I had an issue with Nest Egg Auction and Mary Ellen Brechlin. I promptly mailed them payment for an item I won. I followed up by emailing them and asking for written provenance for the item I won, because they claimed the item was from the Estate of one of Handel Lamps top decorators and Artist. I received a reply that the item did not meet reserve and was returned to the Consignor. So, to avoid any issue with being refunded, I stopped my check. I posted feedback for Nest Egg, which LiveAuctioneers chose to not publish. I tried again, and was told by LiveAuctioneers to refrain from posting feedback. In a final attempt to post factual feedback, I was emailed by LiveAuctioneer and was informed my account was being suspended. If you plan to use LiveAuctioneer services, CAVEAT EMPTOR, you will get no help from them if you have an issue. I have been using their services since their inception and have had a few issues with Auction Houses, and appealed to them for help. They did NOTHING!
Watch out for the extra fees they charge the buyer. A $300 item cost me $520 after they added their fees, taxes and ridiculously high shipping cost. Check out the pic I posted
Bid on hard to get Federal LP primers and got them for a reasonable price. Shipped w/o hazmat fee made it cost effective. Professionally done and shipped in a timely manner.

I used liveauctioneers for 2 weeks. 1st week and auction went fine. Bids were accepted and posted in a timely fashion to win 1st item in 1st auction I used them for. 2nd week and biding on 4 different auctions on several items my bids never made it. Bids were higher than highest bid and even said it was sent before item closed. I did not win and bid didn't show in my lost item bids. If you are serious about your auction DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. As I see it, they can't handle the bid traffic on their server so the service isn't worth the hours of wasted time watching and bidding. After having this happen to me I searched about customer complaints. Ranked 93rd in online auction services by BBB, personal info hacked from their server, no help when auction house doesn't ship after paying invoice, charges and collections for customers that never bid on items as account was hacked. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

I spend a great deal of time looking on live auctioneers and buying on this platform. Never before have we had such a large selection of product to choose from. With that being said, Every new auction house that I buy from is a whole new challenge to get it shipped payed for getting questions answered, trying to get someone on the phone or to return a phone call! Then you get the one that's short tempered and thinks everything can be solved with an email! I'm sorry but being in my 70s I'm not as tec saey as a twenty year old, I can guarantee you I spend more money on live auctioneers then a twenty year old! I've been treated so badly with some of these houses I will never give them anymore of my hard earned money again. Now I have to say I have some wonderful people at some of these houses that have been wonderful to deal with. I think it gets down to respecting the fact it my money I'm spending with them, I can go elsewhere and have. I would like to see a more uniformed approach through the whole system.

I won 2 lamps in auction
One was packed and shipped from long island the other ohio
Both auction houses were efficient and the respective shippers UPS did a great job packing and shipping the fragile lamps
Many of the pieces I purchased were not as shown the auction house might argue the the pieces were enlarged to show detail but when they are no bigger then a thumbnail well let the buyer beware!

My experience with LiveAuctioneers: well it can be described as the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The good is the grand variety of items available to bid on. The process of signing up, entering an auction, following along, clear instructions on the specifics of the policies/shipping methods/cues for notices/details of items are all first rate. I also utilized a personal phone contact and I received professional and swift response to my questions and comments.
The bad is the unfortunate wait for the item to finally get to me as shipping is a long process and timeframe.
The ugly is my interaction with two of the auction houses where with the bids I won an item was cracked. The auction company did replace the item, I was surprised when their rep stated to me that that is part of the character of the item. I also encountered a long wait time for an item I won, and when I called the auction house --two separate times, I was told they would send out the next day and overnight it to me. Well, that was not done and I was disappointed by the lie within their shipping department. I finally did get the item, five weeks after my first call.
But, with LiveAuctioneers, I have trust and confidence in their practices.

Decided to try out online auctions, really wish I hadn't. Perfect storm of disappointment, security compromises & general awfulness.
Bid on an item. Rejected by vendor. Messaged them to ask why, they rescinded my rejection - I got no notification so I won the item (yay) but didn't know it. Finally realized it & tried to figure out how to get it shipped, they kept forgetting about me, never sent me item information, had to keep emailing them for status updates. Item never arrived. I never got it. So wasted $54 on my item & $32 on shipping for absolutely nothing.
Icing on the cake - few days ago I got massively hacked. Subscription bombed, 'brushing' scam from Amazon & 2 of my credit cards compromised 4 days before Christmas. Froze my credit and re-issued all my credit cards, which has made Christmas shopping really fun. Just finished a security scan from experian. Only recent hack on my record? Liveactioneers.com. Received no security warnings from them about the hack.
The worst part of all of this is that absolutely nobody can be held responsible. Merry Christmas.
LiveAuctioneers as a platform for auctioneer companies worldwide fails to provide customer service needs for buyers as well as sellers. When concerns and complainants are forwarded to LiveAuctioneers customer support they fail to respond. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND USE INVALUABLE FOR YOUR AUCTIONEER PURCHASE NEEDS.
Site does a nice job of finding offerings for the artist I 'm interested in. But the site adds of miscellaneous info where I have no interest.
Thus the site can be non friendly.
I registered my interest in the artist and forgot all about it until a painting came up. All went very well, I bid and won the item which the gallery dispatched
I like this site very much, but by including rubbish sellers of rubbish stuff - page after page after page of them - it is getting to be no better than ebay.

In order to avoid misunderstanding, I highly advise that you review the terms of a sale before bidding as sellers state their "Buyer's Premium" in each sale. In regards to processing fee, this is a standard credit card processing fee, collected by payment processors. To be clear, this fee is not a LiveAuctioneers fee, and LiveAuctioneers does not profit from this charge. Some auction houses elect to include this fee in their buyer's premium, and in those cases you will not see a separate line item on the invoice. Other auction houses do not include this fee in their buyer's premium, and in these cases you'll see it as a separate line item on your invoice.
