Horrible results

2 vhs tapes turned into dvds. Both DVDs did not have full content of what I sent. My original vhs tapes were better than what they converted into dvds. Total waste of money, will NEVER recommend this company!

Hi Cynthia, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We perform a 1:1 transfer, meaning the quality of the originals should be a direct reflection of the digital output. Tapes do naturally start to deteriorate after about 10 years, so unfortunately it is not common to experience some quality loss over time. If you have viewed your originals recently and you believe them to be in better quality than what you received back, and that there is more confirmed content on the tapes versus what you received on the DVD's, we would absolutely love to correct this for you. Fantastic experience

I couldn't be more pleased with Legacybox! Not only did they help recover some of my fondest childhood memories, but they updated me every step of the way so I was always assured my photos and tapes were safe. If you want peace of mind when digitizing your memories, Legacybox is the best choice.

Incredible

I trusted Legacybox with our treasured 8mm from the 60's. They did a phenomenal job. Some of the reels had mold damage. They stayed in contact with me and let me know what was going on every step of the way. My father passed away 5 months ago and getting these done onto a current format was like getting a small part of my dad back. I will forever be grateful. I HIGHLY recommend Legacybox. I would do a commercial for these guys.

60 year old 8mm home moves restored
March 25, 2021

I recently became keeper of our families home movie collection, Birthday, Christmas and just memories. I had them restored by Legacybox. I am very pleased with the results and have gotten a thumbs up from the rest of the family. They were completed in a timely manner and kept me informed all along the way. Finally the original 8mm films were returned and I am now able to enjoy them online or play the DVD's

I ordered the 10 item kit with the digital download option. Even with a 20% discount it seemed to be too much money for the end result. Most of the download was blue screen due to any unused recording tape between recordings. For what it cost I would have expected any blank tape to have been edited out so as not have to stare and a blue screen for long periods of time. Hundreds of dollars paid for someone to have a vhs tape played and recorded on a hard drive including the 60 minutes of blank tape. Also there was no enhancement of any recording whatsoever as advertised.

The process was very simple! They sent the box, bar codes, mailing label and instructions. I packaged it and sent it in. It arrived much sooner than they said! I contacted costumer service a couple of times by email and received a response within the hour. My adult daughters loved seeing these videos that we have not been able to watch! I definitely plan to send in more!

Healing memories
February 6, 2021

Recently my mom passed away. About a week after her passing I received the link to download the digitized home movies I had sent to Legacy Box. I was able to share them with my Dad and siblings as we reminisced about Mom and our family when we were kids. My youngest sister had no memories of her childhood before age 6 and she grew up with a strained relationship with our mom. While we watched the movies we laughed, cried and shared our feelings. That day my sister was able to heal and have an assurance that she was loved and did have a beautiful childhood. Thank you Legacy Box. I have more that I will be sending soon!

Sent in 20 items right before Christmas. Got an email saying they received my data. Got two more emails, one in Jan and one at the end of February, the last one saying my items were being sent for digitization. Nothing since then. I can understand being a little backlogged after Christmas but 16 weeks is ridiculous! Every day I get legacy box emails about sales and promotions, but nothing about my order. I have email proof of their receipt. It would not save in your required format

The quality and care that is taken to ensure my videos are done right is well worth the price of Legacybox. I got to share movies from the 1950's with cousins that had nothing like them of their family members.

Super pleased.

Really pleased with the results. Transfer 8mm film to thumb drive and dvds. Many of our 8mm films were over 80 years old. Although there were some film quality issues with the originals, the end results were spectacular. Now we can sit down and view on pc or tv without having to find a projector and hope the bulb still works. Thanks again, Legacy Box.

Very good service for converting old films to CD. Had 4 5" reels converted. All was put on one disc. Some of the film had sound, but found out that Legacy cannot add the sound to the CD. Did not know that at the time I place the order.

I highly recommend Legacy Box for preserving all your favorite moments. The process was seamless. And customer support was superior. Ask for Marisa. You will not be disappointed. She is wonderfula very caring and efficient staff member. She was patient, kind, and helpful throughout the process and everything turned out perfectly.
I had 8 VHS tapes converted to thumb drives and DVD's.

Took care of my tapes

Excellent experience with Legacy taking care of my cassette tapes of my mother reading books to my kids so many years ago. The updates are priceless, received your box, checked in, you are up next, we are working on the poor quality of the audio, and here is your download!
The constant updates are so meaningful with caring concern for my personal memories.

Time to capture the past

My brother held onto 40 film reels for years. Before throwing them away he sent them to me. I found legacy box online and with their reasonable rates, I was able to rescue and see our history restored. They did a great job! No fluff, no special effects needed and I was able to share this with my own son and I sent my brother his own copy on a dvd and on a flash drive! Legacy box did an excellent job.

Great service

I used Legacybox for the first time. It was so easy to use. The box arrived for me to put my tapes in. The instructions were very clear and then I was able to track the process online. Received the download super quick and really enjoyed getting to see my movies. I have already placed my second order and can't wait to get those back.

Not what I was promised

I would never recommend this company. I have been waiting over three months for my tapes and I keep getting emails telling me they're waiting for a spot to open as they're having help issues? If you're having help issues and can't keep up with the orders you already have, why do you keep advertising on all the local media stations about you current deals? I am presently trying to get my tapes and my money back. They have no problem collecting your payment in full before they do one thing for you. I still have not have one email response, just "We're waiting for a lot to open". BEWARE AND STAY AWAY!

The gift of memories

Using Legacybox was great. I am 66 and the films that I sent (old 8mm) were of my 1st birthday birthday and childhood. It was a very emotional experience for me when I watched my Dad & Mom, who passed long ago, interact with their child (Me) Legacybox was very efficient, everything was very smooth and easy. From sending the films in to receiving them back via email. I would highly recommend this company.

Still waiting
June 3, 2022

Well I was all excited to have our old tapes from our wedding, and the births of our children digitized. We haven't seen them in years and I was going to surprise my wife for our anniversary in June, but 10 weeks into it and I'm still waiting and they still haven't even started digitizing my files. The original lead time was 4 to 6 weeks then they told me 10 to 15 weeks... Not even sure if they even know when they're gonna get to it... Yet they advertise via text everyday for for me to get my new tapes in for Mother's Day... don't see how that's at all possible for anyone to get anything within a week or 2... again I'm 10 weeks in and keep getting the same email saying we're getting ready to digitize and I've seen nothing. Oh yeah and I made the mistake of telling my wife I had a surprise for her. That was 2 months ago and I'm running out of excuses as to why I can t reveal.it... causing me stress. Not happy at all...

I sent several loose photos, I did receive email advising that some of the things I sent could not be used but not clear on which ones. The service was really slow... several weeks and months. The quality of the media that I got back was not great... very poorly organized. Surprised at this lack of organization. The thumb drive works, but is poorly organized and difficult to navigate. For the cost, I was disappointed. I will use the service again and see if it gets any better because I like the concept... but certainly performed well below my expectations for the first impression.
