I've purchased over 8 pairs of Keen shoes in the last 5 years. In the last 2 orders ( online) there were size discrepancies with certain shoe models. I normally fit an 11 Wide but needed to order an 11.5 Wide on their oxford work shoe. This shoe was shorter than the others. Well, on my last order the shoes were WAY TOO BIG- almost like they changed suppliers or something. I was traveling quite a bit with work at the time and had the shoes delivered to my business address. I contacted Keen about 90 days after the order was placed and explained that the shoes were so much bigger than all my other shoes. Keen is unwilling to take back the new shoes and exchange for a smaller size. I will never purchase from Keen and will make it my mission to let EVERYONE know that they do not appreciate their long time customers. I will buy Merrells and Topos and will also actively message my REI reps with strong suggestion to stop distributing their shoes.

Been buying keen boots for over a decade. Tried the size I've always used and after a couple weeks I developed a blister on my big toe. I purchased 1 size larger and that worked. Called and tried to return original about 42 days old. Took the pictures they asked for and they replied, sorry, out of return window & they look used. How do you know if they work & fit well without wearing them? I spent $450 in less than 2 months & now basically have to throw a pair of good boots away. (I will donate) Product is good, but don't expect to return anything (without jumping through hoops) & then it's still, good luck!

Keen Footwear, No Soul
December 5, 2022

I did contact Keen Footwear to return a pair of hiking boots I had bought for my Grandson who is two years old, he could not get his foot in them, never worn. After having me send three sets of pictures and many e-mails, Christmas time…. They would not help me. I have purchased shoes for my whole family online with Keen, and still? No help. At a time when people are struggling to put food on the table and shoes on kids feet, shame on you Keen. No so "Cool" after all I guess…..

It's unfortunate
November 12, 2023

It is unfortunate,I use to be able to count on them as a quality outdoor hiking shoe. Sadly the craftsmanship has gone way down, they just fall apart. Will be going back to Merrill, never should have strayed, it becomes a serious safety concern if you're on the trail and your boots fall apart. Shame on Keen, what are they thinking?

They USED to be great
September 23, 2023

Been buying Keens for 30+ years and loved them. Recently bought keen hiking boots that lasted 4 months with mild street use. Faux leather strip above sole failed. Who uses Faux leather on any kind of shoe. Shame on Keen!

In 2010, I had bought my first Keens. Had been a Merrill guy before. I really liked the fit and the wear of everything Keen except a nylon eye went bad. I contacted them, and they offered to help me replace the boots four years later--not the entire amount but enough to say, "We stand behind our boots when you stand in them." I have now just bought two more pair, in 2024, after the penultimate 2019 purchase. I wear them a lot--and hike a lot. Some serious miles in NY, VT, NH, and ME. Thanks, Keen!

Off shore quality is poor, over molding on soles delaminates, and customer service is useless, runs you in circles, and does not honor warranty, if you did not buy from them. Just another company that sold there customers down the river!

I purchased my Keen walking boots about 9 moths ago. Ssv *******. They have only been used for occasional street walking. Already the wear pattern on the heel and ball are worn smooth and the upper fabric is already splitting above the toe line. I honestly don't know what to make of such a shoddy product as they were not cheap. I don't recall the exact price but somewhere in the region of US$200. I would have expected far more from this brand name and indeed this product.

Unhelpful customer service
April 18, 2023

I was trying to buy shoes made in the USA and that were non toxic. I came across keen shoes from another website that claimed they were made in the USA. Their website basically says that they are free from chemicals, I'm not sure that is true. After spending $120 on shoes because I trusted what they were advertising in their website I went to amazon to look for another pair for a bit cheaper. We'll when I went to check out there was a proposition 65 cancer warning?! Also on Amazon it says they are made in Cambodia? I messaged them asking about this and asked if they could cancel my order, not only could they not cancel my order but they didn't even answer me about the prop 65 warning. This makes me distrust this company, I don't care how much they advertise on their website that they are humanitarians and trying to save the earth. I'm not putting toxic shoes on my feet. I may as well buy shoes made in china for a lot cheaper. Very disappointing.

I have been a lover of keen sandals. The key words being "have been". Where did the flip flop style sandals with the big toe guard? Those were the best flip flop/thong style sandal of all time. Then they are gone. They were so, so good! Bring them back Keen!

I have been using my Targhee Vent Keen hiking boots for a year now and I love them! They have a cushioned footbed and a roomy toe box, which has prevented any blisters or discomfort on long hikes. The boots also have a supportive ankle design, which has helped me to feel stable and secure on uneven terrain. They are also very breathable, which has prevented my feet from getting too sweaty or overheated. I would definitely purchase another pair!

I'm unbelievably disappointed in this company. I've had 3 pairs of their hiking boots 2 of which I got from warranty claims because the sole of my boots delaminated in weeks. I recently bought a pair of their work boots where I had the same problem and had to make another warranty claim. The company was good enough to give me a voucher for the value of the boots and so i thought I'd pitch in an extra $60 and get a slightly more pricey pair of boots. When I received the boots, it was just before Christmas and was off work by the time I tried the boots on and found they were too small It had been more than 30 days since I ordered them when I contacted the company to return the boots for a larger size they said that I was over the 30 day limit and they were not going to replace them for me and we're not going to return my $60. I can't even begin to say how disappointed I am in this company. I will never be buying their product again

Garbage shoes
May 3, 2023

I live in the mountains of the Philippines. I have one pair of Keens, and one pair of Hokas. I figured I would put theses shoes thru the daily demands of living here. I will say don't waste your money on Keen. Mine have ripped. The Hokas are hanging tuff and have been worn much more than the Keens. As you can see from the photo I have already glued them once.

Purchased a pair of boots while we were on holiday in Wales. Very comfortable to wear. But after a year and very occasional use, the soles started to seperate and let water in. These were returned to the retailer and a replacement pair returned. Unfortunately they haven't learned from their manufacturing defects and the replacement boots again seperated from the soles a year later. Its a real shame as they were very comfortable but even with light use, not in the slightest bit durable. Wouldn't recommend and certainly wouldn't buy again.

A drop in quality
September 15, 2023

I have purchased many Keens over the years and my last three pair have all lost their sole completely. The adhesive has completely failed in the same way and its extremely disappointing. I think my last pair will remain my last pair from them.

Poor quality
December 14, 2021

I had the hiking boots for 3 months and the sole on both shows started to come unglued. Additionally the waterproofing only lasted for a short time. Customer service replaced them under their warranty process. Unfortunately I really didn't want another poorly manufactured product.

Any not favorable comments you leave on their social media they quickly delete. Sandals have a average shelf life of 6 years regardless of use. Then the glue breaks down as explained to me by Brad the warranty manager. The EVA footbeds contains a carcinogen (cancer causing agent) called formamide. Good luck!

I am an active hiker and have to rely on shoes to keep your feet safe and sound. I've owned Targhee II mid hiking boots. They are comfortable to wear with wide toe area shoes, I have to admit. However, they do not last. I've bought the boots about 6 month prior to my long anticipated 500 mile hiking trip to Spain. First thing that went out was the shoe laces. They just fell apart and could not tie them in the middle of hiking day. Then after about 100 miles into the hike the waterproof fail at the front toe where it bends near sole area. I had to live with wet feet the remaining miles of walking, not to mention smelling feet due to wetness in the shoes. Then about another 200 miles later, after rubber part of heel wears out it's exterior cushion wears out so fast that I had hard time finishing the walk. Limping while walking. After the trip, I complained this to the Keen and they are not going to do anything about this. This is not going to be my hiking shoes anymore.

Very poor design
March 10, 2022

These are simply the worst shoes I've ever had. Keep wearing my under armour shoes because these are impossible to tighten as they've stretched after less than 40 days. The lace style is garbage as well.
