Order placed and paid for. Driver made decision to turn around and not deliver due to road conditions but would not respond to questions via text. Called instacart who would not change the order back to a pickup so we could actually get our order and thier refund policy is 7-10 days. They would not discuss or help.
Will never use this service again.
I was very pleased and shocked of how fast Monee(The shopper) was at getting my mothers groceries. My mom is 70 yrs old and she lives in Oklahoma i live in texas and was unable to help her physically get to any stores she had no food or nothing. She was literally shut down. I didnt know what to do so i got online which i usually dont do. I found the instacart app and immediately started checking out food. I figured it take 2 or 3 days like amazon to get to her. Was upset about that but this app got it to my moms apt in 1 hour. I was so suprised and thankful for these people they definately made my moms night. Thanks yall...
Ask driver to show you the receipt. Sometimes you will notice that what they paid vs. what instacart charges you is inflated by 10%. I paid instacart $624.80 and the driver showed me a receipt for $483.62, $65 was tip, so the difference are KNOWN fees of $20 and the rest are HIDDEN fees of a whopping $56.
Instacart says the store sets the prices but the variance goes to Instacart not the store. Go direct to store and use their delivery option. This is simply hidden fees on top of the fees they arleady charge so this is a very sneaky way to hide fees!

IT IS IMPERATIVE TO KEEP THE FOOD COLD YET THESE IGNORANT SHOPPERS CHOOSE NOT TO COMPLY WITH STATE OF CALIFORNIA REGULATIONS FOR FOOD SAFETY AND INTEGRITY. I returned an item that was purchased through Instacart to Costco. I noticed the price of the item at Costco was $20 cheaper than I paid through Instacart. In subsequently learned that Instacart tacks on large sums to every item you purchase. And upon returning the item- I was unable to get the full amount I paid on Instacart returned to me. I was only able to get the amount that the item actually costs. (Which was $199) not the amount that Instacart actually charged (which was $220) me for the item. Total scam!
Warning: these sorry@$$ people are scam artists at best! I worked for a few hours and decided that it's a complete waste of time " doing a full shopping for 3 people " then the 2nd customer turned up missing " then had to take even more time to return the groceries " another 30 minutes. Not to mention my gas that's $4.11 a gallon. Plus delivery " insta cart GPS is all screwed " so, I told them I quit and pay me. So, they took me out the app " will not let me get into it and to continue to get my money " and they refuse to pay me. I just filed a complaint. And going to the NYS dept of labor tomorrow " today is Sunday " and file another complaint against them through another agency. I'm gonna do whatever it takes to stop them from doing business in the STATE of NEW YORK ever again!

I chose ‘pick up from store' for my first order with instacart to dismiss the shipping charges, but the added the ‘delivery' fee anyway, so I cancelled my order. What a scam.
I do love instacart most of the time. However I've noticed lately instacart has been scamming me. I'll click and order that says 5 miles away. I finish shopping and hit gps to fekiver and it'll jump to 10-15 miles away. And it makes me mad. Because then I have to get back to stores once I'm done causing a 20-30 mile trip for like $15 or less. I just got tricked to doing 30 miles for $14 $10 insta cart and $4 customer. Only to have customer take away tip once delivered.
I called to complain and even tried to file a disputed for money and they refused. Instacart said I was paid correctly for the trip.
Lately I've come to realize I'm only taking ones from now on with bigger batch money than tip. Because people keep taking away tips because items are out of stock. I work so hard on these I go above and beyond I keep contact with all customers.
And to answer soem questions from this thread. For those saying nobody took your order and you've waited hours and then canceled. If the batch pay isn't good and the tip isn't good and you have 30+ items and a long dive from store to your house, news flash nobody wants to take it. Is shoppers don't have to take your order it'll just sit in the app. If you only tip $3 for 50 items and live 4+ miles or more away nobody's going to take it. That's maybe an hour to shop nobody wants to make $13 an hour lmao would you? No. We could be completing shorter batches and making more by the hour.
Ok ~ gonna whine here for a minute ~ I cannot drive and have Instacart to delivery my groceries. I'm so very sad. There has been 2 that deliver my order correctly and the rest have not. *sigh* I try and not purchase too much stuff in an order so it won't be screwed up. Sadly this doesn't work either. I use Kroger. I've tried calling and have gone through every channel I can think of. I'm not sure of what to try next ~ I'm at a loss. Kroger is the only grocery store in my area. Thank you all for reading this ~ perhaps it'll give you some insight on what to choose.
They've always given me good customer service. I've been a weekly customer for several years. Sometimes the shopper gets an item wrong or ignores my messages, but instacart has generally done a good job of taking care of it
I didn't cancel my membership within 15 days so they won't refund my money. I'm unhappy with the service but they expect me to pay for the whole year and keep my membership. They'd rather have angry, unsatisfied customers.
On Sept 4,2021 I went to get my curbside pickup. While parked in designated pickup area, I received a message saying I wasn't there. After waiting an additional 15+ minutes, I left. I have spoke with Instacart several times trying to get a refund for groceries I never received. I have emailed the company trying to get my total refund amount. Instacart has lied to me & given me the run around since this issue first happened. It is now October 12,2021. They claim they have given me a full refund, this is not true. Don't trust this company, don't use this company.
We have used Instacart throughout the pandemic. For the first time, I checked the receipt from the supermarket and found it to be $81.20. Instacart had charged us $101.95 before the tip was included. When I wrote them for an explanation, they refused to answer. Five times they sent back the same form email directing us to the supermarket website for details…which had no answer to my question. What a scam! We were regular customers but will never use them again.
I am NEVER using Instacart again, and I advise everyone else to avoid them. My girlfriend and I just arrived at an Air BNB, and we needed groceries. We waited FOUR freaking hours for our order, which was eighty dollars (even though they charged us one hundred dollars). Eventually, the order never came, and we had to cancel the order. At this time, everything closed, and we went to bed hungry. Thanks, Instacart. You screwed us over. Big time.
I am disabled and my mom is 92 years. I would get an email from Instacart for free delivery. Not true. I have been charged for one box being slightly heavier than the rest. After many calls to San Fran (home office), I was assured that the offers sent to me were valid. NOPE! I paid $ 49.00 extra for an $83.00 order. I am 0-3 in success with the PROMISE over the phone, the delivery is free they kept telling me. Last order a tip of 30 dollars was suggested and it took days to put back a "deposit' they took out of my bank for security. It is so crooked all together and if I was not disabled I would have NEVER subjected myself or any friend. Helpful customer service is not on their "script" they read to you, Time to diet mom!
Always missing items and now go out to our car to find a lovely note from one of there drivers now I am on vacation and never in my life had so many things come up missing they don't fix it all they do.is report back to the drivers so they can leave notes lmao what a time period we live in today to rip off a single mother
Cannot fulfill the simplest orders correctly and consistently deliver spoiled products…that's IF the product they charged you for even shows up at all! The company staff thinks that you should be overjoyed if they issue you a refund. They just don't get it! How do you refund a family's ruined meal because necessary ingredients are never delivered or arrive only ready for the trash can, unless you want to take a chance on poisoning your family for lunch or dinner…I don't. The last straw…after past deliveries including warm salad…perspiring cheeses…melted ice cream…defrosted vegetables and pizza…was to pay for twelve bagels and receive two. Shoppers that cannot even count past two?!? They never forget to charge for everything missing…nor do they have any support staff up to and including supervisors who can do anything except offer obviously bored lip service. Disgraceful! ALL of my shopping will be done through Amazon Fresh from now on, even though I have months to go on my non-refundable service plan. WHAT service? They don't know the meaning of the word!
Everytime I have order something through instacart. The shoppers send markdowns eventhough I am charged full price. I requested that instacart refund me the different, but they refused to. Their policy should be that they don't buy the markdowns.
I have been using Instacart for a few years now but lately I have been very unhappy with them. First, they keep sending shoppers to the same store I have asked not to be used because of outdated and spoiled items. Every now and then the shopper leaves the store receipt and I see how much more they are charging me. We do not get the benefit of sale prices. They give shoppers more than one order at a time to fill which frustrates the shopper to become overwhelmed. Sometimes my shoppers take hours to get my order which causes thawed food. I am looking for another service.
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
