I wish they were negative stars. From blatant sexual harassment, missing items that is a regular occurrence, not able to reach anyone, different answers from each person, a telephone number that rarely works, missing $80, and their inability to solve any of this
Save your money and do your own shopping. The shopper will force you to accept items you do not want and wont even tell you what the items are... its a surprise at delivery. They are thieves.
Worst freaking service ever! Didn't follow my instruction didn't get my order right got 1 out of the 3 things I order correctly had swapped out women's one a day pregnantal softgels for some hair and beauty gummies that she can't even eat because of her pregnancy. Look if I had wanted the wrong order I would've never asked for it to be delivered. I'm a thousand miles away my wife is pregnant and she was craving for some pickles I wanted her to stay in the best of health with my unborn child so thats why I had used this delivery service! This is my first time and probably last time using instacart! I had also put in the instructions to please msg me when its delivered but never happened either!
Instacart deactivated my account wrongfully. They accused me of allowing my account to be used by someone else. Wow!. When I ask for proof I got no response. As a mother of 3, I utilize this income to provide moat of the time. I was not given a fair opportunity to defend myself. I believe they are using the fact that I recently moved to another state to try and justify these accusations. Even when I notified them and one of their CS reps updated my zones for me. This is sad and unfair. You reap what you sow.
I have been ordering groceries because I am high risk and quarantine. Whole Foods from Amazon was getting expensive, and they didn't carry a lot of staples so I decided to try Instacart. First, you will NEVER, not ever, get everything you order. EVER... don't even hope. They will not deliver the item they skipped, you can either pay a new delivery fee, or just forget about it and hope maybe maybe maybe you'll get it next time. You will be bombarded with popup after popup... rate your service... rate your replacement item... recommend your friends (AS IF). You can't turn these off, there is no "DONT ASK AGAIN" or even "NOT NOW" prompts... you just have to sit there and delete popup after popup while you are trying to shop. The popups usually pop right on the item you're trying to buy,. There is no actual HELP, on Instacart. There is a HELP key, but it takes you to the same endless loop... goes like this REPORT A PROBLEM. RATE YOUR SERVICE. RATE YOUR REPLACEMENT. REPORT A PROBLEM. RATE YOUR SERVICE... you get the idea. The website says you'll get an immediate email regarding your refund. You will not.
To summarize, you will pay top dollar for every item, whether you actually receive the item or not. If you're determined, you can maybe get a refund. But you'll find the process infuriating.
I had an instacart delivery today and one of the items still have store price sticker on it. Instacart charged an additional 20% of the marked price. Naturally, they charge a delivery fee and a service fee. Service fee pays for their operational costs and delivery fee just a pocket liner.
I understood that there was a mark up in prices, but this was the first time I actually saw what it is.
This may not be criminal, but is certainly an unethical business practice. In the future, I will only shop at Whole Foods - free delivery and 5% discount for prime members, or will take Uber/Lyft to my local stores, as I would save s considerable amount.
I will never use instacart again and will never recommend this service.
Perfect delivery, very fast and through. Good communication. Will definitely patronize again. My shopper was the best. I think his name is Raphael.
Instacart raises the price of each item. I noticed this when I realized the cereal I get every week from Sam's was costing me $7. I went on the Sam's club website and it was still listed for $5 there. I then checked the process of every item in my cart and instacart had raised the prices on individual items by either 1or 2 dollars. That's when I checked the proces for tom thumb and kroger, same thing. I also had to take a return to costco purchased from instacart and they gave me $7 less per item. I had purchased the case of ensure drinks. They said they can only refund md the store price which was $7 less per case. Instacart makes it's own prices. I cancelled right away. If you rich and don't care about money this service is for you. If you are budgeting or really just can't go in store try walmart plus instead.
As an example, they charge $50 for a tub of Vega protein powder when the store sells it for $40 - that's a 20% markup, and does not even include delivery and tip charges. Terrible.
I placed my first and last instacart order today. The shopper charged me for items that I did not order, nor did I receive. The fraudulent charges added up to under $20, but if each shopper does this several times a day, they can purchase their own groceries using customer's payment methods. Most people are probably trusting the service providers to be honest and probably don't even check their final receipt.
Avoid using. I've tried using them 3 times, and each time has been a disaster. This most recent time, I ordered a 12-14 pound turkey, which Kroger has on sale for $5.55. This was the primary item I wanted. I added about 10 other items to my cart. I specified "no substitutions". I paid $12.48 in surcharges for delivery. I got 2 text messages saying Kroger was out of stock on a soup and garlic I ordered. And then the order was dropped off (late). My turkey was out of stock. The shopper substituted a $35,25 pound turkey for the $5.55 turkey. They substituted dry roasted sunflower seeds for a can of soup. I WAS SO MAD! I tried calling Kroger. They said to call Instacart. I called and spent 45 minutes on hold and was eventually told they would credit me the $30 difference between the two turkeys... but on a future order. I agreed, but then discovered I will still have to pay a surcharge for picking up an order.
The bottom line is, swapping a 25 pound, $35 turkey for one that is $5.55 is BAIT & SWITCH. Kroger still has the $5.55 turkey listed on their website! I know darn well that they are not many families that want a huge turkey for Thanksgiving this year. I believe the sale price turkey is featured on Instacart so they can scam people into (instead) buying the big turkeys that Kroger is having a hard time selling. And how about substitution of dry roasted sunflower seeds for a can of spanish rice soup? Does that make ANY sense at all?
Never again would I use instacart in Prescott Valley AZ. I never received a receipt from the drive not sure what the total charges were, can't compare what I was shorted or the prices and customer service just want to give me the runaround. Next time I will pay a neighbor to help me go shopping.
Not worth it!
No real customer support, tried their phone 5 times, just an announcement and music forever. And everytime ontheir supposed chat help line we are some crazy number 199 in line. The only thing they did well was to charge us $99 subscription.
Horrible experiences, Never ever online shopping from Costco. Very poor service, they just put everything in behind our exit door which we stuck couldn't open the door without to inform or ring the door and called after 2 hours that they delivered and also missing the orders and when we called waited so long no properly answer at all I'm just recommend you guys, never ever shop online with COSTCO everything are expensive then store, short expire date and horrible service.
They charge you for what is not available then they remove it. Continue with order with a delivery charge... you don't get notified via shopping cart that items are out of stock
I used Instacart for several months this year, and, at first, they were awesome. Occasionally, I would get drivers who whipped through the store replacing and refunding so they wouldn't have to look for an item and wouldn't communicate. Others were so unbelievably customer-oriented, it was a pure pleasure to deal with them. Sadly, Instacart must have chased the good ones off in my area because now both drivers and the company are ripping the customers off far too often.
It's always the high dollar items that don't seem to make it to your door and Instacart only credits the amount to your next order, which means you'll be paying twice as much for delivery, service fees, and tips.
I checked the price on a roast at my local store, and it was 60 dollars. Through Instacart, it was 100. The next time I want to go to a piranha feeding frenzy with myself as the entre, I'll head back to Instacart.
My family is quarantined due to Covid and we were excited not to have to impose on family and use this service. Big mistake! We were charged for the following items not received strawberries, blueberries, garbage bags, windex, creamer, melatonin, Tylenol pm, tissues, ice creamer. I was also charged over $13 for a family pack of 91% angus ground beef and I received a small package of 81% that was $2.81. Also received 3 bottles of the wrong juice. I was only asked about a shampoo replacement. The tracking was also not accurate.
Items received compared to items charged did not match. I spent over an hour on the phone with customer service, issue was not resolved. It would have been much easier if I had shopped myself.
Did you know that Instacart inflates the prices online when you order, and even if your shopper gets you a great deal, uses coupons etc, the customer doesn't see that savings!? Well it's true. They keep the difference. And then try to blame it on the store for mandating that the prices be high online.
The biggest fraudulent scam company that not only charges pretty high fees to begin with, and pays their shoppers pittance, but also skims off the top and charged customers a different price for groceries even if that's not the price that the company paid.
Do not use! Find a different service! They are capitalizing on the COVID pandemic and ripping people off.
I ordered some groceries. The site took the order and said my delivery would arrive between 4:00 and 5:45. The order had not arrived by 5:55, so I looked in my email to discover a notification that my order had been delivered at 4:30! Okay, that's annoying, but not tragic. I contact the Instacart via chat -- a very disconcerting way to communicate on a mobile phone. They will re-order my groceries and send them out within two hours. So, that's inconvenient -- waiting another two hours without being able to proceed with my evening because I don't want to miss the delivery -- but worse, I figure the first delivery went to the wrong home. Trying to prevent that form happening again, I ask what address they have. The agent will not say. I ask again. The agent says it will be delivered to the address on file. I as what address they have on file. The agent says that information is private. I say, I know my address, I want to be sure you know my address because the first delivery, the one you claim was delivered, was not delivered to my address. The agent cannot help me. So I ask that the order be cancelled and my money refunded. Okay, the agent says -- eventually -- I'm summarizing here. I also ask that my account with Instacart be deleted. Agent agrees and says that is done. Next day, I get up and go get groceries myself. Then, I get email that my groceries will be delivered within two hours. I email back saying I did not order anything new. I say their agent promised to delete my account. I say I want my account deleted now, since that has not happened already. I demand they cancel the order. Instead, three hours later (not two), a shopper shows up in our driveway with groceries. I apologize, explaining that I had already been shopping because the order I had place the day before never arrived. The next day I get a nasty email accusing me of having had "an altercation" with their shopper! By the way, I still have not received a refund! Instacart owes me $85.15 and a massive apology.
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
