Went to Mavis and asked if they can mount and balance a tire for me. New Tire with the rim I brought in. I took the purchase stickers off the tire so they wouldn't have to. They REFUSED to mount the tire cause the stickers was removed. I even offered to bring the stickers in to show and still refused. I have never ever heard of this kinda policy EVER... I will NOT be dealing with these people again! PERIOD.
Evie, Gene and the crew at my Salem, NH Mavis are very thorough and conscientious. The shop setup for tire/wheel work has a very good view of Bay #1 where the tools for tire and wheel work are all easy to see in use. If you get there early (8 am on a weekday) you may have a whole panel of experts assessing your job and checking for easy-to-spot under-carriage issues for free. I have never felt an upsell pressure for something I didn't need. I have always observed thorough and careful work. Nothing they have done has failed later.
I made an appointment for 11:00 Am, I Arrived by 10:30 and my vehicle was only pulled into garage at 12:30 my online price was $856 and change paid $ 25.00 deposit and now they said tires and install is $ 943.00, stay away from Mavis tires
Came to Mavis last week for a scheduled appointment. And was not told the machine was down so I made a new appointment to install my tpms. I was quoted on the phone and also was told the sensors I needed to work with their machine. I went out and purchased the ones that would work for them even though I already had a set. I then get to Mavis and they gave me a quote once again. While all my wheels are off they came back and asked if I wanted programmed. Well that's part of what I discussed. They said no it's more. So now I am getting my car
Back with no work done even though I was quoted a price. Bad customer service and shady practices 2 weeks in a row. Stay away.
I had to align my own vehicle after being told that camber and caster were not adjustable on a 2004 Silverado! Caught manager moving alignment head on tire to skew readings as good. I took over and started process over with recalibration. Tipped tech $20 for use of his tools.
I made an appointment in Nashua, NH to have an alignment and four tires installed. My appointment was for 12noon so I dropped the car off at 11:30. At 2pm I called to check and I was told that it's in line. When I asked why they said, "Dude, I only got three guys workin". When I picked the car up ten minutes later, there were no customers in the store and less than a handful of cars in the entire lot.
Took my car in for 4 new tires and an alignment, left with a hole in my gas tank, gas absolutely pouring out of my car. Took it in the next day, manager told me that he could get me a new gas tank for $650 and they would install it. I told him I was not paying a dime. They patched it up which lasted 2 days before it was leaking again. I've contacted corporate and regional manager and have sent pictures but havnt heard back from them in weeks. Stay away from Hamburg NY store absolute scumbags and the manager there is the biggest scumbag there is.
Ken the sales/customer service rep at Mavis was so pleasant, kind and very helpful. I borrowed a good friends car today and unfortunately I ran over a nail I was not sure of the tire size i was cold and had just left work. Ken said for me to have a seat and let him handle everything
He could see that i i was upset and that kind gesture was exactly what i needed. He went outside to my car to get the tire size, ordered the tire for me looked overed the entire car and discovered that I needed a turn single bulb which he ordered for me as well. I was in and out pretty quick I will be.sending all.my friends and.co workers to Marvis.in Califon from now on
Thank you for a job well done
Mavis tire is a rip off!
I bought 4 new tires, paid for computerized balance, and computerized wheel alignment 16 months ago. The 2 tires on the right side of my work van were about to pop on the inside of the tires and Mavis manager told me he could not see anything wrong with the van that would cause this issue so they replaced the tires but still charged me for 2 new tires! They misdiagnosed my wife's van as well and charged us for alignments we did not need. Beware of doing any business with Mavis Tire.
Upon enter the establishment I notice immediately that I was in good hands when Mr. Jaime de Leon greeted me and was very observant of all my vehicles concerns. I've been doing business with Mavis in Lombard for a few years now and will continue with this kind of service. Thank you Mr.De Leon continue to lead by example…two thumbs up!
Stay Away. I spent over $2200 in January on 4 new tires, wheel alignment, balancing, brakes and an extra warranty. Less than 11 months and 11k miles later, my rear tires are bald and are not safe to drive on. Mavis refuses to stand behind these tires and take care of them for me. As a "courtesy", they want me to spend another $650 to replace the 4 tires. Horrendous customer service and no regard for my safety.
I complained that my steering wheel was jerking from left to right and I thought that my tire belts were torn. I was told that my car needed, control arms, sway bar links, and front tires…$1897 quoted…offered $1500 and zero out the tires. Let's get it done on Friday.
Saturday morning traveling on 65S I hear a rattle and some clatter like my car was crapping on the highway. As I exited the interstate, I hear a thud while applying the brakes, sounded like a semi braking, foot off of the brake…nothing…apply the brakes again…oh yes that's my car…now I'm a dud sitting at the light of a busy intersection with my hazards on unable to move.
After the tow, from my insurance benefit, the caliper was not bolted down, came apart and was digging a groove into my wheel rim. I also found a socket jammed on the brake sensor. Why?
I have included a video and some still shots. Be mindful that I hadn't driven 25 miles from pickup on yesterday to breaking down on this morning.
Mavis, Irondale, AL, did okay on second try. However, I do need to return for the wheel rim, but I don't wanna!
Driving through Georgia I had a blowout on one of my tires on my jaguar. The only tire store that had a tire in stock was Mavis tires. And it was the Mavis brand tire. I looked it up it's made by a reputable tire company. And more importantly the UTOG rating was 500AA. I sold tires for many years for one of America's largest tire retailers. And that 500 rating tells me I'm going to get about 40,000 miles out of that tire. Temperature A Traction A That is a premium tire with a ZR rating. 168 mph. I have priced other tires that only had a 300 UTOG rating and they were twice as much. With a lower speed rating than Z. The three designated ratings are written on the side of the tire as this is a government rating. One tire is pulled out of the batch and the government puts it on a vehicle and drives it around a track to see how many miles they get out of it. And then they rate it. It is a consumer rating guide. I find Mavis tires to be high quality! Excellent service.
Just found Mavis here in Murrells Inlet, SC. Wife went there a few months ago and raved about how friendly, helpful and quick they were. I went there this past Sunday and found the same thing. Go Mavis. 6 stars out of 5.
Yes, had an appointment yesterday at five the system is down. Tell me to come back at 9 o'clock today. Came back at 9 o'clock. This morning. Systems are still down. Send me to another one now I have to sit here and wait two hours never again will I use this place get your $#*! together $#*!'s
After an over $2000 radiator repair from Mavis Hanover Ave Morristown NJ, radiator fluid poured out of my car after I paid & left…Regional manager Stephen Mahler ghosted me & ANOTHER rep promised to contact me which DID NOT happen. AVOID this Mavis altogether & know that they have ZERO customer service
I left my cargo van overnight at the Fort Lauderdale location on Federal Hwy only to find a dent and scratch a few days later. They said they would look at the videos, then claim that nothing happened while they had the vehicle. They damaged the van.
Look at your vehicle carefully before you leave and don't write a unwarranted review that can't be changed.
Purchased 4 65,000 Goodyear tires in 2019. Had 1st sidewall blowout 8/4/23 (36,000 miles on tires). 2nd sidewall blowout 9/10/2023. Mavis acknowledged dry rot the issue and offered to replace 1 tire at cost ($67). I said what about the remaining tires they're clearly unsafe and Joe C (Asst. Mgr) told me to take it up with Goodyear. He let me leave on a donut and 2 faulty tires. Mavis clearly doesn't care about safety and do not stand behind the products they sell.
If you care about your rim and shopping experience, find somewhere else. I changed my tires in this shop on May 7,2022. After I got my car back, I noticed that there were a couple paint scrathes on my rim. On one of them, there was a 2 inches paint chip off from one of my rims. I talked to the manager, he refused to admit and kept saying their machine won't damage the paint. I showed him where the paint scraches are all around the rim caused by their machine. He became silent and walked away. If you like Mavis, do yourself a favor and try to avoid this location. Otherwise, find another tire shop.
Albany is so lucky to be able to count on such a reliable, professional and honest garage. My wife, our four kids in the car and I were stuck and needed an urgent repair. With a smile, M. Terrance Richardson immediately took great care of our issue and we were ready to be back on the road in no time. Service was speedy, courteous and fairly priced. Please bring M. And his garage to Canada ASAP.
The company has garnered mixed feedback regarding its reputation and customer service. Positive sentiments highlight the quality of service and products, with many customers appreciating thorough and conscientious work, as well as friendly staff interactions. However, a significant number of reviews express frustrations related to service delays, miscommunication about appointments, and perceived dishonesty in pricing and product quality. Complaints about inadequate customer support and unresolved issues further detract from the overall experience. While some locations excel in customer satisfaction, inconsistencies across different branches suggest a need for improved operational reliability and communication.
