I ordered on 11/29 several yards of fabric to make blankets for Christmas gifts. I received it all except one. It just showed processing when I checked my order status. After receiving all of the other fabrics, and seeing that this one was still processing, I emailed their customer service (there is no phone number listed on their website). I received no response. Several days later, I emailed again. Again, no response. I was getting worried because if the fabric isnt going to arrive in time for Christmas, I needed to find another gift for that person. I googled it and found a phone number and called them. I spoke with a man who said that he would have to escalate the issue to another dept and that they would get back to me in 3 days. I explained that i needed to know if this was going to come or not and could he just tell me that much? No, he couldnt. So I waited the 3 days. Still didnt hear from anyone. FINALLY, I received an email stating my item had shipped. Never did get any contact from anyone to explain to me what was going on. Nothing. TERRIBLE customer service. You should be ashamed, Joann Fabrics!

A friend in Canada asked me to make a Hufflepuff patch for part of her daughter's Christmas gift. I couldn't do so as it would infringe on copyright laws, so I opted to buy the patch and include some matching buttons. Because they were no longer in stock at the local stores, I ordered them via Joann's website. To justify shipping, or get it for free, I spent an additional $80 on fabric for items I could make for other gifts. That was a few weeks ago. My order has been coming in bits and pieces. Seemingly, with the least important pieces first and I am STILL WAITING for the buttons and patch. My husband just left for the post office sans Hufflepuff items and I am quite angry. If and when they come, I will have to send them separately, pay for extra shipping, AND they will be late. Thanks for ruining her gift. Your tardiness ruined Christmas for a number of people.

I have been to the Joanns in Elko NV, many times and each time the workers were extremely rude and snappy towards me. Every time I go in there whether it was to get craft supplies or fabric the people there would always brush me off and say rude remarks to me which brings my mood down. I give Joanns so many chances and each time I get let down. I am very disappointed in Joanns and I'm getting to the point where I will just either order online or go somewhere else so I don't have to interact with the workers. I understand that not all workers do this, however, a majority of the older workers do and I'm fed up with it and don't want to waste my time and money on this Joanns ever again.

Better order right

Less than an hour after placing my order, payment still pending, they couldn't cancel or alter my order. The only way to fix it was two order 2 more yards (I needed one) and pay for the additional shipping/processing fees. I was told I could reorder and return, but I wouldn't get back $7.95 shipping. I could return it to the store, but the closest one is now 80 miles from me. They said they would give me a return label for free, but oh it hasn't been processed and shipped yet so I need to call back after it does before they can make a label. What a joke.

Girl, don't do it!

This was my first time ordering from Joann dot com, and needless to say, MY LAST. Order took over 3 weeks from the date of order to arrive, and it was incomplete. After waiting forever, one of the items I needed the most was cancelled by Joann Fabrics. Trying to call and get an answer from Joann's customer service was excruciating! Not only was the information unhelpful, but it was not delivered in the friendliest of manners. Girl, don't do it! I did it, but I won't do it again. My advice, try Walmart dot com.

I shop at the QUAKERTOWN PA location, only because there are no other shops in the area who carry fabric. The customer service is horrible. They sincerely don't care if you find what you're looking for or know how to use the products or not. When I called to ask about in-store classes, the girl on the phone didn't know, so I asked if we could ask the manager and she told me that the manager wouldn't know either. What are the chances of that? That is by far not the only bad experience I've had there, just the most recent. It's disappointing, to say the least, every time I go into that store.

15 minutes wait just for some one to pick up the phone! Nauseating recorded replies-"Are you still there?" "And now a word from Joann" "Joanns confession No. 52", etc. Now on 17 minutes...I can see why they have such a poor rating.

I had ordered some things i needed on their website, turns out they charge you shipping each time they ship something. So if you've got 9 items in your cart, not only do you pay shipping at checkout, they also automatically charge you shipping on each item shipped. I had one iron on patch come in and got charged $5.28, are you serious? In total my order was $54.29 including express shipping, then i got charged roughly $45.43 on top of my order total, if you're not willing to pay twice your order, DO NOT ORDER ONLINE THROUGH JOANN. They also emailed me saying some of my items had been cancelled and have yet to get a refund for them. Had i known this i would've went to the store myself and just paid the tax. Not to mention if you want to return items in store from your online order, they only reimburse you the amount for the item, not the shipping. I reached out to their customer service trying to cancel my order and they emailed me back saying they don't have an order through my email address. Horrible horrible horrible. I will be telling everyone i know not to order through them, i'll take my money somewhere else next time. If i could give this place anything below a 1 star, i would.

Yardage not right

I ordered 5 yards of 1 fabric as I needed it to do a project for someone. They are back to shipping a 3 yard piece and a 2 yard piece. I Can't use the fabric like that. Called them and tried to explain I needed the 5 yard piece. They didn't care. Said they send what they have. They don't care what your pattern calls for. Not a very good online fabric store.

I recently ordered three yards of fabric from the Joann website. They sent it to me in two different pieces. It was important to my project that it be one full piece. When I explained to their customer service they screwed me over, that they should warn people that your fabric may come in two different pieces, they said they did nothing wrong because they sent me the amount I ordered and told me to do a return. They don't understand their own business and how frustrating it is when you don't get what you ordered. I shouldn't have to drive out to their closest store to do a return/exchange when they are the ones who messes up.

Beware - if you order online you can't cancel the order and if you pay with PayPal even though it's your checking account they will only issue store credit you cannot get a refund.

Bad

I wish I had read this before I ordered. I have ordered or been charged about $200 and have only received 1little pic decorations. I can't even get my orders to come up. I advise not ordering from them online. I'm handicapped and can't go to the store. I have doubts about getting things I have ordered. Email said I got 2picks (lol) in the mail but only received 1. Very bad service. I will never order from them again. I advise the same.I can't add a photo of something I don't have.

Deceptive email

I tried to use a 70% OFF YOUR ENTIRE CUSTOM FRAMING ORDER coupon at the Olympia. WA store today just to discover that the 70% off only applied if I bought a picture frame. I didn't need a picture frame and the coupon never said that you needed to purchase a frame. Then I was required to pay a "deposit" which was the entire amount of my custom framing order. Their "deposit policy" wasn't stated in their email either. Naturally I complained, only to be told that I was the first person who had ever an issue with either one of these things. I find that really hard to believe!

I had to take a break from shopping in the local Joann Fabrics store because it's so poorly run. Each trip there took over 3 hours. Super long check out lines, super slow at the cutting table, disorganized, messy, nothing in stock even though it shows in stock on line, merchandise hanging in the wrong isles, etc.

Their website is the bane of my existence! I have spent HOURS filling up my cart the past couple months only to have the cart dump out the products, then an hour later, they're back, then some disappear, then they come back, then disappear again before I get a chance to check out. And then when I finally do try to check out...nothing happens. Spinning and looping back to the cart. The app and the website are absolutely infuriating! Over the past couple months I have had success with getting only 2 of the 15 orders to go through. It's like they're stuck in the 70's with their clunky, tired, old, paaainfully slow website that in the end is a total waste of time. Ugh...do you want my money or not?!?! Unbelievable how this company is run. Not surprised to see they plan on shutting down some locations in '23.

Waited in line forever to buy a sewing machine at the store in Clinton Utah. I bought an automatic my wife wanted a manual. Took it back the same day waited in line forever again and was told Joann's doesn't except returns of sewing machines. Had we been told that when we made the purchase, we never would have bought it. I truly hope they go out of business. Hate this store.

Colorado Springs store is the worst!

I'd been ill so I ordered items for curbside pickup 3 different times in the last few weeks. All 3 times one or more of the items was not actually in stock at the store, so those items were cancelled. The next time I went in person, I spoke to the store manager about the poor quality of their inventory control data and he brushed me off saying he had no responsibility for what the web site says, then he walked away.
Yes, the selection is good, but the wait to get fabric cut can be very long (you take a number), and the management isn't effective or polite. This store is at the bottom of my list for quilting and embroidery materials.

Joann's had a 25% off coupon (# WK1122-4IDV-LDVF-UG) for both regular and sale priced items. When we tried to apply this coupon to our online purchased item, it would not work. We called Joann's direct but they said the discount did not apply to our selected item. We read all of the "exceptions" for that coupon and nothing stated our item was an exception. Joann's should honor the coupons they post as written.

These guys are CROOKS

I used to love Joann's, but have you all noticed a disturbing trend at your store? They mark items at one price on the shelf, and at the register it almost always rings up higher? In any normal store they would adjust it for you, but not my Joann's! They ignore it. I bring it to their attention and then they ignore it some more. One item had a tag on it that read $1.99 and it rang up as $2.49, and the clerk just looked at me like "get over it" and told me what my total was. Another time they acted like I was crazy for thinking something cost $13, and when I volunteered to show them the whole display where all the items were, and why I thought that she barked out, "The price is $29! Do you want it?" No, I did not. I feel like never going to this store again, and I hate to make a scene and hold everyone up when there's this long line and only one cashier. So I have to walk out without the item and they honestly don't give a rats $#*!. Please, let's band together and make them get it right or give us our money back! They can't display false prices and then not honor them. This is illegal. I for one am going to boycott them and write a letter to the editor in the local paper. Why don't you join me if you check your receipt and find the same thing has happened to you?

The most idiotic marketing scheme I have ever seen!

I don't understand how can this company be still in business! Either their customers don't pay really attention to their advertisements or they just don't care. But I do and want to warn everyone who shops at Joann Fabric thinking thy have competitive sales, they are being fooled with false coupons!
First you can't use a coupon if you are already in the store: You need to place the order online and then wait until they tell you that's ready for pick up.
Second, if they are unable to locate the items that it shows as available in the store, they will cancel your order and just charge you for whatever they have!
The discount if you go shop in the store is only about half of what you would get if you shop through their app. Is this a customer friendly company? NO!
Is this a company who cares about your satisfaction? NO
I am speechless at how they can stay still in business. They are the worst of the worst.
My experience is totally negative and it is not worth my time of shopping online and wait for something they might not find and therefore leave you empty handed and looking for the remaining yarn on your own.
Please, save yourself time and struggle, go shopping somewhere else.
