UPDATE - I realized I made a mistake when I originally uploaded my resume. I didn't include a job description, I uploaded a link only and it gave me a false low score. I didn't realize I changed it when I signed up. The tool is helpful in pointing out how to tweak your resume. Before I started I was a 60-70% match and after I was a 90%+ match with a few short tweaks. If you use it right, it will save you a lot of time.
Great service, I volunteer working transitioning veterans and recommend it all the time. Getting your resume to the hiring manager is hard to do.
Target your resume, be early, and beat the ATS with Jobscan!
A friend shared Jobscan with me a few months ago as I started searching for my next career. I had sent out a couple of resumes to companies with no response. At the time, I wasn't familiar with the ATS system. Once I signed up for JobScan, I ran my resume with a job that I had applied for previously and found the my resume was really lacking! I used PowerEdits and suggestions to rework the resume and resent it to a company that I really had interest in! Almost immediately, I got a positive response and landed an interview! In fact, by using JobScan along with LinkedIn (where I had improved my profile using another JobScan feature!) I have had 3 job offers in the past two months! Amazing! I highly recommend this tool for anyone in the job market!
Easy to use and effective, specially for Linkedin, which you wouldn't thought of customizing. The free trial is great option too, and allows you to test before buying. It landed me a lot of interviews and ultimately a job.
The scanner pulled "keywords" from the job description that weren't in the job description. For example, there were headers in the job description that said things like "Abilities and knowledge" and the scanner pulled that as a keyword that I needed in my resume. That makes no sense.
Jobscan has helped me a lot to edit my CV, Linkedin Profile, and in each posting I did, the comparison with the Job Description had made my resume completely aligned with the job posting. That comparison is completely beneficial to facilitate the interview filter. I really love this tool, very easy to work with, and I'm truly sure resumé corrections you do on your CV, will give you better time to prepare for a great interview.
Hi, Pablo! Thanks for the awesome feedback!
Jobscan was just what I needed to refine my resume and update my LinkedIn profile. My first pass at an application through an ATS system didn't make it. Then I used Jobscan and worked out the kinks in my resume that got it blocked by the ATS. My resume then made it through and I got the interview!
It would be better if I could scan in bulk instead of individual cv. For example I put a collection on 5 CV against requirement and I get a rate for each then I'll decide which one to keep or run against 4 other CV.
I wish to pay with PAYPAL or Apple Pay - so I could manage my subscription plan better.
In Paypal or Apple Pay i can see ALL my subscriptions (the next charging date).
With credit card i have to remember it myself. I have to visit you, learn how to cancel etc. This is very inconvenient.
While making edits to your resume in Jobscan it will let you copy lines from a Word document and paste into the Jobscan revision, but know that the website reformats the lines you insert and it is a pain to get the format in Jobscan back into the same format as your uploaded resume. It's easier to type in whole line changes than it is to paste from a document from your computer. Jobscan also changes your font when you make edits. If your original uploaded document is in New Times Roman, jobscan will change your edits to another font which you will have to manually correct. Also they do not have a support phone number. Real time support is not an option.
After an upload and scan, your product should propose ways to resolve any problems found in the resume by providing a bulleted list of clickable content options to insert preferred content and resolve each problem. If a resume doesn't include a certain term used in the job description, propose several options using that term from which the user/subscriber may click, insert, and move on to the next problem in the resume.
After a few scans, I realized the benefits of the tool. I couldn't determine the important keywords for the postings with my human eyes. At first, it was lengthy, discouraging and time-consuming spending hours updating my resume to each job posting, but I decided to trust the Jobscan system. EVERY resume (3) that I sent resulted in an interview request, and I secured a position right away within one week of sending resumes. But Jobscan is not all; this is what I learned:
- I spent 2 weeks full-time learning and preparing before sending resumes
- Research how to write a resume how to beat the ATS systems.
- Write accomplishments
- Write 15-20 STAR or SOAR stories related to your experience
- Research interview questions and relate your accomplishment stories to them
- Update LinkedIn
- I also use Grammarly to make sure my grammar is perfect
Thank you, Jobscan! I learned a lot about keywords, and the system is well worth the money!
Thanks, Caroline, for your excellent feedback! Congratulations on your new job!
Easy to use. Working as described. I've done 2 scans for different jobs for resume and cover letter. It's only been a day so I haven't received any responses yet. Fingers crossed.
Thanks, Elaine!
Very good! I did notice that Jobscan sometimes misses skills mentioned if the wording is not exact, i. E. "project management" versus "projects managed."
I had no idea that the way I phrased information would not be detected by ATS. This is a great tool for anyone starting job applications post-graduation.
Thanks, Stephanie, for your great feedback!
I used Jobscan several times before discovering the gems, in terms of details, to help me actually craft my resume. Jobscan is not a simple word counter. I'm very pleased, thank you!
Thanks, Tony, for your great feedback!
Really surprising service. Increases confidence about applying in a faceless ATS system. Helped me to fine tune resume versions to positions and stand out.
Great feedback! Thanks, John!

Not so friendly. Can't understand clearly why rating is not so good? IF a word comes 28 time sin JD it doesn't mean we need to use the same that many times.
I had no clue how my resume was not matching with the jobs I am interested in. Using Jobscan has given me some hope that I'm now headed down the right path.
Excellent! Thanks, Mary!
Answer: Hi Tanisha! Jobscan recommends at least 80% for ATS to make your resume visible to the hiring manager. To boost your match rate, take a look at the missing skill and keywords (the ones denoted as red X) and see which ones are relevant to include in your resume. Focusing on including missing keywords that appear more frequently in the Hard Skills section will quickly boost your match rate. Here's a video tutorial that helps with getting your rate up - https://www.jobscan.co/video-resume-match-report. I hope this helps. Please reach out to support@jobscan.co if you have questions as you go along. Thanks!
