They have employees that work there to bid on the auction items to run the price up.,( shrill bidding as it's known and illegal). I paid for items and drove an hour to get them, they told me that my account was suspended and that I had No items there that belonged to me. Ignorant ASF! Have not received a refund and they won't return my call. Look at pa Megan's law and enter the zip code for any of their locations, you'll see plenty of PEDOPHILES working at every location. PEDOPHILES and convicted FELONS is all they hire! KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR CHILDREN!
I was scammed! Bought a Lego set for $300 Opened it and it's ALL Chinese knockoff. No Lego pieces, they didn't even go with the set on the box. Pieces were in Ziploc bags.
Best place to shop. Great value for your money. Most items I ve won were in like new condition even though not posted as such. Buy the insurance if you are leery.
Why oh why do I continue to purchase $#*! from macbid? It's all trash. Pictures are deceitful on obviously destroyed items. Yet I continue to believe the best. Don't do it.nothing but deceit!
I wish I would have known about this place a year ago. I just upgraded the lighting and bathroom fixtures. I could have gotten all these items from macbid for a fraction of the cost.
Having been the high bidder at the end of allotted time with the site stating I am the high bidder it doesn't always work out that way. Next morning you awake to find that a $1 bid AFTER TIME RAN OUT was applied. I am guessing that an employee wanted the item and having heard from employees and ex employees how they bid up on items, and use nefarious schemes to get whichever items that they want for themselves. In the past three days I ended as high bid and lost by $1 the next morning. I called and the response I got was "Yeah sometimes that happens" actually it happens allot. I was also told that MAC BID is perfectly within its legal right to bid up an item to gain a higher price since they state outright in their terms that they will do this and if you don't like it don't bid. They will go toe to toe with you if they feel you are an agressive bidder and take all that they can get out of you. Though HIGHLY unethical and creepy that profess that they are within their legal right to be sleazy like that. To put it in a single word I would say "corrupt".
You can bid on an expensive item and possibly get that item for a $1.00. Mac Discount is addictive. It's helping putting my home together.
Have purchased multiple items too many to list, but they say open box get the item home and they are broken plus missing multiple items BUYERS BEWARE …. A good deal is not always worth it!
Purchased an open box item, not a damaged item… items filthy inside and out… turns on but does t work… what a waste of time and money
Excellent customer service! Amazing deals and finds. I will never pay full price again. I have been to 3 of the warehouses and no complaints,
I have purchased ALOT from the sites in the Pgh zone and for the most part, about 80% of my purchases, I am pleased. Most employees are great and eager to assist from retrieving your items to loading them in your vehicle. Had 1 bad encounter at the Pgh Mills site and that was with employees who are SITTING ON THEIR BUTTS when you come in or check out.
And to a subject that's pissed me off! When you look at an items photos the 1st one you see is the manufacturer photo then you see Macbids photos, many Of which are blurry.is this on purpose? Don't know but we'll give the benefit of doubt. The description sometimes tells you if it's damaged or items missing but that not always the case!
Yesterday I picked up a shop vac that I bought and she I got home and opened it I found that the hose and attachments were missing! Furthermore whe I plugged it in and turned it on the motor made a horrible, loud squealing noise and started to smoke and burn.
I called Macbid today to tell them what happened and they said that there's nothing they can do as it's stated parts may be missing.
Come on now! At least when you open the box to take the photo you can check for missing parts! I've seen some listings that do say that. And at least for electrical items, plug it in and turn it on yo see if it works! In my case you would have thrown it away! But no, you chose to advertise it and sell it. At least offer to accept the return but instead, you SCAM the customer. Shame on you!
Two out of 3 were not the items in the pictures when I was bidding. It's like buying a mystery prize
Company advertises online pictures of items not damaged and takes your money for damaged merchandise.
Very good service lvery good ove the products. People are always nice and helpful. I love shopping there will do more
Workers are very friendly and helpful.no problem with the app works very well I have won many items with great deals
Overall, I liked macbid, but I had a really bad encounter this past week from them. I bid and won an auction that was entitled, Miscellaneous Toiletry items - value $1000.00. I paid $240.00 plus the standard 15% they charge and the $2.00 fee per item plus tax. I brought the pallet home on my truck - huge, huge box - all excited. I began unpacking toilet paper, diapers, female products when I hit clothing. Half of the pallet ended up being useless clothing. I tried to return it (I was a member and entitled to a return), but the manager refused the return. He said it was no longer their policy. I called up and explained how it was falsely labeled only to be told "no" as well. I sent an email and here was the response: I am very sorry to hear of your frustration. Although there is a list of items for every pallet, pallets are considered open box items. Customer's are able to come in and inspect pallets or any open box item for completeness prior to bidding. Once pallets leave the warehouse, there is nothing more that can be done. I apologize.
Open Box items can be used, missing pieces, nonfunctional or damaged.
As an auction liquidator, Mac Discount does not inspect items for completeness or functionality. We encourage all of our customers to inspect items, prior to bidding, to ensure an accurate expectation of the item's condition. For those who are unable to inspect the item.
They would not address the issue of it being labeled incorrectly. Plus, I don't care what they say, there would be no way to "inspect" this huge box before bidding. Too tall and big. I told them I would have understood if the pallet were labeled Miscellaneous Toiletries and other items. Poor poor business practice on their parts. They should be ashamed.
I wouldn't buy anything from them I bought several things including two pallets everything I bought was either broken needed chargers needed batteries that were supposed to be included but weren't there I bought two pallets the first pallet wasn't too bad half the stuff was OK the rest was garbage the second pallet I bought was full of mice poop garbage everything was broken items were missing the packages were there for the item it was supposed to be in the package was gone talk to the manager too bad he says you bought it it's yours well that's what the Mac bit agreement says in this case I pad for mice poop and it was full of it I know how I Bit the Bulletand I'll take it brought it home and threw it all in the garbage there was nothing worth anything That's my story
Most electronics are non functional most furniture is damaged.almost everything is used.go check stuff out before you bid
Answer: No, there is one on the sure now. Beware of purchasing items you can't view ahead of time. Go see it before you bid on it.
Answer: They simply do not care how long you have to wait. Just hope the driver didn't find your item to be pretty cool or something his girlfriend would really like to have.
Answer: 15% + $3 + tax try bidding and being high bidder on an item for $1 and end up paying 3× that amount.
