Extremely poor practice by LM. They have already cost me over £300, still retain over £950 after refusing a cash refund, and I HAVE NIT HAD A SERVUCE OR FLIGHT OR HOLIDAY Corporate theft
Booking made between two airlines that have no agreement for luggage transfer, and lastminute.com never mentioned that
From booking to vacation, there were no problems. The hotel was great, comfortable beds and great breakfast.
Easy to use, fast, efficient. Would use again. Never had any problems with booking tickets through them.
I think LastMinute did well, they followed up on everything and it was easy to use their site and get confirmation. All went well.
Service is bad. Flight was cancelled and they cant be contacted anymore since they are the one who booked, as instructed by the airline

It may look cheaper but they fail to mention hidden very high costs. Our booking was a mess from the very beginning.
We booked a holiday to new york. Firstly they book you the cheapest lowest grade flights possible even though when you book it says economy class and you can't change this - its not economy! We flew virgin/delta and in both cases we were unknowingly booked into economy light flights - this means, even though last minute say you can book luggage once you complete your booking you can't, you have to pay on the day at the airport and its an extra £50 per bag going out and $81 on the way back for hold luggage and you board absolutely last so if you have cabin bags you fight to find locker space. Nowhere on there website does it say you get anything other than standard economy. Be warned, the flights they book you are ZERO frills, everything is extra, you can't even pre book meals or choose your seats. It is impossible to speak to an agent, its all chat bots and emails and they just keep saying that it's in thier T&Cs (which you can not read until after you've booked!) On the one occasion they did call us to discuss our issues the agent hung up on us.
Last Minute also advise us on booking as to what you need to pay at the hotel when you check out, this is a USA thing regarding resort fees and local taxes. They told us it would be just over £200 in total - it was nearly $700! Almost 3 times what we were told. All in all we paid over £600 more over the advertised cost of the holiday for luggage and hotel fees. Last minute once again wash thier hands saying it's an estimate (it does not say that on the website) and that they have no control over local taxes and can not be expected to give accurate amounts! Luckily we were able to afford this but it was a serious shock and many people could get seriously stuck with such a huge unexpected bill. Bad service, poor communication and staff that don't care. For short uk trips you can save but for overseas, book direct and save yourself the stress. Awful Awful experience. Yes it was overall still cheaper but it wasn't worth the booking anxiety (our holiday was still amazing though).
One star rating is a star too many for Lastminute.com. I work in the travel industry, so I understand stuff happens. But I have never experienced the like. Based on what happen to us, they prey on people not knowing their rights. Unforgiveable.
Our inbound flight was cancelled a week before departure. No matter, we booked a package ie covered by the Package Travel Regs. I notified Lastminute (as I had been on the airlines' website and found out). Got an email 3 days later offering an alternative. I accepted. Heard nothing. I chased. And chased. Finally the afternoon before we left, verbally told alternative booked. Confirmation would be sent. Nothing. We left. Whilst on holiday told our whole trip cancelled. Did we have to leave our accomm? Rather stressed that night. Told when I called they were NOT responsible for new flight - airline was. Rubbish. Told I would receive a refund for the inbound flight. No. Trip was covered by Package Travel Regs DESPITE what the call centre said. Had to book return flights home ourselves (thankfully still available). Still received automated emails about alternative flight being booked after we returned! Avoid this company at all costs. They try to sidestep their legal responsibilities and you can only speak to a call centre who know nothing and the same on live chat.
I get travel is complicated. I do it for a living. I would have been the most sympathetic customer. But to not book alternative flights for a week, leave us with the uncertainty, fail to secure our return travel AND give misleading information is unforgiveable. Trip was ruined. There is no one there who is accountable and certainly no one who knows the legislation.
I am completely outraged with what Last minute.com! My name is Florina Curteanu, I asked a friend to book a flight for me and my family to Kefalonia. I canceled the flight as lockdowns were coming down in all Europe because of COVID-19. I CALLED THE LASTMINUTE CALL CENTER 3 TIMES AND I WAS ASSURED THAT I WILL BE CALLED BACK TO DISCUSS ABOUT A REFUND. No-one called.
I WANT MY MONEY BACK, YOU CAN'T MAKE PEOPLE GET ON A PLANE AND DIE BY NOT GIVING THEM THEIR MONEY BACK!
They buy up airline seats at cheap rates and then sell them onto you and make a 'small' profit as advised by the very unhelpful customer service agent who constantly talked over me and then decided to mute the call several times. If you need to book a flight - go directly to the airline and book directly with them. That way you know exactly where you stand. These people have no idea what is going on. They told me a pack of lies which I only found out when I spoke with the airline when I arrived back in the uk. They claim they call you back - they never do. They keep you on hold for 10 - 15 minutes at a time and cannot do anything to help anyone other than themselves. They admitted that they never even spoke to the airline when I called them from Turkey despite them telling me they would look into my query. They take your money and then toss you aside like a pile of rubbish. They have no customer care. You are directed to a call centre in India and it is sometimes very difficult to understand the person you are trying to communicate with. They are unhelpful, unpleasant and unwanted in this industry. They have no scruples and will do everything they can to defend their actions. Avoid these people at all costs - they give this industry a bad name. The comments made by so many people all echo the same sentiments and the resposes are an insult to people's intelligence. They have ruined so many people's holiday plans because of their incompetence and appear to be blissfully unaware of the distress that they cause. It is arrogance on the company's part that nothing seems to have changed or improved. It seems that they are happy to take your money, ruin your holiday and when you complain issue a standard and condescending reply that means absolutely nothing and in effect sends the message 'who cares... we've had your money' I will continue to peruse this and will not let it drop. The customer service adviser who did anything but help or empathise with me let out some very interesting facts about how this company operates. I cannot stress enough - keep well away from them. All the while people use them thinking they are saving money they will continue to exploit you and get away with this
10 years ago I successfully booked a birthday holiday trip with my friends and through this company - I found a great deal, went on a great holiday and had a great time.
But just as people change so do companies. Fast forward to two days ago I spend 6 days looking for the perfect deal (flights, hotels, location,) I book a holiday to find out 24hrs later (after chasing the company twice, with no direct number but a call centre, because they think it's ok to treat you like nothing, hang up and promise to call back twice but not actually follow through) it is cancelled because apparently the airline decided to cancel the flight.
- No consideration or compensation for keeping you hanging for so long whilst prices for everything are going up
- Despite asking many times no alternative options/flights were provided
- They make you really angry and nearly give you a heart attack despite you being a calm person
They then proceed to tell me a lie about how my refund is being processed (whilst days go by and travel prices go up) for which I have to chase them. I bank with a very efficient bank in the UK, so when lastminute.com tell me to ask my bank where my money is and my bank assures me lastminute.com have not refunded the money back into my account as it would show up in my account straight away, even if it was not available to use straight away I know the company is obviously committing fraud and now steals from customers, without the intention of giving money back.
I hope that my efforts won't be the only ones that gets lastminute.com properly reprimanded so that they do admit to their fraudulent company activities, stop stealing from customers and refund and compensate all those affected.
Save yourself the heart attack, NEVER USE THEM & help spread the word about their fraudulent activities.
At the very beginning everything seems to be so easy. They are taking care of the flight + hotel + transfer.
First of all, after I booked, I figured out that in my flight there weren't included the luggages for the flight and I had to pay extra in the airport.
Second of all, the transfer couldn't be fulfilled from their website and when I asked their CustomerCare team for a solution their reply was 'check on google for a company which organizes transfers from the airports to the hotels'.
Nonetheless, when we arrived at the hotel, they informed us that the booking doesn't show up in their system because the lastminute company didn't inform them about the booking. We contacted them immediately, but due to the fact that it was weekend, nobody was able to solve my problem 'till Monday morning. I had to deposit at the hotel a specific amount of money in order to cover potential expenses, until they bother themselves to solve this problem.
As a conclusion, they had to:
- take care of the flights;
- take care of the booking for the hotel;
- take care of the transfer from the airport;
1. The flights weren't booked properly.
2. The hotel booking was not made.
3. The transfer from the airport was not solved at all.
Basically we paid them for almost nothing.
I am very disappointed that I had the 'opportunity' to collaborate with this agency.
My advice: DO NOT, under any circumstances, book from this company.
I was a little worried doing a holiday online but these guys made it easy and they were helpful and patient with me.
Hotel was exactly what I expected.
Simple transaction on last minute and I feel like I got a bargain by using this site.
I wish I could give them -100, what a mistake in booking with them? This company should close up. Very bad customer service.
