If you value your time and money do NOT buy from MakeYourOwnJeans. This is a shady, sleazy outfit with the WORST products and even worse return policy. Do NOT be fooled by the images on their web site. What you actually receive has no resemblance to what you see. They take your money and give you the worst product imaginable (poor quality and poorest workmanship). Once you pay them you practically have no chance to return the product and get a refund. I called my bank and they are investigating the matter. I have every intention of exposing this bad company for what they are and protect other consumers from such a predator.
I wish I had done my research - great idea but execution and product quality is appalling. Jeans were not even close to the measurements I put in to their website. Its incredulous that they even try and and suggest that their cutter had checked the product, I mean a blind monkey but make a better fit.
I suspect they are buying jeans from some outfit which themselves have discarded as being wrong and then this firm is just selling them OTS as close a fit as possible to the order that comes in.
Customer service - Harry/Paul who whoever you want to call yourselves are idiots - oops sorry, I'm the idiot for falling for this scam. I guess my moral judgement got the better of me this time.
Next - report to the credit card company and try and get my money back for which is obviously a scam. I even returned my jeans with a tracking number and yep - they claimed they never received them.
I got the wrong pair sent once, but it was quickly fixed. Another time I got a pair of jeans with denim that ripped when still pretty new and got no response from customer service. Otherwise, I've been very happy with all of my orders.
I have ordered two pairs of jeans from this company and the first was great, the second had a difference of 1 inch between the leg lengths. The right was 1 inch shorter than the left. Not great quality control. I dont want to go into detail here, but dealing with their customer service department has been very difficult and it is by far the worst customer experience I have ever had.
I ordered the 08-5 leather cargo jeans for bike riding. I got them after two weeks as per their timeframe. The leather cargo was custom made per my measurements that I sent in. I ordered them with zippers at the bottom and a quilted liner and I could not be happier with my purchase. I took my ride out this AM and it was chilling outside but they were extremely comfortable and warm. I highly recommend makeyourownjeans.com company for their quality products, super customer service, and prompt shipping to the US. I will surely be doing business with them again.
I ordered a pair of jeans following their size guidelines cant even get them on and they want a pic of me wearing them... cant happen. Please run away from this company just donate your money to a good charity
I've ordered three pairs of jeans (all in the same style, but with slightly tweaked measurements after the first pair) from this company, and they are my top three favorite pairs of jeans. I wear these jeans almost every day for work and casual wear, and despite the heavy use, they seem to hold up well with regular care (gentle washing and drying, gentle use of a lint roller, etc). My two oldest pairs are now over a year old, and they seem to be holding up well, with slight fading and good shape retention.
I ordered a pair of jeans before I read all the negative feedback this company is receiving. After I ordered I saw the reviews so I expected nothing when my jeans arrived. But they're great! I have no complaints. The waist was a little too wide but after checking I found this to be my own fault as I had stuffed up the measurements. I find it really difficult to get the measurements right - definitely get someone to help you or it'll show in the finished product.
Anyway - I'm happy. Love the fabric and the color and after over 1 year of wearing my jeans I'm also happy with the quality. So I am about to order my second pair now.
I just received my 7th order from MakeYourOwnJeans.com. The quality of manufacture is exceptional as always. It took two orders to get my measurements where I wanted them, and I've tweaked and tuned them with each subsequent order. As a tall person, it's absolutely impossible to find jeans that fit. Being able to order ones that fit flawlessly is worth its weight in gold. So in the end, I'm a huge fan. If it takes an order or two to work out your ideal measurements, it's still worth it. The prices are low compared with getting custom jeans made in the US, so you still come out ahead after a few orders. After that, it's an amazing experience.
I do not know how they could understand so little about sizing but they do. The fly is so short I cannot get the jeans past my hips. Try to get your money back and you are subject to lots of excuse emails but no refund. In one of their emails they wanted me to make a video showing each measurement.
Looked into "Make Your Own Jeans" after being sick and tired of wasting my money buying off the rack jeans that never seemed to fit me just right especially if you do not measurements do not fit the standard commercial size cuts. My first pair of Jeans needed to be tweaked a bit but since that initial adjustment I have purchased another 3 pairs all of which fit me like a glove. I especially recommend the Stretch Jeans if you like a body hugging fit. I plan to venture into their Custom made shirts in the near future.
I have been using makeyourownjeans for 4-5 years now, ordered 5 pairs of jeans and they've always been very fast with postage (to Australia!) and the measurements have been correct every time.
There's been two occasions where I've had to alter the measurements after submitting the order, customer service has been great both times and always responded fast to emails.
Not sure why there's so many negative reviews.
Very easy to adjust my measurements for a better fit. I tweaked the measurements a little and got an improved fit. Love the Jeans. I would say if the first pair is a litte off keep them but order a second pair with slight changes you might need.
This was the best options for ordering. I tried several sites but they did not take measurements so how are you going to grt a good fit? Thank you. I hope the jeans are as good as the ordering site.
I would highly recommend using this company for leather jackets as i recently made my first order for a custom leather jacket and I love it! It fits just great, looks even fab, and feels like a quality piece of clothing that I will have for years to come. They even delivered it fast to me as I had informed them to send it to me very soon. I have already suggested this company to many of my friends. I think if we measure it as explained the fit is just the way we want. Will be definitely buying more from makeyourownjeans.
My experience has been as bad as any I have ever had with a retail merchant. Customer service responses are prompt, but are patronizing and are really designed to make a dissatisfied customer give up in frustration. My situation: the jeans did not conform to the my order--1" short in the front riser. I sent pictures showing the shortage, and got back a response that refused to accept my picture of the short measurement because I had used a metal tape measure. So I bought a cloth tape measure, took a fresh picture still showing the shortage and this time got back an email saying that if I stretched the jeans tighter, the discrepancy would be less than an inch. To recognize my problem, the company offered a 10% discount on a new pair of jeans. Ironically, the cloth tape measure cost half as much as the offered discount. No way I would ever do business with this company.
People need to understand that if you're copying a pair of designer jeans that you need to take every measurement exactly. Because if you just give length and waist that's all you'll get. Simple straight legged jeans with no flair or curves.

My entire life, I have had a hard time finding jeans that just fit! I have a shorter torso and longer legs, and everything I found in stores didn't work.
From designer jeans to super market jeans-nothing I found was long enough or fit well enough.
Then, using a search engine, I found makeyourownjeans.com and literally everything changed.
Waiting for my personal jeans to arrive was excruciating but well worth the wait.
My jeans finally fit! I can dress my jeans up or down, wear heels with them, and be comfortable in them without looking like I have high-waters on.
Don't be afraid to make your own jeans - they are for YOU and they fit like a glove and actually appear slimming because you're not shoving yourself into jeans that don't fir, or being swallowed in jeans too big.
The cheapest jeans ever and I mean that in a bad way.
Put them on for the first wear and the belts loops ripped tearing the jeans.
They refuse to repair them and accused me of wearing too big of belt.
Then tried to sell me another pair with a more durable fabric. Fool me once Fool me twice...
BUYER BEWARE! This Co. Is a joke
Very good just wish shipping was faster Happy holiday's everyone
Answer: They do not take returns. Even if they mess up you have to pay return shipping, and upon approval, they will fix the issue. They have certain fabrics that are fit guarantee, but it seems like you're out of luck if they are hideous or don't fit right. I just emailed pictures of the 2 inch error in the waist of a pair of jeans I ordered I don't have high hopes for any resolution, I think I am out the money. I will stick with store bought jeans from reputable stores with good return policies, Or thrift store jeans.
Answer: They don't. They state that they allow a 2% margin. What happens when its outside that? They ignore you and 'hope that you understand that'. Bad customer service, but you only find out once they get the product wrong. Use at your own peril.
