All I wanted was good support after the sale. Not available at any cost.
Tech support leaves you on hold for long periods. Same exact "unplug, reboot, reconnect" routine over & over again. 4th tech, after 14 hours on the phone, took 4 hours in remote access to re-configure camera ip's & / or passwords. This was a month ago. Same problem again.
If they were a dog, I'd take them to the pound. However, I wouldnt cry over this one!
I bought a system from Costco, NVR went out less a month later, Customer service said to send it and will send me a replacement, a month later and still don't have it yet
The cameras have a good picture, but the software is terrible! I have to call all of the time to install, reinstall, etc. I have an Android phone. On my wife's phone (Apple) it is 100% better! Comes with lack of instructions. They tell you to put the DVR in a very private and secured location. I placed my system in the top of my closet, then I found out that it has to be hooked up to a monitor and a mouse to install the system. If I would have known that, I wouldn't had "hid" my DVR and would had put it next to my computer. The customer service phone, however, is answered VERY quickly... if you can understand who you are talking to! I have a hard wired system which I would never do again!
Oh Lorex! I don't even know what to say! The 16 channel system I bought last week was installed by a professional service and out the box nothing stuck on the welcome screen tried everything and nothing works! I just lost a lot of money today thanks to you guys! Now I have to sit on the phone to do a return which I have been on the phone for an hour already which is why I'm sitting here using this wasted time to write a review. I definitely will be doing a chargeback which at this point may be easier than getting you guys on the line.
Days for then to approve an order using a credit card and then want verification of bills, etc. BEWARE of possible ID theft and even if not them opening yourself up to potential hacking. Company is listed in Canada as a subsidiary of a Chinese company and all support, sales and customer service seems to be out of Columbia!
Good Heavens this is a badly run company. I have barely connected the cameras and already their company name in this house is Lorex Sucks. And it's all the worst customer service, so bad it must be a secret camera parody. I've gone all Scarlett O'Hara about it: as God is my witness, I will never buy Lorex again. Their products could be solid gold, it can't outrun the customer prevention experience.
Tech support is a joke! Our system is less than a year old and doesn't work and have created ticket after ticket (x4 now) and telling them our place of business is open 11-5pm. They call at 9:18am! Our business has been unprotected for over 3 weeks so far because they can't get it right! Our call back time has been 4-5 days after they give us an escalated ticket with a specific time of 12 noon they will call. We will never buy this product again with this type of customer service! Horrible!
Just don't. Don't buy these cameras or the dvrs. They don't last long, constantly dissconnecting, dvr female input jacks won't hold onto the male jack. If you try to post a negative review on their website, they'll contact you but nothing is solved, they won't post your comment, and they want you to buy other cameras.

We can't get cables to put up our system locally. Tried to purchase from their site. But they want copies of our household bills before completing the purchase. Called customer service and was yelled at, demeaned, and treated very rudely. Asked the supervisor if there was someone I could talk to that wouldn't yell at me. He said, nope, he was the acting supervisor and what he said was how it was and that they didn't care if he yelled at the customer. Truly, don't buy their products unless you want a good xoensive papereight with a side of abuse.
I wouldn't even give this brand 1star if I didn't have to. From the start, after paying over $560 I went to connect my wired 4K cameras to the internet. Found out I could not do that without my receipt in hand. I couldn't find the receipt so that was that. The cameras are supposed to record 24/7 on my 2TB DVR harddrive yet there is always huge gaps of video missing. The cameras are very poor at night and colored nite vision is a joke. Only at sunset on 1 camera for about 3 minutes. One camera has double vision. Another is just blurry no matter what I do to adjust settings. Then the fourth camera flickers on and off at random times. Sometimes for days at a time for no reason. I have never been more upset with a product I bought in my lifetime! I would not recommend these cameras or any of this brands stuff to anyone! Worst c as meta set up ever! Oh, and the app sucks too. Won't play video in HD SOMETIMES, most of the time. Waste of money. As for this setup being capable of sound. It might be capable but it does not come with any cords or anything to actually take advantage of that part. That would be more to buy and setup on your own too. Shouldn't even advertise it like it does. Misleading! Waste of my time and money!
If you go to Lorex website they are controlling the reviews. I wrote an honest review but they did not post it. Their service is very bad and I think this is the culture of this company. My experience is real and I know that 99.99% of the people who are complaining about bad service are real. And it can happen to you too.
I sent an email to their customer support and sales department but did not receive any reply. After a week I did a follow and still no reply. I have the correct email address because I got it from their website. I wrote an honest review in Lorex website and they did not post it because it is real. They are guilty about it.
I do not recommend Lorex because of customer / sales service. If you want to purchase then it is up to you if you want to experience what most of us experience... bad customer service!
I purchased a 4 camera wireless system two years ago. One of the cameras was damaged (my fault). I called to purchase a replacement and was told it was no longer available. The rep to EBay and look for a camera. Or I could purchase another system.
I have been waiting on my package now for 2 weeks when I paid for Rush shipping they told me that it was delivered to the wrong address I have been trying to speak with a supervisor for the last week and the only thing that they tell me is a supervisor is busy there's only one on at the moment and they will contact you back. I waited a week for the supervisor Malian (I believe that's the correct spelling, that's the name Sergio gave me and customer service) she still has not called. Called today same response same thing spoke to David said a supervisor will call me back or email me. Customer service that I have received is crappy it seems like they can care less to help you. I have been a Lorex customer for at least 15 years now and I have never received customer service this bad. Anybody know who I can complain to
Believe the reviews. This company has abhorrent customer support! They truly could care less if your customer requests are met or not. Truly! I escalated to a manager and he refused to help adn refused to provide the information that I needed to escalate further. All over a 6-inch cable and 4 screws that they did not provide for an expansion drive that I had purchased. I had seen the reviews before buying the system but ignored them. Bad choice.
Absolutely the worst experience with a security camera system ever. Support is non-existent... unable to open files that their equipment produces even with their own software and players? Their first recommendation was for me to download a free player (VLC) from the web because it works better than their own... it did not which begs the question... HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO VIEW THE RECORDED FILES? Lorex has 1 support person helping multiple customers at the same time. That person does not have a good grasp at understanding issues and if you can wait 10 minutes between responses for the wrong answers... maybe Lorex is for you?
I have been sick with mesothelioma for 21 months. My wife purchased a replacement camera with extended warranty but ordered the wrong one. It is not compatible with our recorded. My son just visited and we tried to install it. We called customer service but they denied an exchange. We like their products but have had multiple issues with their customer service in the past. Almost impossible to understand their agents and they are not flexible at all.
We purchased 8 cameras from Lorex. We had a professional installer put them in. Within the warranty period, three of the cameras failed. We called Lorex and they sent us to their technical support. In the meantime, we had the same installer business recheck the three cameras to see if they had made a connection problem. They connections were all correct, and they verified that the three cameras were at fault. We called technical support and they kept us on the phone for two hours. We had to check this and that; this number on the adapter and this number on the DVR, on the plugs, you name it. Then they said they would not replace it without the individual serial numbers on the cameras in question. Since most of the cameras were twenty to thirty ft high, only one was close enough to get that number. Now they want the installer to call them. Most places would send you a box with the paperwork, and you send the faulty cameras, then new replacement cameras would be sent to you. My suggestion: buy local, buy American and buy from a company that sells and installs the cameras and have a maintenance plan. Lorex does NOT care about their customers and tries to squirm out of responsibility to replace faulty ones.
I have owned this $2300 Lorex NR916 4K 8mp 16 camera system for almost 2 years and have had nothing but trouble. Lorex has replaced the NVR 3 times due to various issues leaving me with no recorder for 3 weeks each time. The night vision has always been horrible & I have spoken to Lorex at least 2 dozen times about it. The first photo is 8 feet from the camera "spot the person". The second photo is about 15 feet from the camera.
We've had nothing but problems with their camera systems. The app is terrible. Their original part number is no longer available as it was a complete system, but is similar to their part number HDIP*******AVW. We have both bullet style and dome cameras. Out of a 22-camera system, 7 have stopped working. These are not their bottom of the line cameras and NVR, these are the 4K IP cameras. I have spent more than 11 hours on the phone over the last year and nothing was resolved. 7 cameras still out. I'm searching for a replacement.
I was trying to fix a recording problem with their DVR. 4+ sessions with technical support yielded nothing but aggravation. They put the burden on the customer rather then replace faulty units under warranty
