This is the woooooooorst invention in the world.
They exchange stuff that i dont like, without telling me.
They put more stuff than i ordered, this is a mess.
Im sick at home and I thought buying groceries online will be a good idea, but NO. It was the worst decision of my life. I bought some gallons of water and many vegetables and fruits, they put everything separated, but in the delivery they unloaded the vegetables and fruits bags first and put all the gallons of water in top of them. My fruits and vegetables got destroyed, and I try to make an exchange and they said they dont exchange merchandise.
A totally mess. NEVER IN MY LIFE I WILL BUY AGAIN FROM INSTACART.
I have order instacart about 5 times, and I have to say it's really gone badly every time. I only ever get it when I'm super busy, so maybe I'm just being too critical. But it seems I always get replacements that really aren't the same thing- for instance, I ordered vanilla ice cream and they "replaced" it with orange sherbet. That is in no way equivalent.
Second none of my orders have ever been on time. Always at least an hour early or late. The latest one was over 4 hours late, and half of my stuff had been, surprise, "refunded" without my approval, which is code for just not in the bag. Left me in quite the spot.
All in 0/5 stars, would not recommend under any circumstances.
I used Instacart for one year and it was a total and complete let down. They advertise free delivery but then they apply a large "service" fee. When the drivers arrive, they also press you for additional tips. Expect to pay around $20 to $40 in fees and tips, so don't be fooled by the advertising of "free delivery with membership". AND, they automatically renewed me despite promising a notice beforehand. I think they realize that this price gauging will cause many to non-renew. Aside from the pricing, it has been frustrating that the inventory of your shopping is not updated so you can spend time selecting items that are not even available. It happened to me every time! Instacart's database is far behind the actual store inventory. It creates tons of replacements and missing items if you're planning meals. It was a bust for me every time.
I just used a pick up service with Kroeger where you order in advance and the grocery store bags your items and brings them to your car. A fraction of the price and you get what you want. Run from Instacart! I recommend you search better options.
Terrible service. Melted ice cream, substituted items which I did not want, an hour late on delivery, please... Never again will this service be used. I tried it in 2016 with the bad results but decided to give them another try in 2017. No change! Both times very pathetic service. Shop for yourself, you will be happier!
I ordered 24 bottles of Lurisia Sparkling Water and they provided a "replacement" without even asking me. They delivered 14 bottles of Santa Lucia and informed me they saved me $12. Well yeah, I could have saved even more if they had delivered only 1!
They continue attempts to charge me for a cancelled membeship. Even after I filed BBB complaint, Instacart responded saying no further attempts would be made to my credit card. Guess what, they made another attempt. I finally called Discover today and since I've done my best to stop Instacart, Discover will make sure the payment won't come off the card. I'm going to file a complaint against Instacart with the state attorney general's office.
When I called to let Instacart know my delivery was missing several items, they told me they could not replace them because they had been refunded. Now I have to spend my Sunday night at the grocery, which defeats the purpose of using Instacart. I'm trying Shipt and Amazon Fresh from now on.
Title says it all. Turns out, some grocery stores charge a premium to instacart users. Turns out instacart will sometimes lose your order and do nothing. They also consistently overcharge me for items and are A**HOLES about correcting it. I've had problems with literally every order. Including one time where the driver said he'd be back with something he forgot and never showed. Worst part? They won't cancel your membership early when you realize what a scam it is
I have been using Instacart for a while and have had problems a few times, but today was absolutely ridiculous! I ordered $188 worth of groceries. They were supposed to temporarily authorize the card for $225 but actually, they charged me $225 twice, on top of the charge for $188. I called and talked to a very rude woman who was very vague and said that the transaction team would email me. After waiting for quite some time, I called and demanded to speak to a supervisor. The (very rude and unhelpful) supervisor informed me that there was nothing he could do to help me, and that the transaction team would email me in up to 3 business days. IT IS FRIDAY! This is absolutely unacceptable! I do not have the money to just give them $450 without getting an immediate refund. This is a mistake that never should have happened, and the fact that they were rude and lacked any empathy about their mess up, and did nothing to get my money right back to me is completely unacceptable. I am now out $450 until they can get my money back to me at their leisure. Worst customer experience I have ever seen. Absolutely furious! I use Instacart because I don't have a car, not because I'm some rich person who likes to throw away money.
Overcharges for items themselves even though one pays for delivery and tips.
Walmart Grocery charges the exact same price for each item that you pay in store and does not allow their employees to accept tips.
So Instacart and Publix are ripping off customers to the maximum and these needs to stop. Prices need to be the same as in store and then the customer would pay for delivery and tips but having the prices on items jacked up immensely should be illegal.
This service is a rip off! I was over charged by $65.00 Dollars over the store receipt.
I called and emailed them, they were suppose to get back to me and of course they never did!
Lies about what forms of payment they accept, charges a premium for items well above what the grocery store charges, spams you with emails no matter what your communication preferences are set to. If Prime Now is available to you then it is a better choice than this trash.
They just flat out ripped me off. They changed the weight of the fruit I bought. When I contacted them they said that I was mistakenly given the publix receipt that showed the correct weight of the fruit, it doesnt match what I was billed
I suspect this company is more interested in immediate profits than in customer service. Shopping staff is fine. But there is no training at all--fresh fruit and frozen items have been placed in the same bag! Also, they don't give employees carts for the deliveries. So if you have a $200 order, they need to walk to a vehicle, then walk to the apartment multiple times. Convenient, but uncaring.
I was charged $14.89 for three chicken breasts that had been marked down at the store to $6.98 due to the expiration date. Other items totaling over $20.00 were also overcharged. I sent pictures of the chicken and the receipt to Instacart at their request when I initially complained and was told they would get back to me. When they didn't respond, I called them and Jonathan told me "that's how we make our money". Don't waste your money!
What a disappointment. Ive used instacart for over a year and never realized they were up charging me in every single purchase.
The last purchase came in with a paper receipt (by accident). My surprise was that the paper receipt was for $15 less than the instacart charge on my checking account. When I called, they said that is their pricing policy. Basically you get an estimated price on their app. They pay the true price at the store, but charge you their own price. Wow. So disappointed. Cancelled my subscription today. I dont do well with dishonesty and unclear rules.
They missed several items on my very first order, and will only give a coupon for reimbursement, instead of doing the right thing by REFUNDING the missed items to my cc. Could not get the refund taken care of using their website... you have to call them and wait on hold just to get YOUR money refunded. Man on phone was very rude and kept interrupting me when i was calmly explaining my situation. They have no interest in hearing about your bad experience. Good riddence
Whoever came up with this business idea is ignorant, dishonest and downright stupid. You can't get away with stealing. The secret to making a decent living is making sure it is worth it for everyone!
Rude customer service $#*! representative I hope gets fired. Never again! My grocceries came didnt answer Not worth my money. Foodkick and fresh direct best customer service ever I'll stick with them.
The only plus was the driver, who was so friendly and cool! The rest was a joke! I spent hours trying to place an order, because I don't like any of their market choices. I live in Los Angeles, and prefer the freshness and prices the ethnic markets offer, all of which blows Whole Foods away! So I was stuck at home after my dog was hit by a car and required almost all of my attention. I went online to order, and it took a while to navigate the selections, but I finally managed an order I could live with, even though the price was way higher than I'd pay for fresher, locally. When I went to place it, I saw the service charge, which prompted me to google it and learn that there's a way to change the service charge to a tip, but you have to click (how deceptive of instacart!) in order to switch the service charge to a tip that goes to your driver. Not cool! I clicked and changed it and tried to place it, but it would not go through. So I called, and the lady said she could just do it over the phone. I asked her if it would be exactly like I placed it, and she assured me that it would. Well, wouldn't you know the final bill reflects she changed the tip back to a service charge, which goes to the company to distribute amongst all of the employees. Not cool. Pay your people who make your pockets greener, and it's not the shoppers! Pay your workers! Pay your drivers! They are worth it because they make your company! Were it not for your shady website, I'd be ordering again from you because the driver was so cool. But your company and it's deceptive website are the reasons I won't be ordering again, plus the fact that the stores you offer put out Made In China packaged junk, which makes Whole Foods a far cry from the Mrs. Gooch's it once was!
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
