Some of these comments are so 'poor me, wahh, i spilled my milk, mommy-do-it-for-me' that it just makes me sick.

Kickstarter has provided a platform and they have 'their' ideas about how to run 'their' business. It's THEIR's you selfish, cry-me-a-river little brats. If you don't like 'their' platform and what 'THEY' provided then man up/woman up, whatever, and create 'your-own' friggin' platform.

When did America become so socialistic in mindset that everyone thinks that everything should revolve around them? And that if I make something, that I should or have to change it for you?

Pull up your pants and do what you need to do to be successful or go to another country for your handouts.

FYI, I have a campaign in the approval process that I worked 8 weeks on and I think it should get approved but if it doesn't I'll know why and try again.

I originally thought that Kickstarter was a great idea, that was until the last 2 projects that I paid over $1,000 USD have disappeared into thin air with no updates in over 1 year. NO HELP whatsoever from Kickstarter! The business model is flawed. There should be an ESCROW set up to capture undelivered promises.

Ridiculous
October 23, 2014

Ridiculous. Go to Indeogogo or somehwere else, but not here. I proposed a project that was unique in re purposing used paper for notepads and stationary, yet was rejected with no reason(s) provided even after numerous emails to their corporate office. Yet, I see other projects that simply don't make sense and have smaller impacts, such as funding a icecream truck being approved; WTF.

Kiskstarter once rejected my project on the ground it should cover only ceretain sectors (e. G education), the upon resubmission after modifying the project, rejected again saying, consult rule book (no body mentioned which rule in the book is being violated). No customer support, no phone, no chat line ( it s like saying just get lost). Ok you guys lost a decent opportunity, where I have over 300,000 strong target mailing list, who would have loved to contribute.

I've pledged for a backpack on Kickstarter in 2021, Magiik by Niidaye.
They delivered a small portion of the backers bags, some of them breaking apart, but a huge portion of the backers including me didn't get any shipping information.

Since then Niidaye fell silent and took down their website and contact information.
After trying to contact them and Kickstarter several times, what i learnt is that Kickstarter wouldn't do anything because a few of the backers received a bag, as falling apart as some costumers reviewed.

Apparently 1 year before that Niidaye ran the exact same scam and Kickstarter just let them start a second project without delivering the last one.

If you get scammed on Kickstarter, nobody got your back. Use another website.

Kickscamstarter
April 25, 2019

Disappointed with Scamstarter replies of asking me to email the Creators of Sehen when they don't respond to my emails 3 times.
Poor form from Kickscamstarter to encourage the scammers in not providing the finished products.
I won't back any more of this Kickscamstarter projects anymore.
Lesson learned.
All they are interested is 5% profits and stuff everyone who backed the failed or scammed projects.

Beware of scammers
December 23, 2021

Avoid! Any "Creator" can scam you into purchasing something and Kickstarter "cannot" do anything about that. They are just pointing fingers at the creator, saying contact them. WTF? They just ignore every attempt if they wanted to! You can't even ask for a chargeback from your bank, because the money is going through KS and they just decline it. Perfect example of a scam: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/adjustabot/fully-automatic-sit-stand-desk-with-power-hub?ref=profile_backed Kickstarter earned about 30.000$ (5% of 600k) on it without lifting a finger.

KICKSTARTER DOES $#*! ALL WITH SCAMMERS/SCAMMED
January 14, 2023

About 2 years ago now I funded a Kickstarter, it got backed, and then the guy went silent shortly after making some excuses for why it was taking a while. I contacted Kickstarter, and they basically said, "It'll be fine, give it a bit longer". I begrudgingly did, and then 6 months later with the guy still not posting any updates or responses, contacted Kickstarter again, but got no response. It's been 2 years now, and still, they don't give a $#*!. So what've learned is that Kickstarter is an excellent place to scam people. There are no consequences. Kickstarter hasn't done $#*!. People are $#*!ed out of their money. The Scammer won.

DO NOT GIVE KICKSTARTER A $#*!ING DIME FOR A GOD DAMN THING!

We worked countless hours writing, editing and then rewriting our Kickstarer project. And then we spent alot of time and money on developing a compelling video about our KOEZY project. After all this effort we just found out that our project was rejected from Kickstater! We were so surprised as we had dedicated alot of resources to describe our company and why we need Kickstarter help. The problem is that Kickstarter's response is that we did not meet the guideline but we have no idea why? The guideline are very vague. Does anyone have a view on what they really want?

Great idea!
April 25, 2014

Great idea! I personally funded a couple of startups. I think that crowdfunidng could replace tradiotoinal angels. However, since more and more projects appear, it becomes hard to filter out the good fines. Besides, I have no clue how their 'featured" system works. It is obvious that featured projects always get funded, but who is there to judge which one is to get all the attention? I really think the guys should make their project curration more starightforward and open.

I supported a few kickstarter items. I was scammed one time. The problem isn't the products never materialize. It is kickstarter as a platform never have a monitor to support the customers that paid the money and never get the products.

The company that used Kickstarter to collect the money and try to create the product got to keep the money and never return the money and not alone an email. That company to this day still operate and able to correct money if they want to and never was banned by kickstarter. I am talking about a company that never announce the kickstarting project wasn't successful. They just never make the product. Three years later, the better invention is easily purchase on Amazon.

From that moment forward, I would be very careful about putting money to a company aka "Kickstarter" as a trustworthy platform.

Way back in the first week of April, I made a 'pledge' to a company advertising a way to stop internet ads. Recently (08/27/15) I went back to kickstarter to follow up on my pledge. To my surprise, they had no record of it! I have disputed the charge with my CC company, because I WAS CHARGED, and hopefully this will be the end of it. I thought kickstarter would be more consumer friendly than I have found. As far as I'm concerned, this is nothing more than a complete RIPOFF! Also, there is apparently no way to contact the company (or person) you pledged to after the funding is completed. Kickstarter says they do not keep those records.

Kickstarter sucks, I will never use kickstarted ever again. They do not answer questions directly, they deny unique projects, and approve projects that violates their guidelines. Kickstarter choose projects they want appearing on their website which is favoritism. There is other websites that is 100% better than kickstarter like indiegogo.com, which I personally use.

Overall, it's okay. I think you get out what you put in, and some of the things I've supported failed, which kind of sucks. Not sure if I'd trust it with my own ideas though.

It's really hard to get your product noticed when you launch and products that have funded over 100% are still up front. Rotate items from newest to oldest!

Buyer beware!
May 2, 2016

Buyer beware! I joined the Kickstarter campaign for the Coolest Cooler July, 2014. After numerous email explaining that they were re-engineering, over engineering the original product, manufacturing problems, and delays, and now hitting us up for extra money to expedite our rewards because they've run out of money and need to find more, and on and on, and on! I still do not have my reward TWO years later, and there is no end in sight because they're not sure where the money's going to come from. They've even suggested they will sell them retail before I get mine!

Per emails from Kickstart to me about this situation, there is no support or protection offered by them, no accountability for project initiators to be their word to their backers. Projects and commitments *could* never be fulfilled, or worse yet completely bogus, and we are on our own. Nice out for Kickstarter, but bad for backers.

I have done smaller projects, and they've turned out fine, but this one is a blow-out bummer, and there's no help for it.

KS knowingly allow fraud to be committed on their site and flat out refuse to help backers.
DO NOT use the site for any reason. Regardless of how professional a project looks it's probably a scam.

I was very moved by this project and am disgusted about the way Kickstarter ignored it on their spotlight and films we love pages. I truly believe this company practices cronyism and favoritism. Typical Hollywood wannabes. If I were a filmmaker I'd really support the films you are moved by, such as Peter Ertel's, and not fall in kickstarters' phoniness for a lot of the films "they love" which are so amateurish and teach us absolutely nothing.
