We bought this refrigerator and December of 2022. The water and I stopped working in February 2023 just a few short months after we installed the new one it is now March 13,2023 and still is not fixed after three visits from the repair man and the warranty people tell me their hands are tied, terrible terrible products terrible customer warranty even there people know how terrible they are!
I ordered a microwave directly off the Kitchen Aid website on October 25,2021
It has been delayed twice since then. Today I was notified that it was in and delivery was set up for February 22,2022.
When the charge hit my credit card, I got an email from my credit card company that the item was on sale.
$85.00 less than I was charged, I called and they told me they could not help me. I could however cancel the order and reorder it if I wanted to.
And by last week (today is 9/26/23) I noticed RUST on the top of the door. Not just little spots. Pretty sizable spots that are kinda tucked under the counter where they are not as easy to see. KitchenAid won't do whatever it is that they need to do to fix it. NO WAY THAT I'LL EVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN
I had purchased a Kitchenaid blender and was quite happy with it. However, when I needed a replacement jar the item had been discontinued. What's the point of purchasing an expensive product if they discontinue the parts. Buyer beware and I suggest anyone needing a blender stay away from Kitchenaid and buy a cheaper blender that can be tossed out when it breaks. Same thing for KitchenAid food processors. Their mixers, however, do have parts available.
I have used these mixers for 30 years. I passed on my trusty Epicurean bowl lift mixer that had seen 20 plus years of major breadmaking. I wanted a bigger bowl. Got new mixer. The finish marred/scratched easily. The bowl vibrated when mixing. Long story short, Kitchenaid did send replacement BUT it was missing a beater. I put these mixers side by side and ran them. Replacement mixer had speed control issue too. Finally! I switched bowls and this fixed the vibrating bowl. Then I had to pack up second mixer and ship back. What a hassle! Kitchenaid WAS a reliable company. No more. And they've cheaped out on quality. Whirlpool is Kitchenaid. Spend money elsewhere.
My order took a while as the item wasn't in stock. But they told me this upfront. Dealing with customer service was also a great experience. They were helpful & friendly. Received my package & everything is in good order.
Don't order anything at all from KitchenAid. They'll happily take your money for your order but don't expect to see delivered anytime within the following year. They also won't bother letting you know why have not received your order or any other information about it. Their 'customer service' people's willingness to help get information is abysmal.
Ordered 2 top control dishwashers and a 48" gas range (which our kitchen has been built around) in March and not even able to get their calls returned to find out the status of my order.
Kitchen Aid dishwasher cost 900 new in Feb 2019, dead June 2022. 28 months for a $900 appliance. Warranty and customer service are a joke. Avoid Kitchen Aid, they are just overpriced Chinese made junk pitched as some sort of luxury product. Total garbage, wish I could give them 0 stars.
I can only corroborate what others have already stated about KA's lack of customer support. If you were considering the ice cream maker please don't as they just split open and the coolant leaks out after a few uses. There are plenty of photos and reviews to support the fact that there is a design and manufacturing defect.
Kitchenaid do not recognise your consumer rights although these are displayed on their web site
Burner on range is not igniting properly, gas buildup in oven causing delayed ignition and a loud boom. They sent an appliance guy out within the first year, who did not fix the problem, now it's got worse and kitchen aid wants to charge me for their defective appliance. They don't stand by their product. Terrible customer service. Never again Kitchenaid!
Bought a mixer for my mom's birthday, as she always thought highly of the brand and wanted one. Worked long enough to mix a cake and then nothing. Box cake- not mixing cement here. Customer service is only for those who want to elevate their blood pressure without the cardio. Shout out to Sherry for her Monday Morning Quarterback commentary. Amazon checked out as soon as I paid the tab. Next time will go with Sunbeam or will buy at Costco, where they care about customers.
I purchased a high end refrigerator in April 2023.
The ice maker quit working. A repair person came out diagnosed the problem as the mister. The part was on back order with no date known when it would be available. I contacted kitchen aid and they were of no help. Buyer beware. I recommend you look for other manufacturers!
Drawer microwave less than 2 years old. Internal "washers" that back metal screws fastening control panel to frame, literally disintegrated. Control panel still functions but can not be held in place without these plastic pieces. Customer service was 0 help. Until the panel fell off there was no way to see these parts.
They have the worst customer service I have ever delt with. I've been trying for days to talk to someone. They leave you on hold for 45 minutes then hang up on you. I don't know how this company is still in business. I bought a vent hood that worked for 3 months. It's not ok to treat customers the way they do. So if your thinking about buys one of their products, I'd think twice. Poor quality and even worse customer service.
Purchased 5 appliance at Best Brand Appliances in June of 2021. Was guaranteed a 3 month delivery date. 4 out of the 5 appliances were delivered within 5 months but we are still waiting on the stove/microwave combo wall unit. The latest ETA is Feb-March 2023. So frustrating and unacceptable. Sales reps at store have nothing to say. No one calls me with updates I have to keep calling to find out new/any info on the rest of my purchase.
We bought an entire Kitchen Aid kitchen for our newly built home.
Stove top, Double Oven, Fridge, Dish Washer and Microwave.
Thought bought the best. WRONG.
In less than one year all had failed. No kidding. All of them!
We did have the Lowes extended warranty or I might have gone postal
I bought Kitchen Aid appliances for my last house approx. 5 years ago ( Fridge>7000.00, Stove>5000.00, Dishwasher<2000.00, BBQ>500.00, Coffee Maker>200.00, Stand Mixer>700.00). The only thing that has not failed is the stand mixer. All the rest quit working just after the warranty expired, just over a year of service on all. I have owned a lot of houses with a variety of appliance makes and have never had such issues. If I could give a negative star rating, I most surely would.
6 years ago bought new Kitchenaid major appliances. Have now replaced all except the microwave. Due to whirlpools design $2 parts cannot be bought anymore and the entire assembly is needed. Making it less expensive to buy a new one. (And of course it will be another brand) It is sad enough the products are bad so is the customer service. When the dishwasher and stove were less than 2 years old, WP customer service informed me there was nothing they could do. They could have done any number of things, they just elected not too. Once a great company with great quality is now below average. Especially the service side.
Ok, I have had this for a while and it was out of warranty. That being said I used it less then 5 times since the bowl kept flying off every time I tried to use it. My mother took it out to try to use it and of course it flew again. I told her it never worked right and she suggested I contact Kitchen aid since they should be able to advise. Live chat sent me to email, emailed a few times with photos and all. They sent me to customer service via phone. Called them who sent me to repair which was a 3rd party. Useless. Disappointed in the quality and lack of standby their product. I think there was a time they were good but sadly no more. I would not waste the extra money for a poorly backed product.
I was excited to upgrade to the 7-quart professional level mixer. I was making more breads and double batches of cookies. My mother's KitchenAid had always been a staple in her kitchen: sturdily immobile and standing the test of decades of time. My new, pretty, brushed aluminum KitchenAid was a sour disappointment. My first go at bread it whining loudly and rocking on the counter like a baby in it's crib, it was so light. The flange that catches the bowl to keep it relatively stationary needs to constantly be tightened and i'm afraid to leave the room when it's kneading dough...unsure of what might happen.
I'm upgrading to a Breville. As part of the supply chain in manufacturing for the last 30 years, I'm well aware they want you to buy it again in 5 years. So short-sighted as I will not buy KitchenAid again...on anything.
KitchenAid has a rating of 1.1 stars from 130 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with KitchenAid most frequently mention customer service, ice maker and new dishwasher. KitchenAid ranks 59th among Cookware sites.
