I was trying to fix a recording problem with their DVR. 4+ sessions with technical support yielded nothing but aggravation. They put the burden on the customer rather then replace faulty units under warranty
Cant sure them in court due to COVID19.

I have two issues with Lorex, I ordered 3 Lorex LNC250C IP cameras 1 from Amazon and a 2 pack from Lorex The "2 pack" came with only one camera, I opened a ticket with sales and asked them to check their records that the UPS shipment only weighted 2 lb. they refused to answer and after 3 more requests from me and 30 days they just cancelled the ticket. Issue # 2 was a failure in the pan & tilt function on the 2 cameras I did receive, the final word from tech. Support was this is a new product we don't know much about it please read the manual and let us know how you fixed it. What a joke...
As of 1/1/16 nothing from Lorex
As of 1/5/16 Lorex has contacted me and admitted their shipping mistake. They promised to ship me the missing camera and give me a tracking number when it ships. I will update when it happens.
As of 1/6/16 I have a shipping notice and tracking # BUT it is the same order # and UPS # from the first shipment. (a copy) All dated Nov. We will see what happens.
As of 1/7/16 Thanks, got the missing camera last night. But it should not have had to come to this...
Bought a 6 camer wirefree system 10/18 have been trying to get to work since then have bought everything the said i needed to make work over the last 8 months, even bought a extended warranty for 5 years, I hire a professional installer to come out and redo as need for it too work He talked with them several times ( said cs agent was rude) finely left his number since they would not answer anymore, never a call back They don't care about the customer or even the quality of there system It just flat don't work spent several months looking for a good home system not this one for sure still won't answer email or return calls even asked for a manager but to no success. My advice Don't buy LOREX
The first day I received my system it worked for a few seconds. Chatted with support a few minutes later as everything stopped working. Next day nothing worked. Chatted with for a week finally they mailed out another receiver. Waited another week. Now the real headache began.
Count down was already started for 60 day month back... Support and Supervisors were pointless.
1) Waited over a week for the Receiver. Installed the new receiver. Worked for another day.
2) Talked to support got a supervisor to call me back. Supervisor calls me 7am in the morning. (Phone is powered down while I sleep)
3) Finally returned everything with next day shipping, costs me $165. Lorex provided UPS Standard Ship 10-14 days.
4) Shipped on 09-Sep-19 and Lorex received on 10-Sep-19.
5) Called Lorex on 12-Sep-19. Lorex mentioned hasn't received my package and I have signed proof.
Called and spoke with Lorex just now and waiting for a supervisor to call me back. Hopefully in an hour and 45 minutes...
Worst service ever. Not going to order from them again. Not going to recommend this company to anyone. I just want my money back!
The only reason I gave them one star is because I couldn't do a zero. We have purchased two complete systems in the last two years because the dvr's quit working. The second one, we bought directly from Lorex and were told it came with a 2 year warranty. Ha. Called Lorex and they said that they would send a label to send the dvr back to them, they didn't. We had to call a second time and jump through all of their hoops to finally get a label sent. We sent the unit back and surprise, surprise they are denying the warranty. No reason, just denied on the account info. The warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on. The company is completely unresponsive. You are better flushing you money down the toilet. If you do buy this system, buy it at Costco, at least they will take it back when it stops working. However, by then you have already invested the time and money putting the cameras up and running all the wires. My best advise is to stay as far away from this company's products as possible.
Nothing but problems since I bought the system. STAY AWAY FOR YOUR OWN SANITY! After numerous calls and no call backs, I eventually got them to send out a replacement DVR, but wait it gets better! It took so long to get this done, I couldn't get a full refund on the system. Then a camera went down, took weeks to even get the "ok" to return it. Got the replacement, worked... YEAH until now... been on "tech support" for over an hour trying to get another replacement. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
What a great response from Lorex, same meaningless robosponse that they give to everyone else that they have ripped off. NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Since the "switch" on Aug 15, my $5000 camera system is worthless. Customer service/tech support is worthless... over 20 hours on the phone... no better than when i started...
I have bought close to 5 grand worth of Lorex surveillance gear since September both from amazon and from Lorex directly, My PTZ outdoor camera went out after 3 months in a snow shower. When i went to customer service to get a repair or replacement I am told it needed to be under a shelter and the warranty is void IP 66 is supposed to be proof against any blowing water or debris, The camera either doesn't meet these standards or Lorex is trying to con me out of my warranty claim

After lodging a complaint with the BBB and posting this story on every Lorex related site i could find, a rep from another Lorex reseller agreed with my interpretation and coached me on who to write to next. I sent that email off and recieved a call within 24 hours offering me a one time exception along with prepaid postage. Im just getting ready to package it up and send it off
I'm not sure what the problem is with this company. I've reached out to them numerous times to try to add a camera to an existing system. When I ask them if the camera I'm looking at is compatible with my my existing system they just send out a generic e-mail acknowledging that I'm looking to add this camera and suggest I call customer service. They can't or won't answer my question on-line which is hugely frustrating. Calling customer service is an agonizing process, you can expect to be placed on hold for 20+ minutes. I suspect the company is managed by engineers who have no sense of customers needs or desires. I had to update my operating system as well which was beyond painful. I had to reprogram my system, which is at a remote location. But wait, there's more: after a 25 minute wait I finally talked to somebody who told me that camera I want to add to my system (approximately 2 years old) is out of stock and no longer sold and no other camera's are compatible with my system. This is a load of crap. This system was cheap. Now I'm stuck with a system that Lorex no longer supports.
I purchased an 8 HD 4K camera system and installed 7 cameras. Spent a LOT of $$$ on the system and 3d party install. As soon as the system went live, only 3 out of 7 cameras worked. The problem was the cable, Cat5 of poor quality. I reached out to Lorex immediately and asked for a better quality cable. I was very clear that I did not want the SAME cable to be sent to me. Lorex listened and agreed to send Cat6 within 7-10 business days. Nothing arrived in mail. Called back on day #10 to find out that Lorex changed their mind! The best they could do was to send the SAME POOR QUALITY cable, which I specifically asked not to send. I wasted my time. I REGRET buying this system and spending HOURS of my time on the phone trying to remedy the situation. STAY AWAY from Lorex and spend your money elsewhere.
Lorex sent an update to my DVR and it stopped working. I called several times and was told that they would send a new DVR. I was told that I would get an tracking number in 24-48 hours. I never got the tracking number or DVR. Every time I called tech support to find out when I would receive the DVR I was told something different. Long story short I still have not received a new DVR. (it is still under warranty) When you call tech support you just get a rude Indian that you can barely understand. It is obvious that they are just trying to get you off the phone. DO NOT BUY LOREX. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS! BUYER BEWARE!
I have a LHA4216-D you cant even find the product in their web or cameras for that product that I bought just a couple of years ago. The caneras go randomly weird or plain ofd and the system keeps reinitiating it self several times a day. One product I bought from their web page more than a year ago has never lift their warehouse I can still see the order on the port in my account, no explanation, no email, no body knows nothing, what a poor customer servuce. One port on my dvr just do not work anymore, my house is extremelly well protected by the power side with two top of the line kind I surge protector, kind iI and kind iII at the equipment port. It is just their bad quality, nothing else. I uses to like this brand back in the time when they proudly exhibit the "by flir" logo. I see what they do not anymore. Do yourself a favor an stay away.
We purchased 8 cameras from Lorex. We had a professional installer put them in. Within the warranty period, three of the cameras failed. We called Lorex and they sent us to their technical support. In the meantime, we had the same installer business recheck the three cameras to see if they had made a connection problem. They connections were all correct, and they verified that the three cameras were at fault. We called technical support and they kept us on the phone for two hours. We had to check this and that; this number on the adapter and this number on the DVR, on the plugs, you name it. Then they said they would not replace it without the individual serial numbers on the cameras in question. Since most of the cameras were twenty to thirty ft high, only one was close enough to get that number. Now they want the installer to call them. Most places would send you a box with the paperwork, and you send the faulty cameras, then new replacement cameras would be sent to you. My suggestion: buy local, buy American and buy from a company that sells and installs the cameras and have a maintenance plan. Lorex does NOT care about their customers and tries to squirm out of responsibility to replace faulty ones.
Purchased their wireless 4 camera with DVR slow shipping and then right out of the box one faulty camera spent an hour on the phone with a tech to determine that promised a camera would be shipped next day it was not called told it would not be shipped for at least 4 days I objected to it taking so long was told too bad basically got it a week later. As far as distance the wireless cameras can be placed it is nowhere near what they say maybe in a field but not around a house camera resolution is not bad and they were not hard to install but cameras are made cheaply and only have a 3 ft wire before you have to connect to power supply the connection is not weatherproof so you have to get it inside within 3 ft or protect it from weather if you buy the extension cord it comes with a weatherproof connector which is basically a thread on plastic cover probably worth 10 cents I don't know why they do not include it with the basic power supply
I would not recommend this unit unless you need a wireless system that does not need wifi
Cameras are decent for what you pay. I have bought from them for my studio to be monitored, I have no complaints. You get a good product for the price.
I have a Flir FX wireless security system for some lake property. It was not the highest quality cameras, but it worked good with the app. Then in August Lorex announced it would no longer support the system. We have not had a security system at the lake since then and have been working with Lorex to get a replacement. They initially sent us inferior replacement cameras that were trash. They agreed to take them back and provide us with a $120 credit per camera with which we could purchase any other Lorex camera. It took forever to get them to receive the return cameras and provide us with the credit. We then put in our order and we have been waiting a month for them to ship the cameras. They are not on back order. After many frustrating phone calls, they finally prepared a shipping label with a tracking number - that was 2 weeks ago - they still have not delivered the package to UPS. My case has been escalated many times with supervisor reviews. I have been told so many lies. Here it is 4 months since they shut down my security system, and I still do not have replacement cameras. It is obvious they do not intend to honor their word. Do not buy from them. They are probably filing bankruptcy at this moment. They do not intend to send me the cameras. Don't know what else to say.
I bought a wireless camera system about 3 years ago. It's ran by battery's only, that is one of the problems. It seems like I have to change the battery at least once a week on each one and there are six cameras. The system came with one extra battery, which is ok, but the battery takes a long time to charge. Which brings to me my biggest gripe. I decided to purchase extra batteries, I went to their website and the batteries I needed did not have a price or a place to select it for purchase, thereby I called them. I gave them the model number on the battery and they sent me the batteries, well they were the wrong batteries. Now I am trying to send it back for a refunded. I went back and forth on the phone and emails and was finally successful after about a month of going back and for the phone. When I was finally approved for the return, they said UPS would send me the return shipping label, well that was wrong. I went back and forth about the shipping label issue for a week. I called UPS and I was told they don't email shipping label and that it was Lorex who are suppose to send me the labels. Again, Lorex customer service was adamant that UPS will email me the labels. I finally decided to try the chat on line and they were able to email me the labels.
Their testing department and support is a total failure. In May 2019, I could not watch any of my cameras (multiple locations). I was told after long talk with support guys that the problem is on their side and it will fix itself in couple of day and it got fixed. I had to spend 45 minutes or so to get this message. It should have been not more than 5 minutes.
Now Aug 2019, the latest FW upgrade has stopped all my cameras again. First I was told to hook up a monitor and mouse to the recorder unit and call them back (after 2 hours on the phone with support person). I had hard time understanding the people on the phone (I made multiple phone calls), phones are bad and the accent does not help either. Finally after hooking up the monitor and mouse, my unit is in the attic, I was told I have to hook up a computer in the same network. I hooked up the computer in the same network and now they wanted to change my router, so I had to figure out all the information for the router. After they changed the router they are telling me that I need to call my ISP. This is a Joke, right?
Why don't you provide me the old FW (or new one that fixes this problem) and let me upgrade the fw using the usb.
I would give away the system free to anyone who wants it. Piece of Junk, don't bother.
To make a very long story short here goes... Purchased a wireless system and they quickly charged my card and SLOWLY shipped my item. Connected cameras and dvr guess what. No picture. Tech support informs me cameras and dvr are not compatible but they did nicely inform my of proper camera model but stated I needed to call Flir tomorrow and the would send me proper cameras. Well hour wait on phone and support says they have to forward the ticket... several days later and grueling hours on hold finally have several " supervisors " tell me the cameras will be shipped and a tracking number sent... 24 to 48 hrs. Surprise... nope. No tracking number. On the phone again with support and its always a party in the background,, I think its when they hang up on a customer they just gave the runaround to, they celebrate. Anyway once again the story of ticket has been forwarded and cameras will be shipped for sure this time. Lol. Finally an email. Order shipped. Excitedly open the email and what a surprise, disappointment actually. These scammers sent me a tracking number for my original, incorrect order. So I guess it will be another hour of two of my life that I will never get back wasted on the phone with a bunch of crooks.

Three cameras went bad in 6months. Took forever to get replacements. Had to threaten to call BBB before I could get replacements. The replacements were no better than the bad cameras. One would not work out of the box. One quit working after a month. One freezes up and now has quit working. DID NOT TRY TO GET REPLACEMENTS. NOT WORTH IT. WILL BUY ANOTHER BRAND.
