Absolutely do not buy Lorex products. They're faulty and couldn't even alert us that someone was breaking into our home! They also cannot even catch a cat that vomits in our lawn every night -- doesn't pick it up even right in front of the camera! Their tech and customer support is TERRIBLE. Unhelpful, uneducated on the products, and no deep desire to stand by the products either. Only buy these if you WANT TO GET ROBBED. They're HORRIFIC.
Company don't care after you buy Lorex system. His customer support is not good.If you have a problem and you have a lots of time to wait then call support center because there waiting time is tooooooooo longgggggggg and after all they don't care about your problem.
UPDATE: After some time someone at Lorex contacted me and and then sent a replacement unit. I am now upgrading my review to 4-stars. Thank you Lorex.
My DVR has failed. I contacted support via email on Dec. 3rd and got no response. I called them on the 9th and they promised to send me a shipping label so I can return my unit for exchange. On the 13th I called customer service only to be disconnected after automated system told me something 'beyond their control' prevents them from answering phone. I selected the call back option and did not hear from anyone. Today (the 14th) is a repeat of yesterday. No response and still waiting for a call back that I know will never come.
I was foolish to believe that this was a reputable company and I wish I would have spent more money on a DVR from a company that stands behind their products.
I have owned this $2300 Lorex NR916 4K 8mp 16 camera system for almost 2 years and have had nothing but trouble. Lorex has replaced the NVR 3 times due to various issues leaving me with no recorder for 3 weeks each time. The night vision has always been horrible & I have spoken to Lorex at least 2 dozen times about it. The first photo is 8 feet from the camera "spot the person". The second photo is about 15 feet from the camera.
The specs and the hardware seem to be pretty good, but the support is horrible. Lorex support consists of telling you to reset to default config and reconfig. That is the absolutely worst customer support I've ever heard of. Software is not very intuitive, and support is lazy. I'm a tech geek and have installed several systems, and I work in IT so a lot of the configuration is natural for me. I spent almost 2K for stuff that works but even getting the wireless doorbell to work with the NVR is spotty at best. If you never need support I might give Lorex 3 stars but the support experience is a nightmare. No responses to email for almost a week, and when you call in you get offshored to I have no idea where. I only called to get information because there are no help files, and the documentation is lacking.
I ordered CVC6985U they sent a different model DPB14TLX that will not conect to my system different plugs. This was on August 22,2016. Called customer service had to wait for two hours before someone called my back. She said, she had to do a ticket and it would be 24 to 48 hours to hear something. Well, on Sept 13,2016 received email to return the camera and they would sent a shipping label separately from the email. Have not received the shipping label. On the phone waiting right now for customer service been on hold for 35 minutes so far. I would stay away from this company till they bring the customer service back to the United States.

Update: It was nice to send a upgrade but the upgrade did not work with my system. So, just a waste of time.

Absolutely the worst experience with a security camera system ever. Support is non-existent... unable to open files that their equipment produces even with their own software and players? Their first recommendation was for me to download a free player (VLC) from the web because it works better than their own... it did not which begs the question... HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO VIEW THE RECORDED FILES? Lorex has 1 support person helping multiple customers at the same time. That person does not have a good grasp at understanding issues and if you can wait 10 minutes between responses for the wrong answers... maybe Lorex is for you?
Bought a system that was delivered 2 months after order. No instruction manual. Sent the wrong, cheaper cameras. Beware of buying from this bunch of crooks.
Omg. Listen up people. Do not consider Lorex. I have purchased 3 camera controllers in 5 years and even with extended warranties this firm will not honor their commitments

We can't get cables to put up our system locally. Tried to purchase from their site. But they want copies of our household bills before completing the purchase. Called customer service and was yelled at, demeaned, and treated very rudely. Asked the supervisor if there was someone I could talk to that wouldn't yell at me. He said, nope, he was the acting supervisor and what he said was how it was and that they didn't care if he yelled at the customer. Truly, don't buy their products unless you want a good xoensive papereight with a side of abuse.
You will send them a return and they won't process it FOR OVER A MONTH AND A HALF.
I have caught this company in a lie several time. I will not go into details because it could possibly reveal my case.
One more thing, the moment they got my email I started receiving phishing emails for my provider's domain. How odd. This email address was pure and received ZERO spam for over 5 years.
Now 12 days and have not received my refund for a unit that was never shipped but this company know how to manipulate the UPS tracking to make it look like it was delivered but then returned to sender you have to be very careful AND LOOK AT THE TRACKING DETAILS DATES AND TIMES DON'T MAKE SENSE THEY GO THREW A LOT OF TROUBLE TO STEEL YOUR MONEY AND THEY TELL ME TO TAKE IT UP WITH MY BANK CROCKS Crocks
I purchased this product at Costco - opened it and installed the entire 6 camera unit and the DVR wouldn't work - was on customer service for hours and they determined it was a faulty DVR and said they would ship me a replacement that I would receive in 5-7 days. Fast forward a MONTH and I'M STILL WAITING FOR IT. Every time I call to get an update they say it is being shipped but they can't give me a delivery number yet that UPS will generate one shortly - THIS HAS HAPPENED FOR A MONTH - Still nothing - called to get a "supervisor" who said the same thing and then just sent me to eternal hold. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. I'm stunned that Costco carries this brand - they typically have great products. Will be contacting them also.
The worst place to purchased camera system is LOREX they do not know what the definition of a good business. 1st is to help customer they dont know how to help customer. There customer service is extremely terrible

By the way if they ship it out wrong address it is your problem (fault) they need your money

I would suggest Lorex to review the ability of their Tech Support Contractor. Back in 2017, I had very support and very good knowledge from the Tech Support but recently (Aug. 2019), I called and the new Tecbh Support absolutely have no idea how to solve the problem with Firmware upgrade and migration from Flir Cloud to Lorex Cloud.
I would say "you get what you are paying for".
Hours on hold and many emails yet still no closer to finding the answer to my system not working. Have new LOREX system to replace, but sending it back because the customer support is worthless
Lorex was great now that they changed the mobile app it doesn't work you cannot view your cameras from your phone would not recommend this company unless they fixed the app
Ordered two sets of security cameras and the equipment they connect to. Bought one for us and one for my electrician sons' home in exchange for him installing ours. Our set did not include the bixnthe system hooks up to. Only the cameras. He has been contacting you people for almost two months with no feedback or assistance. He recently got an email from the complaint dept. masking what he needed assistance with. This is after multiple phone conversations. I don't see how you people stay on business after reading all these other horrendous reviews. I feel like we are a victim of fraud. If we don't get some results asap (the missing critical piece) I am going to blackball this company's name all over social media. Being nice hasn't worked.
