When I started using Instacart almost a year ago everything was great. Once in a while, an item would be out of stock, or I'd get something replaced, and I'd be ok w/it bc hey, stuff happens. Then it started happening more frequently and the shoppers started getting sloppy. Finally out of stock/short items were the norm and the shoppers were just off the chain. This last order is exactly that, MY LAST. I'm done. So done I need a new word for "done." I had a large order and 25% of it was delivered as ordered, another 25% of it completely missing/not delivered (but I was still charged for it) including milk, eggs, and tea... basic staples that stores rarely are out of, especially all at the same time. The other 50% of the order was *completely* wrong; substitutions that I wasn't notified of or approve of. I was so fed up I took the "wrong" items back to the store and low and behold, everything I originally wanted was in stock (and I know for a fact it was the same store my shopper was at). It was as if the shopper went in with a blindfold and just grabbed whatever they could get their hand on (no, really). What a nice concept Instacart is... was. Expectation meets result leaves MUCH to be desired and I'm writing this off to a learning experience. It's like playing a game of "let's see what's in the bag" literally every time I order. The worst part is that customer service is unprofessional, not helpful, and for all intents and purposes, takes your money and leaves you hanging. Just an all around F-. I'm done.
They put a hold an authorization hold my credit card however they canceled the order when I called customer service to ask why no one can assist. This is despite me paying for an active subscription on April 26.
First time using a grocery store app to deliver groceries - working late hours as I often do and decided to try it with about 15 items. No issues with the grocery store chain app. Apparently they punt to Instacart where it all fell apart. Poor shopper texted me that they lost the order and they could not check out. However it is third party so i have no access to my order through them. Wound up being cancelled total waste of time on my part and the poor shopper. They called me and tried to blame the shopper - I think not. Obviously not into the 20th century yet. Will resort to ubereats for times like this until something more efficient comes along!
I have sent many emails. No response at all! It has been weeks! Nothing! I am just over it. The shoppers all but 2 were fantastic! It's not the shoppers but the company that is the major issue.
I was overcharged $11.74 on my order from Aldi for $127. Guess I'll go back to taking an Uber. I have tried to get instacart to correct this simple math problem for over 2 weeks now. All I get is more emails confirming that I filed a complaint. This was on my Discover card. Discover informed me that there are NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS about instacart. Cheating customers out of money seems to be a common practice with this company.
DO NOT USE THEM! RUN AWAY FROM THESE CON ARTISTS!
This company is a joke. Do not buy groceries through them and definitely do not try to seek employment. I was a shopper with them and could not get enough hours on my schedule to maintain their requirements for early access to put in for the next week's schedule. So then you lose early access of scheduling and have to TRY to get any hours in regular scheduling and you might as well forget that. Then for the hours I did get I would literally sit in grocery store parking lots in the middle of the heat zone from the map and not get one batch for hours upon hours daily. Their system is being manipulated and they do nothing about it. When I call for help it is some foreign idiot who has no clue how to do their job. Terrible, terrible company!
Do not recommend! This is the worst food deliver service! They no longer deliver Whole Foods, therefore this is not good! The delivery service was overpriced to begin with, and the site was never user friendly. The name Instacart has nothing to do with the service, they aren't always on time or quick with delivery. It's too expensive, there are better and more professional delivery services such as Google Express, Peapod, and Costco who do a great job with delivery.
I absolutely love using instacart for my grocery shopping. Don't have to wait in long lines when its busy and gives me more time to spend with the kids. Saves me the pain of my kids throwing a temper tantrum when i don't buy them everything in the store. Not to mention a life saver when i have no car and taking large bulky items on the public transit is not my idea of fun. Yes it can be pricey but it does help me out to have the service there. They have to raise prices a little to compesate your shopper for their time, labor and gas which i understand and is reasonable. I didn't have a bad experience yet fingers crossed. Even when it rains my bags come tied up so nothing gets damaged especially when it comes from in store shopper service which i wanted to share on here. The shoppers club card has not always been remember but everything is made right once i call instacart they issue a credit towards my next order whi ch is easily fixed in 2 minutes. Other than that its been a life saver for me and my family.
Watch it. Smith's Marketplace will allow you to order groceries on their site through Instacart. Smith's will not take ANY responsibility for this lousy company's failure to deliver as promised. I called Smith's Marketplace in Mesquite, Nevada and they literally laughed at me. They passed me off to their "Click" service and she literally LAUGHED at me. She told me to Google Instacart and call them. I checked the website and it said, "we have started this order so you can't add any more to it. They sent me a text message saying a shopper was working on my order. But, when I called their headquarters, they told me there were no shoppers in this area. The EXACT same thing happened to me two years ago and I decided to give them another try. Now, I am without my groceries, without my grocery money (it will take 3 to 7 days to get it back), and apparently, I'm very funny because the Instacart person in some foreign country can't do a damn thing about it and can't find a manager after 30 minutes to escalate the situation. Don't waste your money or your time. I was on the phone for 29 minutes waiting for some woman to find a manager. There was no manager to be found. What a surprise. I am 60 years old. Ill. Broke now because I spent all my money on groceries and might get relief in 3 to 7 days.
I used them for a while and I was consistently having problems getting the wrong amounts of food due to the shoppers not reading my notes or the app not sending the shoppers my notes, in an attempt to resolve this problem customer service was pathetic, i would never recommend them
Use of Instacart has become a weekly nightmare in our home. With almost every order, there's has been a constant and consistent element of frustration, annoyance, inconvenience and extremely poor customer service in using Instacart. While Instacart has completely jaded us on their service, I trust Amazon Fresh will provide better implementation of this simple concept.
I've used Instacart multiple times with no issues until I placed my most recent order. The girl couldn't find half the stuff I asked for even though it was mainly things like ketchup, chips, butter, etc and wouldn't stop texting me. Then, she can't find my apartment complex. THEN, as soon as she gets here, she cannot find the stairwell even though there's one right around the corner by the main office, where she parked and wouldn't stop blowing up my phone saying how she was lost. I told her to take the elevator and she REFUSED! She went into the office of my complex and starts complaining to the employees that she can't find my apartment and how she's lost! I run down the stairs, trying to meet here there and she's nowhere to be found, so I ran back up the stairs to my apartment thinking she found it and again, nowhere to be found. She starts calling me again complaining she can't find my apartment so AGAIN I go down the stairs, finally meet her where she's sitting in her car, not even attempting to find me. I take all the groceries myself and get them upstairs, she was so lazy she couldn't even do that. Contacted Instacart and they only gave me $10 as compensation. NEVER using them again.
I've tried to get an issue with the total charge of my order being more than what I actually received by both phone AND email only to be told it's my "misunderstanding" of how to read a receipt. Absolutely no attempt to look into my problem to see if they could actually have made a mistake. I will tell everyone I know about my experience.
By mistake (as I was told by Instacart) I received the Whole Foods receipt from my purchase. Difference between Instacart receipt and the Whole Foods receipt is almost $15 on their favor. I called Instacart and they told me that I am not supposed to have the receipt from the supermarket and that the correct one is the one at the Webpage. The difference, after tip, is almost $10. They said these overcharges on prices are made by them to pay for all the services I received. I think this is a joke, I already paid one year of delivery and they are charging me more? Instacart is overcharging some of the products and cheating on people. How much additional money are they making from this "extras"?
I placed an order to be picked up between 8-9. O never received any. Communication, so went to the store after 2 hours. I was told the order couldn't be completed. Thanks for wasting my time.
I love the convenience of someone shopping for me and delivering. I am a working mom of 2 busy young kids. I like Instacart so much that I signed up for monthly service so I wouldn't be charged for each delivery and service fee. I am now very leary if ordering fresh fruit and vegetables due to the last couple of deliveries where I got molded and bad strawberries. Customer service was also terrible. It's so loud in the background I could barely hear the guy I was speaking with. I was told I'd get a credit or refund and it didn't happen. I had to call back. Amazon Prime Now Whole Foods delivery customer service is much better. Just inform them that an item was bad and get automatic refund. Step it up Instacart. There's too much competition
Love the service I get from the shoppers and the drivers. If you have an issue with a forgotten item, a replacement or a mistake with your order, forget getting it resolved. A hard-to-understand Indian kid did nothing but repeat himself over and over after keeping me on hold for 20 minutes. I asked to speak to a supervisor, he dismissed me until I got angry and demanded I speak to a supervisor. The little, snot chick who claimed to be a supervisor, was even less help. I'm done with this company. They don't care about your business. They rob you blind with service charges and delivery charges. The drivers aren't always friendly either. Great concept if they actually cared about their customers.
In a rush? Don't use this service because you are just going to end up going back to the grocery store and redoing your entire shop. I have NEVER received the products that I ordered. As someone with dietary restrictions I need certain products and 100% of the time the delivery person is lazy and buys the first thing they see. 0/10!
Instacart has continuously let me down time and time again. From delayed orders to accidental overcharges, it's a service I hesitate to recommended to anyone. I not only use instacart for personal use, but rely on it for my office deliveries, with orders being placed in the $200-$300 range WEEKLY. There has not been a single account where instacart has delivered our groceries during the time frame that was requested (often postponing the drop off by an hour). I promise that this is no exaggeration. The idea behind instacart is great, but it's route of execution is completely flawed.
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
