Took my car in for inspection and was advised it needed repair but as it was a 2005 vehicle they could not get the part. I found the part brought it back to them and then they decided they would need another part before they could repair the first item. Got that part too and THEN was advised AFTER 2 1/2 weeks! Yeah we dont feel comfortable working on this car you should take it to the dealer instead. But hey bring it back and we can put tires on it! - I DONT THINK SO! I will NEVER EVER use this company EVER AGAIN! HORRIBLE
I dropped my car off on Saturday before I went to work. The person behind the desk told me that I could pick my car up on Sunday morning when they opened at 9am. Sounded great to me!
So Sunday morning rolled around and I got a ride to Mavis and arrived there at 8:59, and one other person was there waiting. So I wait as well. Then it's 9:10, then 9:20, then 9:30. I called their customer service line and the person there tried to reach the manager and then the so-called, "Regional Manager." and they said they can't reach anyone. Well I can't go anywhere because my car is locked up inside and I can't leave.
So I had no other choice but to keep waiting, 9:40,9:50, still no one arrived. I called back again, and they STILL can't reach anyone to get someone here to open the door so I can pay and get my car. The clock strikes 10am and still no one from Mavis is there! I've waited outside for a literal hour! Then at 10:10am, FINALLY someone pulls in wearing a Mavis dress shirt and runs to open the door.
I ask him what the hell is going on and he's even more confused than I am! He was an employee from another store that was called in on his day off and asked to come open the store. He cashes me out and gives me my car and I ask him to be compensated for the hour of my time that I spent just waiting outside and he says I will have to call the actual manager, Nate, on Monday as he doesn't have the authority to do that. Fair enough.
How was the work on my car? Great! Couldn't be better! My new brakes work perfectly and I can't complain one bit about the work they did. My customer service experience? AWFUL! I will NEVER go to a Mavis store ever again.
Avoid at all costs.
This place sucks! Ruined my brakes. I highly suggest you do not recommend this place to anyone. Did not need new rotors and my caliper went out the next day. Terrible!
A worker drove my vehicle and did damage to the front bumper and passenger side. They refused to fix all damages to my vehicle
My cars oil light never came on until they touched it. Now they aren't going to fix what they messed up
I came to them in need and they help expeditiously I love them and are so thankful for there services.
A new shop opened up in Bayville and So I figured I would help out the towns new businesses to keep them thriving in todays crappy economy that we are living in.
Went in to get tires and shocks and i wanted to get a estimate on what they would be charging, after speaking with the counter women and the shop manager i agreed to the estimate and proceeded to make an appointment for the repairs to my car,
The day came and and they held on to my car to the very last minutes of closing, went in to pay and get my car and the so called estimate that was going to be said price Doubled in dollar amount. Needles to say I payed and also started the process of getting a refund which they did refund me 400 dollars, but nearly not enough to compensate the exuberant amount of money they charged me over the original quote.
Let not forget that the tires they mounted and the balancing they did on my car left it worse then the old tires I had on there to begin with... Either they hired mechanic that don't know what they are doing or the machines they have are poorly calibrated...
IN short stay away from Mavis in Bayville as they love to real you in with a low work quote, but add on more to make you pay for Mediocre work
Negligent, liars and cowards.
Misdiagnosed: negligent.
Told me that only breaks were needed. Only later told me that rotors are needed.
When brought my car 2nd time, told me that all four tires rotors / pads were replaced. Found out very quickly that 2 tires were not replaced at all (charged me for all four). That's negligent. Apology by an employee was not even sincere.
Told me that they have tested the car before the pick up. When leaving their parking lot - the car was screeching with noise.
Multiple trips to fix the problem, only then going to a dealership.
They promised me a refund, and two mo the later - only received a partial amount of promised refund for charges and Lyft rides to and from, as they were keeping the car.
Manager Cody went silent - coward.
Liars about the refund, as every week heard yet another excuse.
Avoid this place. This is not how customers should be treated. They do not deserve your money. Plus, basic repair - incompetent.
I have proof, email, and texts for yhe evidence if needed.
Had the brakes done on my daughters Honda CRV. They replaced the front rotors and pads. Shortly after installation her car started vibrating really bad every time she put on the brakes. We took the car back to Mavis on Winchester Road in Huntsville Alabama before the one-year warranty on the labor was up. They said they couldn't find anything wrong with the car. My daughter had to go back to school the next day, so we didn't have time to bring it in again. The car continued to vibrate every time she used the brakes. We later took the car back in and they said that the rotors were bad but they were under warranty. However, they said the installation warranty was up and we would have to pay $50 for each rotor to replace them. I argued that we had brought the car in before the installation warranty was up, and they did not fix the problem and that we should not have to pay for labor. I can't figure out if they are just stupid or dishonest. Finally after arguing with the store manger over and over again when we picked the car up, he said "Ok just take it" in a really nasty tone. I have been pretty pleased with the service at Mavis in the past, but they are under new management and these guys don't know how to treat a customer. I will never take any of my vehicles there again.
TOOK MY TRUCK TO MAVIS TIRES FOR NEW TIRES THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE MY SIZE TIRE BUT THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD ANOTHER TIRE THAT WOULD WORK. THEY INSTALLED THOSE TIRES. WHICH I HAVE LEARNED ARE NOT TIRES RATED FOR THE WEIGHT OF MY TRUCK OR TO TOW AS I DO WITH MY TRUCK. ONE OF THE TIRES SPLIT WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AND I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT MAVIS TIRE. THEY CHARGED ME FOR ANOTHER TIRE AND SAID MY TRUCK HAD A BAD BALL JOINT WHICH CAUSED THE ISSUE. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A MACHANIC WHO TOLD ME THE BALL JOINT WAS FINE. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THE TIRE IS A P TEC NOT AN LT WHICH IS NECESSARY FOR A 2500 TRUCK. ALL OF THE TIRES ARE WEARING OUT AND IT IS NOT SAVE TO DRIVE OR TOW IN THIS CONDITION. I TOWED OUR CAMPER AND THIS PLACED MY FAMILY AT RISK. I HAVE VISITED THE STORE TWICE AND CALLED ONE TIME. I ALSO CALLED THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND WAS PLACED ON HOLD AND NO ONE CAME BACK ON THE LINE.
I get their a couple of minutes before my appointment and this is the second time that I've made an appointment and it wasn't put into computer.whereas their talking to me like I'm stupid and getting loud especially the woman who works their.
I go in for a simple oil change and these $#*!s tried to sell me a radiator. They took the knob off of the radiator and poured my antifreeze out that I put in the car yesterday. The guy came over to me and have the nerve to show me a video tape of my car with a lot of antifreeze coming out which was Green. The antifreeze I put in my car was Yellow and say that I needed a new radiator.
Then they disconnected my horn so my car wouldn't start and tell me that now I also need a battery.
I brought my battery a little over a year ago. Now mind you I have been here for over an 5 hours and these jerks think I'm dumb because I'm a woman. I know a little about cars.
I called the police on them and called my brother who was a mechanic for over 40 years. That's how we found out that they unplugged my horn and pretended to jump start my car. The woman and the short black guy with a gold cross earring in his ear were in it together to rip me off.
Never go their! I'm not the only one who complained about the
Service while I was their that day.
They try to scam people out of their hard earned money!
LOSERS
I'm telling everyone I know about how slimy they are!
I had a great experience here,
Great service and attention, also bilingual which can be very helpful to many people.
Troy NY Mavis tire. Corner of Congress and 5th. Okay, I went to Mavis tire for a 10 o'clock in the morning appointment, they said it would take 2 hours, went back in 2 hours at 12 noon and the truck was still in the parking lot. They said it would be any minute, I waited until 1 o'clock and they pulled the truck in their garage for changing the tires. After it's sat there another 20 minutes, they tried to put it up on the lift for 20 minutes, it looked like a bunch of circus clowns who didn't know how to do their job, the $#*! manager's name is Jake, very polite, but that doesn't make up for the incompetence, I told myself shame on them the first time shame on me the second time, so I decided to leave, I do not recommend this place. There were 2 other people in the shop who had been waiting for several hours extra and one of them was a girl who was waiting 2 and a half hours for a oil change. I checked their reviews with a 2.5 out of 5 rating, I went up to the manager and told him I didn't have good vibes and that they needed to pull my truck out and give me my keys back, he looked at me confused and asked what do you mean good vibes, I just gave him a look like you've got to be kidding me, no idea how this place can still be in business but I guess they just can't get good help and that's the way it is these days,You go to these places to save money, but after reading the reviews about tire failures, scratched rims, leaky tires and valve stems that were placed on brand new, I don't recommend Mavis tire, unfortunately I don't know who to recommend so I'm still searching for new tires, my truck is a 2020 and I don't want it scratched or ruined by a bunch of circus clowns, Then when I pulled away, a few minutes they were in my truck the whole dashboard and arm rest is dirty and greasy, just like the people that work there. I'm sure you can understand what I mean. Unreal.
Mavis Tire Irmo SC is outstanding, professional and hardworking folks! We were very amazed by there customer service! We highly recommend them!
Fast and reliable service overall 5 stars would reccommed. Very friendly and helpful. Everyone greets you with a smile.
Take care of the workers who fix the cars and make a career out of it if want get workers. If not I can learn how to work here.
Took car in to replace structs and springs. They damaged 2 of my wheels, wheel lugs, Rim, scratched paint, and didn't replace all parts of the struct and lied about agreeing to change springs.
Called for price. Agreed on $980. Brought car in, they said they can't honor that price and it's about $1500 to replace structs, springs due to BMW model.
I left car there and called in that afternoon, they said they are working on the car... 5 days later, they destroyed my wheel lock, drilled out 2 wheel lugs and damaged 2 wheels, scratched paint, didn't replace springs and didn't replace my wheel lock set and of course who knows what they damaged when they installed my struct without removing my rear wheel first.
I was left with buying 2 wheels, having to find a shop to repair the paint and buy a new wheel lock set. Yes they lowered the price to match the initial price but the damage alone is over $1200 which was not covered.
Please do not go to this shop if you love your car.
Today was my first visit for service with Mavis Tires & Breaks. I came in this morning at 9:30am for breaks and was told that I also need to repair my rotors as well as they were a little rusty. I agreed to this service and I asked the women employee how long would this process take. She told me not long at all so I told my brother don't pick me up I'll just wait. As I waited for 4 hours I saw the employees gathered around my vehicle so I came to see what was going on. The auto tech had broken my control arm. When I asked the manager what happened he said "this happens all the time with rusty cars the screw is broken into the car and isn't coming out". It is now 2:30pm and my car is still in the same bay and sitting on the same car lift. After several hours of nothing being done I then became concerned and wanted to speak with the manager and I said "I've been here since 9:30 and received no updates on what would be done". I was disrespected and dismissed not to mention didn't receive the service I initially came to get done. He argued with me in front of customers telling me he doesn't drive rusty cars and that I came in there with a "busted up car" per his words, and told me to leave. Several customers were there and unfortunately witnessed this. I tried telling him that after speaking with corporate they told me something completely different than what he told me but he insisted on talking over me and then called police. It is now 4:30 and my car is still on the lift and wasn't taken care of at this time they close at 5 and explains that they can see if it can be done by Tuesday. I told him I have school and work how will I commute. He said "that is not my problem there's nothing I can do so call corporate and leave". Unfortunately I had to leave my vehicle there for them to bring in someone who actually knows how to fix my vehicle and the problems they have now caused. I would not recommend a trip here as they Assistant Manager isn't accommodating under any circumstance! Something needs to be done!
The company has garnered mixed feedback regarding its reputation and customer service. Positive sentiments highlight the quality of service and products, with many customers appreciating thorough and conscientious work, as well as friendly staff interactions. However, a significant number of reviews express frustrations related to service delays, miscommunication about appointments, and perceived dishonesty in pricing and product quality. Complaints about inadequate customer support and unresolved issues further detract from the overall experience. While some locations excel in customer satisfaction, inconsistencies across different branches suggest a need for improved operational reliability and communication.
