I bought a lot of christmas decor from John Lewis which I'm very happy with - great quality and tasteful pieces.
Great place to find a variety of products, from clothing to perfume and makeup. I can buy my essential makeup products easily from John Lewis and also shop around for new perfumes. They really do stock it all in terms of beauty.
It's always easy to shop in-store and online. Quick shipping within the UK.
Thanks to John Lewis stores and online services I have pretty much kitted out my entire home... ok, so it does look like a John Lewis showroom now but there are far worse looks to have:)
Everything has been top quality, delivered on time and looks fab!
What has happened to John Lewis?it used to be such a fabulous store. Now it's a shadow of its former self. I pre-ordered the new iPhone on their website. A week later when the date arrived for the phone to be despatched, they cancelled the order because they didn't have enough stock. They didn't simply tell me that it would be delayed while they waited for more. They cancelled it. They've done this to others. They're getting more stock in, they just couldn't be bothered to use that for the customers that had pre-ordered, preferring to cancel the order and disadvantage the customer instead. I could (and should) have ordered from one of their competitors who treat their customers better. Well, at least I know for next time. Their pre-order system is useless. Their customer service teams are pointless and I've spoken to several people now. All most pleasant, but none of them able to help. They just don't understand the customer anymore. If you've also had your iPhone 15 order cancelled, I encourage you to review John Lewis here and warn others of the appalling service you've received from this once great, but now pathetic retailer.
This business just oozes with quality.
Please buy everything from them as their back up service is fantastic and they are not expensive
Take a leaf out of their book please PC World / Currys
Bought a Sony Bravia TV Model KDL43WF663 from John Lewis in July21. The TV never worked properly. When we finally decided to report it to JL were told it was under Sony's 1 year warranty. For 4 months we are being played between Sony and JL. JL sent 2 engineers to fix the TV to no avail. They just can't figure out what is wrong with it. Sony has cancelled their engineer twice and now is refusing to assist claiming they can only repair if the problem is with the TV panel. No one can tells us what is the problem. We have been JL clients for over two decades & never experienced anything like it. We have a TV that has been faulty from the minute we bought it. It came with 5 years warranty but none of the two companies involved is willing to do anything about it. JL has now discontinued this model… wonder why. JL used to be so good, not anymore! They are washing their hands off and playing the blaming game with Sony. Don't consider JL is you want to buy any electronics. I never had any problems when I bought anything from Currys. JL might still be good for bedding or bathroom towels but not a lot more… Please don't buy this model. It's an absolute rubbish and you will be left out of pocket.
I have been a loyal customer of John Lewis for years. However, I recently encountered a disappointing situation during their delivery of a washer. Although it was to be fulfilled by a two-people team, one of the two deliverymen refused to bring the washer to my kitchen via the stair and instead left it outside my kitchen for over a week, even during the hot weather in June.
I am astounded by John Lewis' failure to take responsibility for their mistakes, which only further enables the deliveryman's dishonest and unethical behaviour. It is disheartening that:
* Their Duty Manager disregards the fact that the single flight of stair has never posed a safety issue for the delivery of my previous appliances, such as a washer and a heavy 85cm Chimney Cooker Hood with Baffle Filter from John Lewis.
* Their Duty Manager remains unresponsive to the photograph of the stair I provided as evidence, conveniently claiming that the stairway is steep and lacks turning space without offering any justification that is specifically substantiated.
* Their Duty Manager fails to provide what inclination degree and width of a standard stair should be for their public delivery guidance, instead relying on a so-called internal investigation and empty talk about safety to dismiss my concerns.
* Their Duty Manager chose to close the case, even though this decision contradicts John Lewis' own delivery policy which states clearly that customers living up several flights of stairs should not be an issue.
Thus, a company of John Lewis' stature shows no business ethics and willingness to refund for a service that customers have unfortunately not received.
My sons buy my wife a Longchamp bag for Christmas in JL Oxford Street, they are advised if any problems don't worry you have the gift receipt and it can be changed in any store.
She actually wants the handbag sized version with short handles so we drive to Kingston upon Thames store today where they give her a gift card for the refund and then advise that they don't sell Longchamp bags in store but to go onto the online site where you can view full range, order and pay with the gift card.
Lo and behold we get home and find Longchamp bags are not on the online site and bags are only available in 4 London stores which is totally inconvenient to us...
So we now have no Longchamp bag, a useless gift voucher and have been blatantly lied to by both the JL Oxford Street member of staff who was obviously just trying to get a sale and now a Kingston upon Thames staff member, both of whom are either untrained or trained in lying.
Really poor service from what is meant to be one of the High Street stalwarts especially when there are so many other shops it could have been purchased from.
Emailed customer service CASE-*******, will wait for the excuses to come through.
And the response which could be summed up as "Shut up and have a free coffee and cake"
