I cancelled my order cause I found a lot of bad reviews about the manufacturer. And then I waited 3 days to send my first email ask where my refund was. The customer service said I needed to wait 3-5 days. Ok, so I waited.
After 8 days of the cancellation I sent the second email (no response), and then the third email, finally got the response on the 15th day.
"You were never charged for this deal. You will not see a credit in you account because when you cancelled it the whole purchase was just voided."
I don't understand why their customer service treat people like they are blind and cannot see the bank statement.
Now, I just called my chase bank to dispute the transaction and will never buy from them again.
Purchased the "cellphone screen repair" for Android phones for $79.00. Went to the vendor and was told he won't do Galaxy's b/c the screen is so expensive and that Living Social will refund my money. Okay, not a big deal... let LS know about it and they get back to me 2 weeks later with...
We're sorry that this deal didn't work out for you and understand you would like us to refund your voucher. Unfortunately, we are unable to extend you a credit card refund or Deal Bucks credit because your request is outside our refund policy.
Stay away from LivingSocial. They have Horrible customer service! I bought a voucher and the merchant would not honor it. When I contacted livingsocial to explain the situation and ask for a refund or a credit they denied it. I went back and forth with them and they continued to say "you can still use the amount paid with the merchant". Why would I do that if the merchant wouldnt honor my voucher in the first place!? Needless to say, they would not work with me and I am out $200 because of it! They obviously do not care about their customers!
I will be cancelling my account with them.
Stay away and do not buy anything from them! It could cost you a lot of money.
I ended up loosing an $800+ Adventure Deal to Costa Rica (not including airfare, hotels in other areas or activities, etc totaling over $2,000) using LivingSocial after a problem with my Passport, two days prior to departure, that was completely out of my hands. It left me stranded in the US and unable to redeem the Adventure voucher/gift card. As you can imagine, in these economic times, I do not have over $800 to just throw away. This is not a $30 dinner coupon where I would cut my losses and learn my lesson.
I explained that I was actually looking to RESCHEDULE the trip for another available date in the very near future. I was NOT asking for A REFUND. Yet LS refused my request. As of this letter, LS had an Adventure Deal that was exactly the same (same location/hotel stay and same dates as my original voucher) with the same available dates. Yet I was told my deal could not be rescheduled; in effect, I forfeit my deal. The CS rep at LS read (verbatim) to me their rigid policy of "you must cancel within 7 days of purchasing if you want a refund. You can also gift it to someone else for the same exact days." No exceptions. This is an INTERNATIONAL trip mind you. You can barely plan a US trip within 7 days, let alone an international trip. The option of gifting it is ridiculous since there are virtually no odds that someone you know can leave for an international trip in less than 2 days.
The interesting (and most unfair) part is LivingSocial had to reschedule ME because they would not have a Guide during my ORIGINAL date. I was the only one to purchase it for a particular date so they were not providing a Guide. So I accepted the change in plans, despite financial and work obligations I had already pre-arranged for my original date. The CS rep I spoke to on 9/17 added, "there is no one else that can override this policy," when I asked to speak to someone else. He again belittled me by re-reading the policy (for the third or fourth time).
Why is the policy so one-sided LivingSocial?!?
I was considering buying something from them, good thing I checked it at amazon before I made my decision, it was actually cheaper at amazon by about $20! Go figure, where is the deal?!?
They sold me vouchers for a restaurant that refused to honor them, then Living Social refused to give credit for the unuseable vouchers.
If anyone is contemplating a class-action lawsuit, count me in.
It was a bait-and-switch deal. The deal was a $50 voucher that costs $25. The voucher was to buy a pair of running shoes at a local sports store. It states on the voucher that the voucher is not valid for "on sale" items. I went to the sports store to buy a pair of running shoes, all running shoes were on sale except a very few select EXPENSIVE shoes. I would be crazy to pay that much for those shoes. I asked for a refund from LivingSocial. They would not give me a refund. I'll just eat the $25 and never buy from LivingSocial again.
I made one purchase from this website. The offer was a iPhone accessory package. I paid for the package, received my voucher, and then placed the voucher order through the retailer's website for the order. The order went through on 8/20/2012. On 9/12/2012 I received a message from the retailer saying that my voucher didn't include shipping and that I needed to pay additional funds. My issue with this is that it took 23 days for them to notify me of this. I sent a request to Living Social asking for either a refund or a credit towards another purchase (I would have gladly accepted the latter) and they basically said that I was out of luck. They only issue refunds within 7 days of the purchase. This policy is fine as long as it doesn't take 23 days to be notified that I had to pay additional funds! Groupon has always treated me with great service and I've never had any issues with them about refunds or credits. I will never purchse from Living Social again and highly recommend that you steer clear of them unless you don't mind throwing money away.
Horrible. I purchased a spa voucher for my niece at a kiddie spa with her friends for her birthday. Miraculously, the website for the spa disappeared after we made an appointment and the phone number went out of service. We had a date issue and tried to change it. The spa called an HOUR before they were to see us and my sister-in-law told them she couldn't do it that day and the representative screamed at her and hung up. I contacted LS to get a refund and they told me the voucher states that I have to call 14 days prior to the scheduled date per the company policy. THE COMPANY COULD NOT BE CONTACTED!
I've filed a complaint with my bank and intend to get the $145 back. What a rip off.
I purchased a coupon through living social. When I went to use the coupon with the vendor, the vendor claimed they would not be profitable honoring the coupon and tried to charge me for "extras." They told me that if I wasn't happy, Living Social would provide a refund.
I was not happy and contacted Living Social for a refund. Living Social would NOT provide a refund. Terrible customer support from Living Social in my opinion.
Living Social has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I made sure the date I needed was available before purchasing a limo wine tour from living social. I exchanged emails with the limo company directly after purchasing the deal to book and then heard nothing back from the company. After calling several times and leaving several messages, I finally heard back only to find out they had booked up on that date. I don't live in the area and could only use the tour on that date for a bachelorette party. I called Living Social to see if I could get a refund or at least "living social" credit, but they were completely rude and would do NOTHING for me. Not only did they not help me, they told me that the reason they couldn't do anything is because they had to meet a quota of deals sold with the limo company. Basically they don't care at all about their customers. On top of being completely inconsiderate, the agent sent me an insulting email with the refund policy after our phone call. I had stated clearly that I understood the refund policy, but was looking to see if there was anything the company could to for me to be thoughtful in a situation where I am now out $375. I will never be using Living Social again, and I highly recommend to go with another deal company. They are an extremely unhelpful company with no customer service skills.
Recently offered Starbucks deal with opportunity to get my purchase for free if 3 of my friends who I supplied email addresses for, also purchased the offer... no problem who doesn't want a Starbucks deal. The offer went out to my email buddies long after the deal had sold out. This was a Living Social scam to capture emails for future use from idiots like me who offered them up. They have a form for complaints to make it look like they care but they don't. Know of others who have posted complaints and Living Social never responds. Beware
Hello Lauren x7009
Thank you for your aweful service...
Your so called "customer care" title should be removed immediately... AND as far as you being the only person to escalate my issue to in all of Living Social? Hmmm, Ive already written to the CEO of company.
After reading the reviews from other customers posted all over so many sites from all around the world about LS services it is more than crystal clear that I am one of thousands that has a complaint about your
Lack of customer care and the LS site in general. The reviews speak for themselves - they are all Negative!
You were absolutely no help, did not resolve the issue and provided NO customer care - the advertisment for ISO Beauty Hair Dryers was 100% misleading.
The Deal Ad showed the ISO Beauty site where there were several dryers to choose from - after finding one, I purchased the voucher - nowhere on the deal ad did it mention there were limitations?
Upon receiving the voucher - the site to choose the product from changed! The hair dryer I originally bought the voucher for was not included! Whoever wrote this ad for you, should be investigated! It doesnt make any sense. There were no limitations to the hair dryer products on the Deal Ad! And why would you post the ISO main site where there is a broader selection of dryers?
This is totally misleading! AND BAD Business!
I will post this message all over the place on the net and report you to the better business bureau - all your other Living Social EX customers are already there; ISO Beauty Co. Is hearing about
About this case too
The fact that you could not even offer up one solution to keep me as a customer is disgusting and you called youself the manager with no other persons to speak with.
Nevermind the Deal ad anymore - Im stuck with it - but more importantly, you have absolutely no experience in customer care or how to keep customers returning!
Apparently you missed training day on "How NOT to loose the Customer"
Too bad for Living Social! No wonder all the complaints
I find this site and the customer service offered with this site totally lacking. I would expect a much better search option and a much easier way to stop so many unwanted offered.
Bought two deals. One, the business refused to honor because Living Social promised double what the business was willing to give. The second "deal" was a discounted item. Went to the website and the company didn't even list this item as an available product, nor did I ever receive any kind of confirmation or response from them. Like yelp deals before it, never again!
Purchase a spa package for my wife but when she called to schedule an appointment, before the expiration date, they could not or would not schedule an appointment and they would not honor it beyond the date.
I just got of the phone with LivingSocial, and what ahasslel it was to get someone and I was told they only give refunds within 7 days of purchase or if the business goes out ofbusinesss. The lady told me contact the spa and see if I could pay them addition money to use the certificate, what a rip off.
STAY AWAY FROM LIVINGSOCIAL!
I purchased a voucher for a 1 day boat rental. Reserved the day then it rained on that day, I tried to reserve a different day however the boat was not available until Mid October which would be very cold. I called Living Social for a refund and they said they would get back to me and never did. When I called back they said the decision had been made not to provide the refund because it was subject to availability. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ON THIS SITE unless you are 100% sure you are going to keep it or use it. They will not work with you to return or cancel something. Groupon on the other hand was very helpful when I canceled a car wash with them. No questions asked. I would suggest to look at Groupon and not LS.
I purchased a $21 San Diego Zoo Safari voucher and utilized their "Me + 3" deal by inviting my boyfriend, his brother and his mother to purchase tickets. They each received an email, and my boyfriend purchased one ticket per email link. The next day, my boyfriend received an email saying that because he used the same credit card for all purchases, the deal was not valid and we would not receive a free ticket.
Nowhere did it say that you couldn't use the same credit card, but for $21, it wasn't a big deal.
My boyfriend's card gets charged for 3 tickets, then two days later, one charge is returned. I contact Living Social, and they say that I only referred two people to the deal. I offered to give email proof and credit card statement proof. They ignored my arguments and changed their argument stating the 4th ticket didn't go through because the same credit card was used. If that were the case, then how did 2 tickets go through under the same card? And didn't you just say I never referred a 3rd person.
I asked to receive my rightful 4th ticket, paid or unpaid, but Living Social said that the deal was closed and they couldn't do so. Then, not even an hour later, I receive an email that states "Back by popular demand! San Diego Zoo Safari Tour!"
Living Social's customer support is run by hypocritical liars. They are willing to lose 4 clients and hundreds of future dollars over a $21 voucher. GROUPON is a much better service. Stay away from Living Social at all costs!
I bought a lawn service deal from this website thinking that if they are good, I will keep using them for my lawn. It turned out to be a disaster. I bought the deal in March, contacted them in April when the Spring started and lawn needed to be mowed badly. They said they were overwhelmed with the livingsocial customers, next possible time would be somewhere in June. I would have to wait. Fine, that's understandable. I waited. I contacted them again in June, they said they were still scheduling our service. Till now at the end of August, we still haven't got our service. And it is fall. So we contacted the merchant again they told me to get refund from Livingsocial. After emailing back and forwards, talking something about it is against their policy to refund the money when the merchandise is in business, but they only can refund me their fake money. Blabla... who wants their fake money! Ridiculous. Isn't it simple that if I couldn't get my service, I should get my money back?! It is completely wasting my time. I'm deleting my account on this stupid website, not going to use them again. I have Groupon as well, never have any problem.
Update: After talking to their support many times and filing a BBB complain, I finally got an email from them saying that I will get my money back..
Purchased a Auto Detail Voucher. The Merchant can't book an appointment for me until next year. Six months to wait to have my car detailed. The voucher would be expired my then. Livingsocial won't give me a refund. Livingsocial and the merchant Muscat Auto Body have conspired to sell these vouchers, knowing they cannot honor the voucher before the expiration date. After the voucher is expired they will then just give you credit for the voucher towards the retail price of a Auto Detail. What a scam.
Stay away from Livingsocial, especially anything service oriented when they sell too many vouchers and they can't honor them within a reasonable time. Pass this info to your family, friends, associates, acquaintance's, neighbors and strangers. Put Livingsocial out of business.
Answer: I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone. A total nightmare. They take your money don't send the goods and they don't answer e mails
Answer: There do seem to have been some financial problems with many of the deals from Living Social. But when I had a problem they answered the phone and it was dealt with quickly and the goods resent.
Answer: Have you contacted the customer service at Livingsocial.com? I have found them to be pretty responsive in the past. This is a seperate review site.
LivingSocial is a leading "daily deal" site that sells discounted experiences and local services--restaurants, spa trips, home services, travel, etc.--via voucher. The consumer must pay for the voucher upfront, and the voucher generally must be used within a specified time period or it cannot be redeemed. To make these deals possible, LivingSocial sells merchants on its ability to help "find and keep more customers". LivingSocial is a private company based in Washington DC and its shareholders include Amazon.com.
