I have a lot of 8mm film from almost 60 years ago and Legacybox put them on a disc for me. I just recently lost my husband and these films are such a treasure to me. The quality isn't the best but what can you expect after 60 years. I will treasure these so much and look back at a life well lived. Thank you Legacybox.

We had a box full of old 8mm family home movies. Legacybox made it easy & affordable to have them transferred to CD. Everything was tracked & we were kept in the loop every step of the way. We are very happy with the results.
This product is so over priced and they are so slow in completing your order. My super 8 movies order is 3 months in the making and I have not gotten it yet. They do not respond to request for updates on my order. Very expensive. I sent in film and should have done it myself with a devise I ordered on line. I was going to have 2700 slides done but that would have been $2700. So I bought a kodak scanza for $160 and 5 hours of my time and done,,, perfect. Done for Christmas
My order took six months to process. Evidently those willing to pay more get to go before you shoving you farther back in line. Whoever processed my order was not willing to take the old slides I sent out of their trays. They came back untouched and undigitized.
The service was easy to use. The inventory stickers that came with the shipping box made it easy to label media and reassured me that the materials would not get lost at the facility. The copies I downloaded looked fine and downloading was no problem. It did take a couple months from when I sent the videos in, but since they'd sat unwatched in a box for 30 years that really was not an issue. I would use Legacybox again.
I purchased $125 worth os service to convert VHS tapes to a disc. Before entering my Groupon code, the cost was $159. After using my $125 discount, the cost went up to $175. Why would the cost be more when using Groupon? I used Legacybox 5 years ago to convert my grandfather's 8mm tapes and photos with success. If their policy is to charge more for Groupon users, I will not use them again.
I asked for this as a Christmas gift. It was easy to do as a gift subscription. Came with labels to put on all my VHS to convert to DVD. I am glad to have all my home movies on DVD.
It is pricey- which is why I asked for it as a gift. It also it a pain in the rump to label everything. I cannot imagine doing pictures. Seem like so much work. But overall they were easy to work with and did a good job. I only had one tape that they marked bc it was corrupted for some reason.

We have been very happy working with Legacybox and plan to do more. I love the way they kept me updated on all that was going on. I did 25 old vhs tapes and they did as good as could be expected with old tapes.
My experience started with contact with Customer Service Reps regarding question I had. We couldn't believe how quickly they responded. The more we got into it the more questions I had and they always responded in a timely and efficient manner. The Legacy Box came and the instructions were quite clear, shipping label and all. Once submitted they kept me informed of progress and returned my thumb drives as requested more quickly than we expected. We had a great experience with LegacyBox and would recommend it to all.

I received my digital download in September and expected to have a backup files for one year. In December, I received a bill for $85 for another year of backup. I called and spoke with the customer service person and she told me that I did indeed have another year until December 20,2023. I received a refund. I then got another email in January saying didn't I want to backup my files.It took me a week of phone calls and emails in order to get someone to speak with me about the situation. Once again I was told that yes I did indeed have backup files until December 20th 2023. When I went to check on my files today, they were not accessible to me. So once again I'm going to have to battle with phone calls and emails to try to get this resolved. Very frustrating and unacceptable.
I ordered a box and then changed my mind before I used it. Their site says this type of return would cost me the shipping and a restocking fee, which didn't sound too bad. Unfortunately I later found out that they said it would actually cost me 20% of the msrp of the box. Imagine my surprise when I found out that they charged me $140 for the shipping and restocking. They told me I could just throw away the box they sent. This is crazy and would not recommend using these thieves!
Return service is very slow, several daily emails that have nothing to do with your order, discounts not honored without going through several hoops and more emails and not refunded if their policy is not understood when I see your order is complete, I expect not to have to do anything further. When refunded requested, they stated I missed my window when they did nothing to earn my money. Bad enough they charge for blank disks which we wouldn't send if we had a way to review, edit, and/or save in digital form in first place.
Me and my sister sent in ten tapes, they said the quality was too poor, duh that's what you advertise that you fix, so we got our tapes back and no refund. The hassle of getting the almost 200 dollars back wasn't worth it to us, but it's disheartening. Life is tough enough, like come on people, good job guys. Another reason to be more cautious of everything and everyone, bravo

All they do is put the tape in and hit record. No enhancements and they do not break up the segments of video on the tape into individual files. Somehow, they managed to record a file from the smaller HD 8 mm tape over video from a standard 8 mm in the same file. Customer service offers no warranty and explains they do not do enhancements and they do not monitor the video reproduction. No offer to make thing right. I had to explain in writing several times what was wrong which tells me they don't even have the time to read emails for content.
Ordered two cds and two thumb drives off the original vhs tape. Paid for tush delivery. It was do rushed that I got someone else's wedding from 1995 instead of an anniversary party from 1983. Had to call twice to get any help. Would not recommend. Always used Costco but they aren't doing it anymore.
I found 41 rolls of old 8mm films. Wasn't sure they were still recoverable, but Legacy did a good job of restoring them. Our family and friends have really enjoyed reliving the 60's again. It is also wonderful to have them as we remember our time with those who are no longer with us.
They returned part of my money when i canceled before sending them anything,they said they kept 63 dollars for a restocking fee for a empty box they didn't want back, I said what are you restocking? Its policy so I have a 63 dollar cardboard box. They are scammers seen a bunch or videos on you tube thats why I canceled
Beware of Legacy Box. A company that takes our precious old home movies and pictures and converts them to various digital media's. Although they pride themselves on providing state-of-the-art tracking, barcoding, and personalized updates at every step of the way, like any organization, they're only as good as their workers. I did receive an update that my movies had been converted successfully to DVD's as I requested. My family memories came back unfinished, missing DVD's. DVD's that I paid for. When I talked with customer service, they were willing to give me a credit for three DVDs that were missing. Period. Not offer to make it right. #customerservice

I received many email saying my film has been transferred successfully and to my horror my package arrived with only my originals. I called and asked where was my DVD I was told they were unable to transfer my 8mm cassettes. I was never alerted by an email and I was not refunded until I called and complained. When asked why I was lied to an emailed saying my order was moving along nicely I was told it's a automated email, so they lie! I bought a DVD payer and invited my whole family over for the showing today. I am beyond disgusted with this company!

They quality was great. Customer service and updates were great. However the offer for a returning customer, even with free shipping, was ALOT higher than offers I've been sent through email. For a return customer you give free shipping and $12.50 transfers but yet you send me emails offering $9 tape transfers. I would think your returning customers would get the better deal!
Answer: All Video and Film Transfers are done so at 480P. Additionally, we convert almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels, and audio. Here's a full list of formats we can digitize: *Videotapes: VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, S-VHS-C, Betamax, Hi8, Digital8, Video8, MiniDV, HD MiniDV, and MicroMV A note on foreign tapes: We can convert most PAL and SECAM consumer format tapes. The only foreign format we cannot currently convert are PAL and SECAM Betamax tapes. Answer: Hi Judy, Great question! We ask that slides be grouped into sets of 25 (one item) either in an envelope or ziplock bag. We will provide small barcode stickers to apply to each bag of 25. Slides will be processed in numerical order, according to those barcodes. The order within each set of 25 is not guaranteed as there are alternate factors such as shipping where they could move around. The digital files are free from any copyrights so you can very easily re-order them however you'd like once you receive them back!
