I love the digitatized movies. The process was well organized, completed quickly. When I had a download issue Customer Service was friendly knowledgeable and a had a UBS in the mail prompptly.! I would do it again if I found more media to digitize.
It was well organized. Instructions straight forward. I have not received the videos back yet. Therefore, I cannot rate the quality of conversion from 8 mm to disc.

Took 3 months to get my order and it came in the wrong form. While waiting for my order I received emails from them almost daily trying to sell me more. A real headache. Will never use them again!

The quality of the transfers of my 8mm home movies to DVD was so good we couldn"t believe they were the same movies we took 50 years ago and had watched on our old 8mm projector. The process was so fast and we were able to enjoy the movies in less than 3 weeks. The many discount offers made the cost so reasonable. I sent in old Sony video disks and they had they for 4 weeks and their tracking website said that everything was going great.
They sent back every piece of media as saying they couldn't convert that format or it was damaged.
Three hundred dollars for shipping my stuff out and getting my stuff back with stickers on them

I have used LegacyBox before and was happy. Something has happened with the company such that now it is a horrible experience, poor quality and zero customer support. I would NEVER trust them to handle your memories. No more.
I sent in maybe two dozen slides. I received maybe 10 worthless emails from them on stages of their process, basically fake progress reviews to make me think they are doing something when in fact they are doing nothing. "Your memories were delivered to our secure facility". "Your order is in line to be processed" "Heads up on your order". "Your order has been barcoded". "Your order has been checked in." Just to name a few. It is A JOKE.
I finally got my order and multiple slides were scanned diagonally and their quality control did not catch it. And, they refused to scan others because I kept them in a paper envelope instead of putting them in a plastic bag.
I of course sent more than one inquiry on all of the above and have heard nothing back. Such a joke. Such a waste of money and time. Such a great story of a once good idea / company that has devolved into a horrible one.
Sending my VCR tapes to Legacybox could not have been more simple. The box and all the directions can very quickly and it took only minutes to label each tape, put them in the box, add the prepaid label and I was off to the UPS store.
I submitted 8 mm movies (hate to say it) they were 50 years old. The thumb drive I received was great. I never thought my sisters and I would see these movies again.

The online video files are good. It is nice to have a digital version of my old VHS tapes. The only improvement would be the turn-around time is slow... about 3 months.
I recently received the box to pack up my 8mm movies & send to legacybox.com. I have NOT received my DVD or USB stick back as of yet, so I cannot comment on the quality of work just yet. I will leave a review after I receive my DVD.
I sent my moms old slides to be dititalized, for her retirement party (retired at 82) and I kept waiting for them after 6 month I forced nathalay ( a specialist for finding nothing) to admit they were lost she wouldn't call it! I got run around. I sent a registered letter to nick macco and he did not acknowledge me, i would of felt so bad if I did that to someone that I would be full of sorties and what can I do to make you feel better, the owner of legacy box is a Jagoff! Also legacy box sent my slides to south point a sister company without my permission and now they are missing it been over a year and a half! Beware people don't send your precious memories to Tennessee! You may regret it
The experience with Legacybox was seamless; simple & they were excellent at their communication all the way through the process. There was a bit of a "bump in the road", as I had thought that I asked for DVD's but it was done digitally (since I don't have a great handle on computers & such & being older, I was more comfortable with something I could hold/touch (lol)) So, when I emailed them about this, they worked with me to figure out the easiest way to make me happy. I did need to mail back the VHS tapes, but was sent a new box to mail them back & they only charged me for the shipping & handling & not any new processing into the DVD's for me.
Also, Amber set up a time to call me as to avoid confusion in questions that I had when emailing about the issue. She was great. If you email with a question, someone gets back to you very quickly! I had a percentage off which was great & they gave me a refund on one tape that was apparently blank!
Overall... very satisfied & would highly recommend Legacybox to anyone!
I had a VHS tape with my parents winning a car on the Price is Right in 1995. They are both deceased (Daddy 2020; Mommy 2022). Legacybox was able to restore the VHS tape and make a DVD. They did a very good job because the VHS tape was old; however, I was able to view my parents on the entire show and relive our family history!
Paid for express return to have before Christmas! Did not get with no refund! Supposedly notified with email but never received! Doesn't show much concern for someone who paid extra $!

If you paid for rush processing (this differs from express shipping) and your order arrived to us before December 1st your order should be completed by Christmas. If this is not the case we can absolutely refund you for the cost of rush processing if there was any error on our end. Our technicians do keep you up to date every step of the way via email regarding your order. Depending on your email settings, these may be filtered into the spam or promotional folder and I do apologize if you did not receive them.
Legacy box was unable to convert a vhs tape…they found mold. I was refunded all of my money…every penny. That is the making of a great company. Thanks again
I will just tell you why legacybox is deceptive and unfair.
I sent a bundle of tapes and films to be processed, it was order number *******. Your company failed to copy three of the items adequately, because they do not adjust the TRACKING of VHS tapes. The resultant discs were just static. After arguing with your representative I was offered a 50 percent refund. I find this to be inadequate and insulting.
First off, your company puts a sticker on the supposedly defective tapes stating that they did everything possible to process the items. This is not true. Because I consequently paid a guy $55. To get my tapes copied properly. They came out fine with a slight tracking adjustment. Your company DOES NOT do everything possible to ensure ideal quality.
Secondly, you advertise on your website that SATISFACTION is GUARANTEED. We'll, since I am not satisfied with your production process and your inadequate refund policy, I am not satisfied and your guarantee is false.
There you have it. I challenge you now to post my feedback, or to process a full refund for the three faulty jobs.

Just to reiterate: I understand your frustration and apologize that your expectations were not met. We advertise that we perform a one-to-one transfer of everything that we receive. If there is an issue with the original, those issues will translate over to the digital copies.
We cannot restore, edit or improve the quality of tapes. Due to the age and natural deterioration of tapes, sometimes quality issues may occur during the digitization process. I see that you were issued a 50% refund on the items you were not satisfied with and I have gone ahead and issued the refund for the remaining 50% on the 3 items in question. These items were transferred to the best of our abilities but we are willing to make an exception regarding the refund amount since you've had them re-done at another company that offers enhancements and adjustments. Excellent experience. Will use again, I have a lot of vhs and mini cassettes. I suppose quality was as good as it could get due to age. A little disappointed.
Answer: All Video and Film Transfers are done so at 480P. Additionally, we convert almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels, and audio. Here's a full list of formats we can digitize: *Videotapes: VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, S-VHS-C, Betamax, Hi8, Digital8, Video8, MiniDV, HD MiniDV, and MicroMV A note on foreign tapes: We can convert most PAL and SECAM consumer format tapes. The only foreign format we cannot currently convert are PAL and SECAM Betamax tapes. Answer: Nope. They took 3 months to tell me an item was "damaged" and then told me their refund policy was 20% or more of the media damaged to give any refund.
Answer: Hi Judy, Great question! We ask that slides be grouped into sets of 25 (one item) either in an envelope or ziplock bag. We will provide small barcode stickers to apply to each bag of 25. Slides will be processed in numerical order, according to those barcodes. The order within each set of 25 is not guaranteed as there are alternate factors such as shipping where they could move around. The digital files are free from any copyrights so you can very easily re-order them however you'd like once you receive them back!
