Where do I begin... After searching the internet for quality Jeans I came across this "MTOJ" website. I was very excited to measure and order my jeans the same day. It took several weeks to receive my Jeans and when I emailed them 3 or 4 times I finally received an answer from someone named Maneet. When my Jeans finally arrived I was very dissapointed. The quality of the material was JUNK. The measurements I provided were OFF and frankly I was embarrass to admit that I fell for this SCAM! My Jeans went directly in the garbage because they were too UGLY to be given to Goodwill. I could have given my money to someone more worthy. Also, I'm wondering about the people who gave 5 stars. SERIOUSLY!
Fantastic, keep-up the excellent service and I will be your loyal customer for many years to come!
It could be me, but the buy again/reorder function is perplexing. The program would not allow my attempt to exactly replicate my first (1st) order. Items like fabric weight, wash type, etc. I could not remember. So I had to reference my first order in the new order customer comments section. I hope this was sufficient as the jeans fit & feel were perfect!
I was excited. An optimist by nature, now 80 bucks broker... lol. I didn't read the return policy, even if they mess up, which they did, the buyer is responsible for the return shipping so they can correct THEIR mistake. *face palm* oh if I had a time machine... I do not recommend ordering from ANY online custom site based in India with a horrible customer service reputation! So does anyone want to buy a pair of hideous mom jeans. That seems like an oxymoron. In all seriousness, they made the waist 2 inches smaller. I can't button them. I'm going to take them to my tailor and see if they can add the 2 inches, and then I am turning them into a denim skirt. Making lemonade. Or Denimade. Don't waste your money. American Eagle, Top shop, Asos even Mango have very reasonable prices and great jeans with excellent return policies. Please don't give another DIME to these bad business people. I wonder if all of the good reviews are paid for or fake... I want to be mad... I am... but I am a big girl... I took a chance and it didn't work out. Buyer beware!
If you saw many of the other reviews they will give you the run around about returning the wrong sized item. Tell you that you are measuring wrong when you're not, etc. My jeans arrived and they are so small that I literally cannot even pull them all the way up. They told me the jeans were made to my measurements and even added a half inch on the thighs. But I showed them with a measuring tape in the exact spot they show you to measure that the thighs are in fact two inches smaller that I sent it. In addition, the hips/seat are 4 or 5 inches smaller. Again, they told me I measured wrong. I sent them all the pictures of the measurements and they are saying I did them wrong which I did not. I used a pair of jeans that fit me really well as the control and the measurements of the jeans they sent me are far smaller. They will not return or refund them. I had my 14 year old son try them on. I think they will fit him in about 4 or 5 months. We are the same height at 5'9" he is 140 lbs. and I am 215 lbs. Obviously no where near my size.
Do not buy from this company. They are in India and just want your money.
Not happy that I was unaware that there would be duty charges from overseas. Ordered thinking jeans were coming from States not Mumbai! Extra $32 makes this prohibitively expensive.
I want to share my experience, I ordered a couple of things from this store and I am absolutely delighted, the quality is high and the prices are reasonable. Besides, delivery is fast!
Bought a pair of jeans on a lark, they don't fit, now I'm out $85. No sense in paying shipping back to India, since they don't take returns.
On my way to Goodwill to donate them.
This is not the first time I have bought clothes in this store and I am very satisfied with the quality and price. Thank you very much :) We wish you prosperity! More new good ideas :)
I was a skeptic (thought the testimonials are probably all made up) but now I'm not.
I received my second pair of jeans a few weeks ago but wanted to thoroughly test drive them before commenting.
As with the first pair the time between ordering and delivery was very fast and I was kept fully appraised of progress at all times. When they arrived they fit like a glove and they have continued to maintain their fit and shape throughout the entire time worn and even after washing they slipped on perfectly.
The jeans matched the measurements sent exactly - which on other types of clothes from other suppliers has definitely not been the case.
The quality of material is excellent.
They took about two weeks to make (after they verified that I had goofed on the flare leg measurement and I remeasured--knowledgeable people and amazing service!) and then five days to my door.
These jeans are made with pure passion for quality, excellence, and care.
As far as I've seen, other custom jeans sites do not offer nearly as much flexibility, especially to men.
I will be getting all of my jeans from makeyourownjeans.com from now on.
To all inquisitive customers. DON'T HESITATE dealing with this company. I have purchased quite a few pairs of jeans and all I can say is that they are of exceptional quality and absolutely perfect in every way. They communicate with their customers in an absolutely incredible manner. I will continue to shop with them and would highly recommend them to anyone...
I ordered 3 pairs of jeans with exactly the same measurements as previous orders but when they arrived, they didn't fit.
I emailed makeyourownjeans and notified them of this and they asked for photo evidence. Despite the photo evidence showing that they had cut them too small in the thigh they refused to acknowledge this and as such I have had to refer the matter to my credit card dispute department for investigation.
I have found this company to be thoroughly dishonest and unwilling to admit that they have made a mistake. Even though previous orders have been successful they have really let me down on this occasion, even suggesting that the jeans will stretch to fit me. This is not good enough, I simply want the jeans with the measurements I ordered in the first place!
I have other pairs which have never been worn - due to the fact that the colour wasn't quite the same as the one on the website - and despite these being ordered using the exact same measurements, they fit perfectly, unlike my most recent batch.
I won't be using makeyourownjeans ever again. The customer service is appalling and they are unwilling to accept that they have made an error.
I ordered some jeans the first time with my measurements, and the jeans that were delivered were perfect. They fit perfectly, and the colours matched the advertised style.
So, a year later I decided to get some more made to the exact same size before the first ones wore out. What a disaster. The measurements were a few inches out and the colours didn't even match the colours of the jeans I ordered, even though they did the first time I ordered. When I complained about the jeans, even though they were easily outside the fit guarantee, they told me to go away. They offered a 10% discount on my next order, but I have already thrown $300 away on the jeans that didn't fit, so I won't be ordering again. When I asked why the colours were wrong they told me that materials vary between batches. I would have accepted that except the colour the first time was a perfect washed out navy blue and the second lot were almost black. A huge variation, and even 6 months later there is no fading and they are still black.
I think this company survives on new customers all the time and when they get things wrong they don't come good with their promises and they know you can't do anything about it.
This company sent me a shirt which doesn't fit. The offered no remake, offered a $15 coupon for a useless$55 shirt. I will never order from them again
These guys are hit or miss. You may get a good cut and they'll fit perfect. But you may also get a pair that is cut completely wrong. This particular "company," and I use that term loosely, does not have a phone line for support. They are email-only. So guess what that means? If there is any issue at all with your order, you're pretty much stuck with it.
I had a pair of jeans come back that was 2" too long, and yet the checking report stated that someone had checked it to be the correct size. Instead of apologizing and offering to help, the customer rep. Went on to tell me that these particular jeans were cut longer to allow for shrinkage. So I said, why weren't the other ones left at length for shrinkage and why did the checking report say it verified at the correct length?
Well, after that its been crickets so Im stuck with a pair of jeans that don't fit. Ask yourself, is lack of customer support worth the risk to have a pair of jeans that may or may not fit?
I've purchased my last pair from them and will be reporting them to the BBB and ITC. Good luck if you choose to take the risk.
Prior to this experience it was good. I just bought another suit and it picked up on a prior suit i bought so I paid for a suit I already have so now I have 2 identical suits. I explained this to them and stated what can you do for me I know the suit is not returnable understandable, so they gave me a 25 dollar coupon. When I tried to use it it didnt work I sent a email and about 10 days later I got a response through customer service which is horrible, every few days I get a response then few more days later a response. 2 weeks now and still not resolved. I also sent them screenshots of the coupon saying it's invalid. Long time customer should not be treated this way and your customer service sucks.
I ordered two pair of jeans and they were wrong on the measurements, to small in the thighs. I contacted them and after over a dozen email they said that they do not make mistakes and I was out of luck. I contacted pay pal, as I paid through them, I logged a dispute and they said that I had merit and after their investigation they sided against me and they said since they were custom made they. Could no help me either, so what good is pay pal? They accept a company and do not stand behind their guarantee. Pay Pal said I should notify my bank and they would notify pay pal, what a waste of time, pay pal gave them the same runaround they gave me. Can't do nothing even if the evidence is overwhelming. It was suggested that I let a lawyer file a claim against MAKE YOUR OWN JEANS. This company is a SCAM in every way. Their way of measurement, with picture on how to measure doesn't make any difference, you get what they feel is what they decide. Don't throw your money away, stay away from them. Let's see what my lawyer wants to do. Not finished yet. Someone is going to eat these jeans and it won't be me. This disabled veteran is not going to give up the fight, especially to a foreign company ripping us off. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
I have had some garments made that I wear a lot and that fit well. Most of these have been from having MYOJ clone another garment. The problem is that, when there is a flaw in workmanship or size issue, it's automatically the customer's problem and MYOJ is unwilling to stand behind their garments, even when they are obviously at fault. I've had a pair of jeans made that were much too tight and a sports jacket that I will never wear due to the fit and workmanship. I have found the fabric they use to be generally acceptable or better, however.
If you do want to waste your time and try to get something re-made or to have your money refunded, you can expect some pretty rude and unclear messages to arrive in your inbox from the folks at MYOJ. The bottom line is that for every three garments that you actually like from MYOJ, you can expect to pay for -and be stuck with- one that us completely useless. You could try for a single garment first and, if you like it, then get more of the same made.
Great Products & Customer Service! I have always been very satisfied with the items I ordered from here. I receive many compliments on the apparel I purchase.
If you are searching for some custom jeans and joggers, this company can be the one for you. They are good at delivering the best quality products at your hand.
Measured per the instructions & diagrams on the website, specifically the waist measurement. Produce arrived and was inches too large and had to be taken to a tailor to correct.
First shirt order, the measurements I took were not quite right and they followed up. Got it right and I am greatly satisfied by the quality and finish of the shirt. I will order more in the future.
First shirt order, if satisfied more will follow
Answer: They do not take returns. Even if they mess up you have to pay return shipping, and upon approval, they will fix the issue. They have certain fabrics that are fit guarantee, but it seems like you're out of luck if they are hideous or don't fit right. I just emailed pictures of the 2 inch error in the waist of a pair of jeans I ordered I don't have high hopes for any resolution, I think I am out the money. I will stick with store bought jeans from reputable stores with good return policies, Or thrift store jeans.
Answer: They don't. They state that they allow a 2% margin. What happens when its outside that? They ignore you and 'hope that you understand that'. Bad customer service, but you only find out once they get the product wrong. Use at your own peril.
