed in this case).
Where other solutions try to control prices while having no control over time of sale, we give the seller control of time while giving up control of price to market competition. For people who have items that will soon cost them to hold onto, this is the most economic (and green) solution to the problem of getting things removed on their timelines (typically to support a much larger value proposition such as a closing real estate transaction or avoiding ongoing rental/lease costs).

MaxSold continues to reinvest all funds made in the pursuit of its vision to Sell. Everything. Simply for downsizing and estate clients without judgement: http://maxsold.com/maxsold-purpose/
We had a houseful of contents to dispose of and really did not know where to start. Our Real Estate Agent suggested MaxSold and we went along with her suggestion. We did look at another Online Auction Company but chose MaxSold due to fact Agent knew the Lead Allocator and we talked to her prior to De-Cluttering to get house ready to sell.
Great Experience.

I would suggest consistently including Maxsold as an online shopping tool no matter what youre looking for; electronics, furniture, fitness equipment, etc. Even if youre shopping for your first car, keep Maxsold bookmarked!
I love it. If you are willing to spend the time to sort through the nearby auctions, and you know what you want and are disciplined in bidding you can get some great deals. I have bout a lot of furniture that I take apart for the wood. And some great artwork that I wouldn't get for such a reasonable price. I have bought a couple of duds, but not many. And these are certainly eclipsed by the really good deals.
I am so thrilled to have worked with the great people at Maxsold! There were lots of questions that I had and I always felt greatful that Alana and Ann and others hellped me out. I never felt as though I was being a pest! It made a difference during a time of moving when there is much stress. Thank you Maxsold. The pick ups went very well except for the buyers not coming at the time that they should have. During a pandamic it was a comfort to see the buyers wearing masks and following proper social distancing.
The best way to take advantage of things that we do not use and that can be recialr, is to restore them to take advantage of them again, I think that many people walk in this wave, it is something practical and fun and we help our planet that needs it so much
I have been with MaxSold for a couple of years now, spent over $7k I recently bid on 5 lots totalling $500 upon arriving to the site I was immediately told that my bargain $2 lot was no longer available and offered the $2, it was a lot with many items worth much more. I believe the owner kept thee lot or a Maxsold worker found a deal. What I got was a lame excuse. The next lot featured a box of tools and some random supplies with a cabinet. THE TOOLS WERE GONE, they still wanted me to take the rest, I refused. Now I have to file a refund request online. After explaining what happened and asking for my refunds I received an email, warning me of my behaviour and threatening me of closing my account. There was no explanation of where my goods were, or any apology from the company itself.
I have never been able to afford 'Good' furniture, with Maxsold I can spend as little or as much as I wish. I have been able to replace much of my chipboard furniture with solid wood by using Maxsold.
Maxsold is an easy to use platform and they have safe practices in place during the Covid pandemic. Anyone can use Maxsold no matter what your budget, the potential to get what your heart desires is attainable.
I have been able to get items for a great price to enable me to have creative freedom without breaking the bank as I am a mixed media artist.
I reccomend Maxsold to anyone.
I don't know that I would have selected this approach if it had not been for covid and others being impossible, but I think it turned out to be the best possible choice regardless. The support before and during the sale and for pickup was excellent. Most of the lots sold; they might have brought higher prices if covid hadn't required dropping the preview day, but it still got almost everything out of the house and brought in some money, too. This sale was for an estate for which I am executor, and I plan to use MaxSold again when I move to a retirement community.
Today was the fourth time purchasing from a MaxSold auction and I have to say its a great experience. I've bought items for my personal use and to resell, some items that are hard to find or rare. I review the descriptions and view the multiple pictures of the lots and do research on the items being offered. I can expand the pictures on my computer so I get a great view of the condition of the items, but any defects are always listed in the description. I determine how high I'm willing to pay for a lot, type in my max bid and the rest is done for me. I receive email notification when I'm out bid so I can reevaluate my limits. And the last night of bidding the opportunity to increase my bids to win are always available with the soft closes. Picking up the lots I win couldn't be easier. The site lead verifies my purchases, hands me off to another worker who oversees my items and everyone is extremely courteous and helpful. Awesome experience all around! Thank you MaxSold!
Maxsold is a great place to find quality items as well as the eccentric and unusual. In this day and age it's also a perfect way to be environmentally responsible by recycling / reusing items. It's a fun way to do our part.
Don't walk, RUN away from this company! No consideration for the seller. Ridiculously low bids accepted. SELLER BEWARE. You CANNOT withdraw an item after the auction begins Give your stuff to charity before going with them. Super high cost to the seller PLUS a percentage of the 'sales'... Disgusting, parasitic scavengers enabling bottom-feeding 'buyers'. STAY AWAY
In addition to taking feedback from our Seller’s and doing our best to make it right in their eyes, it’s important to provide the following information for transparency for others that may be reading this. It’s an unfortunate reality that the market doesn’t always pay a seller what a seller thinks is a fair price for individual things (or perhaps even in aggregate) under a competitive auction model (this is true for any auction company). Maxsold does its very best to provide both a detailed outline of our process (www.maxsold.com/sell) and share our past auction data (www.maxsold.com/past) to prepare sellers for the realities of the market when items must be sold. Sellers have both financial and emotional attachments to items and so our job is to sell only those items they need to part with - typically items that will soon be a liability due to a move / sale of real estate / etc. as selling the items avoids additional and/or ongoing, logistical and/or storage costs. Our model, which includes selling everything to the highest bidder regardless of price, guarantees our sellers a finite and transparent experience that passes the logistical burden onto the buyers as they MUST arrive and remove, with their own resources, all of their purchases from the sellers location during a short time window agreed to by the Seller. This saves hundreds (if not thousands) in labor alone.
Although we are confident that a 3rd party professional appraiser would agree that our results were fair value (and that we offset even more significant disposal fees than they incurred), we are ultimately sorry that our seller is disappointed in this case.

MaxSold CEO Adam, did not abide by our contractual tort law agreement to deduct $450 total ($150 from 2018 + $300 from 2021) auction.) I asked for information before, during and after my self managed auction and confirmation, to ensure all would proceed smoothly beginning to my end payment. I checked and MaxSold insisted before the auction that the second option of 30% would not and could not be taken as I had arrived at a set agreement with CEO Adam for a total $450 payment. MaxSold took 30%. I advised MaxSold if they did not honour our agreement I would seek legal advise and present MaxSold emails as proof of our agreement. I urge MaxSold, yet again, to correct their mistake.
It’s disappointing that this customer feels we have somehow taken advantage of them - especially when, from our perspective, they have actually taken advantage of us and our community of customers who abide by our contract agreements.
This Seller was banned in 2018 after requiring more of a fee adjustment than we agreed was fair due to their value expectations. Value expectations that, as part of our contract, are acknowledged as outside our control as we control time of sale, not sale prices. ***We agreed to send the funds they felt was fair provided they understood that it came with the consequence that they would never be able to use MaxSold as a seller in future.***
In 2019, they asked to sell with us again and we specified that they would need to make an upfront payment of the minimum commissions as well as compensation for the past adjustment we did not agree to (as we believe we earned our commission, but we were willing to split the difference if they wished to use us again). No sale was conducted at that time.
In 2020, they attempted to conduct an auction without providing the upfront fee stated in the 2019 email. This led to us having to cancel the auction prior to launch as they did not seem to want to pay it.
Recently, we served this customer with an auction (in error) and again they failed to provide the up front minimum fee. We appreciate we missed asking them for it but they are now (again) further ahead financially than was agreed to.
At this point we are done communicating with this customer as they refuse to appreciate how ‘in the wrong’ they are for both failing to pay the consequences of their 2018 decision and now, again, for claiming we have done something unethical when actually they are financially further ahead than they should be.
I have been a buyer for over 2 years now, I believe in frugal living and recycling. The items that I have purchased I have given them a new home, and a longer life. Some of the things I have purchased were to upgrade my own items such as a set of Royal Doulton dishes, from my mixmatched everyday set I had. I have recommended Maxsold to many a friend and family members as a way to acquire things they may not have had a chance too, all done from the leisure of their own living room via a computer. Upon pick up of the items they were as described and pictured online, the staff were pleasant and professional, and I will continue to be a buyer for a long time.
Answer: The site states clearly that you must pick up your article at the specific time and place. If you cannot do that or arrange for someone to do it for you... then don't bid.
Answer: Definitely not on their youtube channel as they've removed the ability to comment. This alone was enough for me to steer clear.
Answer: Please see our past auction results at http://maxsold.com/past-auctions/ - every auction we've done is listed for public viewing. You will see the sell through rate for each auction, and you can calculate the percent sold. Our average sell through is 98.7%.
Answer: Winning bids are charged to the credit card on file right AFTER each auction ends, along with 10% buyers premium and the applicable retail sales tax for your region. The first time you bid at any of our auctions, your card will be pre-authorized for $1.00. However, it is only a bank authorization for validation, not a charge, and it is usually removed in about a week by your bank.
Answer: Hi Peter, We found that when minimum bids or reserves are put on items, they typically go unsold. For more information on why we start our items at $1 check out this link: http://maxsold.com/reserve Here are some Seller FAQ's https://support.maxsold.com/hc/en-us/sections/200632154-Seller-FAQs You may also reach out to our sales team directly at our toll-free number 1-877-257-7799 ext 2. Answer: $700 + 30% if they do the photos and pick-up. If you do the work on your side it is $300 or 30% whatever is higher. It is near the bottom of this link. https://get.maxsold.com/sell-with-maxsold/
