Doesn't get any worse than this. It's a scam in terms of payments and their refund policies. They clearly take advantage of the well intended user... stick to 2048 or any one of the thousands of free apps available online. STAY AWAY FROM LUMOSITY.

This company should be shut down! Their false advertising and billing practices should land them in jail. There customer service is voice mail and you have to leave message and they say they'll get back to you and they don't! They continue billing you!

STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! You wish you would've!

Sooooooo tired of dealing with companies that spam, slam and scam you and then you have to try and work through your CC company to stop them!

This is one of them!

Thought I had cancelled, I was pretty certain I had. But somehow the "auto-renew" feature was on. No problem, I thought, I would just contact them. I was looking for a one month refund. I hadn't logged into the site or anything in the month since I had cancelled. No can do said the customer service agent, I had auto renewed. He wasn't budging. So rather than me walking away happy, I walked away annoyed that they kept $15 because I supposedly "auto renewed". We didn't see any brain improvement either which is why we cancelled. AVOID.

I seldom offer an unsolicited opinion but when I saw the reviews posted on your site I decided I would. First, 50,000,000 people use it. That is an incredible number and the quality of Lumosity's program based on this alone speaks so loudly I can't hear what the naysayers are saying. 2nd, Since the beginning of time the almost urgent recommendation from the medical community has been to continue to use your brain for something besides tv or the latest spy novel. Crosswords Soduko, brain teasers are all helpful. But Lumosity offers so much more. Structure, accountability, challenge, and fun. And I've never had any problems with the service. Zero, it's always been 100%

I subscribed for a year, and actually thought the product was good. However, when I tried to find out what the prices were for continued subscription, I found that: 1. I could not find out what those costs were; 2. There was NO oontact numbers that actually let you talk to a person who MIGHT be able to address my questions.

A thinly disquised scam operation. Signed up for a year's subscription and continued to get charged 2 years after the year had finished. Was only partially reimboursed and am not at all confident that Lumosity's greedy minions might not continue to use my bank details to take out money without my permission. AND you cannot phone and talk to anyone of authority. You must send "Requests" and get limp preconstructed responses from a series of dishonest who-knows-whats.

Warning!
December 14, 2011

Warning! This is a bad websight. They use every trick in the book and then some to trick and deceive. They do not respect there customers and feel they own your privacy and money once you sign on. They hound you with daily to weekly e-mails trying to sell you more.
When you try to play their games they don't always work and when you try to cancel the confirmed cancellation doesn't go through. If you use this web sight take a camera and photograph every page you complete because there is a good chance that you will not be able to save a copy once you cancel and you will need to be able to prove what you did. They are really tricky. If you visit their websight and don't sign up they send daily e-mails untill you do. The most interesting thing is is that the e-mails you receive before ever signing up will have your secret password on them after you sign up, so the original email has changed and if their is any dispute they refer back to these e-mails.

Stay Away.
January 17, 2016

I liked this for the first month, so I bought a year subscription. I am usually careful to deselect auto-renew boxes. We'll a month after that and it got repetitive, I could see that it wasn't helping. But they continue to charge me the next year. Thank to the lawsuit, I am aware of what is happening and switched the account off of autorenew. Will set an alarm to double check that they didn't charge me again later this year. The folks who run this site are low life criminals looking to take as many $50 nibbles as they can. No thanks to NPR for promoting the f^ck out them last year.

I have always enjoyed Lumosity and find it challenging & interesting but I cannot get them to reply to a complaint I have. I have received NO Daily Reminders now for a week (and didn't receive any on a few other days but at least then they answered my request then and tried to help!) Now no reply - I have written 6 times! HELP!

THIS IS A VIRUS!
December 29, 2014

THIS IS A VIRUS! I downloaded thought it was a free game but then they want me to pay for an account. I cannot get it off my phone or tablet and it is constantly downloading things. I've asked customer service to help me get it off but since I didn't pay for an an account I can't! I am stuck with the thing forever downloading.

Buyer beware!
August 27, 2014

Buyer beware! Linosity will take extra money from your bank account! I signed up for one year and they charged me for 2! They added the charge and year when I tried to cancel my account. This is scam to take your money.

I have been a user for about six months. I really like it! In my opinion, it is most certainly NOT a scam. I have not had any issue with billing (I paid for a year after trying it for free on my iPad, and did not sign up for "automatic renewal," so I haven't yet gotten to any potential issue on that). The service is MUCH better on the computer than on the iPad. The iPad games are well-designed, but there just aren't very many of them (maybe 12 compared to around 40?). So, if you only want to use your iPad for these types of games, I wouldn't recommend signing up. There is a wide variety of games on the computer, though. They focus on five different areas of "brain power." While I don't know if it's actually building brain power, I don't think it is hurting me, and I really do enjoy a lot of the games. The "train game" is completely addictive!

This company gives you daily brain exercises. For this service they ask that you pay for a year in advance. I did pay a year in advance and after 60 days realized this was not going to be a positive thing for me. The programs would not download to my Apple and I was in a daily struggle to download. I did receive their assistance explaining what to do to enhance the download process but it was a daily event that I could no longer deal with. I requested my money back for the 10 months I will not be using this program. They refused. What can I say. They scammed me for $40.00. I would not pay for this program for a year if you have any doubts about using it for they will not refund your money.

Deceptive--be careful
December 16, 2015

I subscribed to the premium version and one month later I emailed them to ask if I could convert to the family plan and how the price would change. I got a detailed email saying they would reimburse the unused portion of my premium plan. So I converted to the family plan and they refused to reimburse me IAW their own email. So... beware! They rip you off, even if say they won't. They don't honor their promises.

Lumosity website cannot be used on Apple mobile devices, since it requires Adobe Flash Player. This is a platform NOT available for these mobile devices, and even Adobe had abandoned Flash Player for other mobile devices. Disappointed, H. K.

I am furious with this company. I thought the cost was a one-time fee. They auto-renewed my service during a time when I was not watching my bills closely due to my husband's health problems. When I called them to cancel, they said I was on the hook for another year. I do not believe they provided fair or adequate notice at the time of the original sale or at the time of the renewal. Someone should sue them over this as I believe it is intentional. Given the characteristics of the population to whom they are marketing, it is especially aggregious. Also, it is highly questionable whether science even supports this crap.

I am an on/off user of this product, think i have purchased the first subscription in 2008, when their prices were a bit steep (i. E. Eur78pa), then again in 2012. I recently got another package at half that price and bottom line is that i have no complaint whatsoever. I was surprised to read all the negative feedback on this product; i don't play their games every day or even week as they'r tend to be a bit doll so i didn't get addicted to them; but i've definitely noticed some cognitive benefits and overall i take it that the monthly price i pay (from the41Eur pa offer) is bearly the price of 1starbucks coffee, so no real worries here!
