I signed up for six months at $131.00 thinking this was a legit dating site. After 48 hours every lady I contacted, or who contacted me turned out to be from Ghana, or the Ukraine, or somewhere OTHER than their profile!
I emailed asking for a refund. No reply... After a few more days, and MANY more bogus contacts, I was told I needed to call a number for a refund. When I called the number, I was told there's a NO REFUND POLICY! PERIOD!
Screw their cute commercials, and fun advertising, this site is a pure, 100%, rip-off...
Don't go there!

Didn't subscribe and i am glad i didn't. I got pictures of men i truly wasn't in color, height, and social stuff. What a waste of money it would have been. Post your pictures and then ugly comes from all sides. Its terrible that they prey on you for money and all you get are pictures or so called connections with someone that you aren't interesting in. This dating site sucks.
I have used Match.com on and off for 3 years. I like the features offered, but the last few times, had trouble accessing my email. When I called the company and said that if I couldn't read or send emails, I would want a refund as I had spent time with a customer service rep trying to fix it to no avail. I spoke to another rep and he was nice enough, but he said he couldn't refund my money eventhough I couldn't use my email at Match. He referred me to a supervisor, who wasn't nice or patient and was told by him that they would not do a refund even if I couldn't access my mail. I am done with Match.com!
They scene your photo and let photo on with text # on them and they want money beware. They sell your email and you well email from email, match.com about woman that want to meet you and there profile is not finist
I tried match.com on 2015 for 3 months and canceled it. I canceled the email account I used for it. Now after more than a year later I realized that they are still charging me. I called the customer service and tell them that I have not even log on the their sit after the 3 month. No, they won't check. They won't give me the manager's name, number or any contect information. Most arrogant and enraging. Don't have to say that I didn't get a date during that 3 months. Rotten business.
When I cancelled, there WAS a 'hidden' "do not automatically renew" which I selected. After about 2 years, I wound up SCREAMING at a match.com representative to cancel my subscription.
They bold-faced (though I couldn't see the face) LIED to me. If my husband drops dead tomorrow, (didn't meet on match), I'm going to eHarmony.
Never again. NEVER (something I can say with complete confidence)
I was only on a few days uploaded photos approved by match but was then terminated for some photo reason but they would not tell me other than I violated terms of use, all photos were approved by them, go figure and that I would have to take them to court to get the reason why acct was terminated. I was close to making a connection or so they say. I believe it. S all shady and a scam. Not real Lj24
No zero available. The worst service. I tried to cancel my subscription several time & it wouldn't give me confirmation, when I finally cancelled my subscription to match.com the day my new subscription was to start, they refused to give me a full refund & charged me for 3 months. Many, many old & fraudulent profiles, i received many inquires which turned out to be scammers trying to get money. The worst experience, i wouldn't use match again ever & WARNING to others for the extremely poor customer service & business practices. I have received nothing for the 3 month fee & removed all my info from the service. They keep rebilling my card.
I joined match a few days ago. I thought that I would pay $21 a month for 6 months. I check my account and it had taken the full amount out of my account. Which ended up being $139. As soon as I signed up and checked my account I tried to get a refund, within 5 minutes of signing. THEY DON'T GIVE REFUNDS. I then decided to make the best of it because I already spent a fortune. I've messaged a few people with no replies. I went to see if they read the messages. Then there is a link saying GUARANTEE THEY CAN REPLY. They literally can't reply without paying an additional $56 for the 6 months. Are you kidding me?!?! What was the point of me paying in the first place. I don't care to look at pictures of people that I can't talk to. BIGGEST SCAM EVER!
Be CAREFUL, please read. An advise from a friend
If you ever decide to try this website, the first thing you need to do is subscribe and then go to the setting and cancel your subscription. If you do not do that then they will autocharge you once your subscription is over! They made me pay for total 9 month with out me knowing when I wanted to use the site only for 3 month! If you cancel your subscription directly, you can still use it until your terms are over, and you will not be autocharged.
I joined Match.com because my children encouraged me to, but since joining I've found that the website preys upon the elderly and computer illiterate by spamming their inboxes with emails of "new matches", which upon clicking lead you to accidentally select upsells that then automatically charge your linked credit card (Without re-confirming credit card number or anything). This site is nothing but scams, extremely unprofessional, with the most outdated user interface I've experienced in the 2000s. Didn't meet anyone, except a few shady women who seemed to be run by a bot. Stay away from this site.
The service Match offers is fine and does what it says it will do. The problem I have with it (and others have had same problem because we compare notes) is that years after you have deactivated your account and closed it every way possible via the site, you will still be seen by others who are active on the site, they can still write you (and think you aren't answering) and friends will walk up to you on the street and say they saw you on dating site (causing problems for you and your partner whom you are currently dating). Apparently there is no way to get them to stop posting your profile and pictures AS IF you are still active on the site.
Over 100 emails sent out and not a single responce. Most profiles are fishing scams. Canceled my subscription and deactivated my account a MONTH ago yet they still just hit my bank for another $104 and refuse to refund my money since i did not save my confirmation number. When called they say my account is still active and visable and even though they charged me less then 24 hours ago im stuck having a paid membership for another 3 months. AVOID this site at all costs!
I signed up for a 3-month Match subscription in January of 2017. After about a month and a half, I found the matches were poor so I cancelled and I distinctly remember checking off do not auto-renew. In late July of 2017, I looked on my credit card statement and I found that I was charged from Match. I had a family crisis (my dad died) and could not deal with them at that time. In October I received another charge of $123 on my credit card from Match so I called them and I was told that I was still signed up and I that I had an active profile. I am furious about this as I had followed the proper procedure (I had been on Match before). The Match telephone agent that I talked to said that he "deactivated" my account and reduced my bill by $44. Stay away from Match. These people are sneaky thieves.
This a very popular site, both the Australian site and the US but it is full of scammers. Within hours of putting up my profiles I was overwhelmed with "Matches" that were 1000's of miles from my hometown and 20-30 years younger than me. You also get false "winks" trying to entice you to join. Whether or not these are from the webmasters or from 3rd party scammers I don't know, but why would a 22 year old sexy blonde in california wink at a 50 year old male in Australia?. Fortunately I didn't give them my primary email and I never gave them any cc detains and deleted my profile immediately. Be wary of any site that "matches" you innapropriately. I know this is a very popular site, but I can assure you there are better, more genuine sites out there that pro-actively filter out scammers.
Match looked like it was well run, until I was required to verify my account with my phone number. My landline number wouldn't work. I was told by their support, that I must have a cell phone. They wouldn't even accept my email address, like other dating sites.
Tell me how someone in California stole my pictures and changed my passport so now I can't access my paid account and cannot cancel it as this "diego12" as *******@hotmail.com has my match identity - isn't that just great! So tell me, just how the hell that happened and so far absolutely no response back from you - you should be shut down as everyone claims you should and for good reason. You should be ashamed of yourself for scamming innocent people - probably kind of funny to you as you can't make it on your own in the real world so you scam others to survive! Karma is a $#*! and it will catch up to you one day!
Try as hard as I might, I couldn't get a half decent date on this site. I think they show a lot of profiles of people who just aren't on the site anymore, or who haven't paid their monthly subscription. I wouldn't recommend this unless you are simply looking to kill time.
Absolutely worthless app. 95% of proflie are not even active and the other 5% are just message readers. Huge waste of money buying subscription. You can get better responce from a graveyard. Just another app made to make you feel discrourged and depressed. Please take my advice and save your money. WARNING! They will not give you a refund for their crumy service.
I have responded to several hundreds of profiles to these Women on this site not one time was I inappropriate in any way my messages that I have sent out were All sincere and complementary and not even a single response back either these women love the attention that stuck up or just flat out fake profiles if I had Known I would have not wasted over a $100 for a 3 month subscription I haven paid extra so they wants that don't have a paid subscription could still respond back absolutely pathetic
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
Match.com exhibits a polarized reputation among its users, with significant concerns overshadowing its strengths. Positive feedback highlights the site's potential for connecting users, particularly for younger demographics, and its broad user base. However, a predominant sentiment reflects dissatisfaction with customer service, marked by unresponsive support, unjust account terminations, and perceived deceptive practices regarding subscription fees. Many users report frustrations over a lack of transparency and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of mistrust. Overall, while Match.com offers opportunities for connections, its customer service and business practices warrant serious scrutiny.
