Don't Waste Your Time
October 24, 2018

I have tried Instacart on several occasions. I finally deleted the app tonight and will NEVER use them again. I have received rotten fruit, milk that expires in a couple of days and the final straw was when my last order never arrived. I had to call to find out why. There was no offer to fix the problem. I told them to cancel the order and that I would never use them again. The rep on the phone could have cared less. Save your money.

Instacart has terrible customer service and shady dealings! The person getting the groceries chose items on the app that were more expensive than what he actually chose and I ended up paying more to instacart than the delivery person actually paid. After reviewing my receipt I noticed this and called their customer service. They did nothing to help me and just said I signed an agreement to pay what the app/website says I owe. That's fine, but when the delivery person marks that he bought a name brand product and delivers the store brand CHEAPER version to me, the difference should be refunded! I will not use again and do not recommend!

I have used instacart a few times with no problem - but the last two times - two Sundays in a row the shopper did not use my Advantage card (savings card for Price Chopper) But must have used their own card or a store card - The reason I found out is I got all the sale prices on my items but not my gas points which is why I shop at Price Chopper - They are doing triple points right now so every dollar counts - Since Instacart will not give you a paper receipt - cause I would have seen it not on their - I found out when I went to buy a single item at a different Price Chopper and the cashier said oh you have $1.25 off your gas and I said that can't be right I had that much off 2 weeks ago - I called the store they shopped for me at and they had no record of my Advantage card being used - When I called Instacart to get this resolved a very rude man named Danny told me he was the supervisor and that they could not help me and that the shoppers do not have to use your card- So basically it is ok to spend my money for the groceries and your shoppers can use their own Advantage cards and get the gas savings for themselves- That's stealing and it is wrong - I was told sorry lady we can not help you - worst customer service ever! Beware of these people!

I do not recommend this company. They are never on time. I am always told no longer then 2 hours and always end up waiting 4 hours or more. I could go to the store myself and be back less then an hour. This is a waist of money and time.

System glitching, extra charges and horrible customer support! Seriously, ghetto level customer service. Their system was constantly glitching while I was trying to put my orders two days in a row. It was changing fees, adding charges, automatically enrolling and uninrolling me into their Express membership. My banking statement has 4 additional extra charges, all together for $143 instead of $38. But on top of a system mulfunction the guys at the customer service did poor job at trying to resolve it or at least attempt to understand what was going wrong, they were completely impolite communicating with me and refused to refund! I would really recommend saving your money and time and ordering your food somewhere else.

Instacart works for Publix in Poincianna Florida - Publix is a great store while instacart took out more money then my bill was - the person who delivered my food also sent me a text and placed things in my cart in place of what I originally wanted without my approval, charged me more money and they took out much more than I paid for... called and spoke with TEA a rep at instacart who spoke to me like I was a child she is very unprofessional and told me they take extra money out of peoples account to make sure there is enough - usually in the past they ask me and there is a communication with the shopper... this is a scam go to the store and spend and be in control of your own money... I am waiting for them to release the hold they put on my account so I can pay my water bill

I'm yeah. I had a girl knock on my door and just leave the bags at the front door. Did not even say goodbye after leaving them. You know I've had quite a few different people deliver to me and some are good and send more bad but to be honest this stupid inconsiderate and rude delivery people or of a certain race. That's why no one wants to hire him

I'm only taking the time to write this so nobody else uses this awful service. We ordered groceries at Noon - to be delivered in two hours. The shopper got most of our groceries wrong and the Instacart app wasn't working so we couldn't communicate with them to make changes. We called customer service and after 30 minutes on hold, they said sorry, but our groceries would be to us soon. Long story short, they never arrived. All communication was shut down. They charged us for everything and finally today I was able to talk to someone and they said they cancelled the order on their own without talking to me. It's just the worst service all around. Please avoid using it and go shopping on your own or try Shipt - a wonderful option.

I tried instacart for the first time since hurricane Michael shutdown Walmart grocery pick-up service first of all the prices are outrageous and nobody would ever continue to shop with the prices that they charge on instacart but I did need some items and my mother is in hospice and I couldn't leave her so I did get 20 items out of those items five were substituted four items that cost way more and I was not given a choice and I was not given a receipt I will never use this service again

The bad: 1. The shoppers regularly get the orders mixed up in various ways. 2. The prices are ridiculously high for the service you're provided. 3. Their customer service people seem to think their job is to spout customer-service-speak, not help you with the mistakes their shoppers make. 4. Sometimes even if you say you don't want a replacement if something is out of stock, they replace it anyway.

The good: 1. Their drivers seem like nice people. 2. There's a variety of stores to order from (all overpriced of course).

The verdict: In a pinch, when I REALLLLLLLY can't get to the store, I may continue to use Instacart. Otherwise, I'm going to the store -- it saves me the annoyance of dealing with these people! (P.S. I also sometimes use Vons delivery, who so far have never gotten an order mixed up. But it doesn't have all the health-food items I'm interested in.)

Delivered produce about ready to expire, substitutions that are in no way substitutes. Poor communication and basically being told no refunds. I have tried this service with CUB foods- in theory it's a great concept. However, my experience with quality and communication has been a nightmare. I will go back to Lunds/Byerlys. Where the produce is top and customers are valued.

Not worth it!

Short sweet and to the point... Terrible customer service! They up prices on almost everything! You may get "free delivery" but you still get charged for service fees! If you use this, be sure to check your receipts every time, write down what your order is before you hit done! They'll change $#*! after your delivery! Then not refund you! My last order went from 220 to almost 262, including our tip! It's a joke and a rip off. You do not get the stores prices you get their prices! They're always "out of stock" on most items I've tried ordering! Now I don't know if this is just laziness on the shoppers end or if it's true, but it was every single order I placed there were way too many items that had to be replaced or refunded, and still did not get refunded to my account! The only advantage are the shoppers themselves. All of my shoppers were always on time, very nice and always messaged or called me if there were issues. But as far as the business themselves, pricing, items and customer service, not good at all! NOT WORTH THE HASSLE! I'll stick to doing my own shopping over dealing with this every time I need to place an order!

I have used them three or four times. In the past they had the shopper send a text asking whether a particular replacement was acceptable. Last week when I ordered the shopper sent texts saying items had been replaced. By the time I saw the texts, within 15 minutes of their having arrived, I couldn't get through to anyone at the store or Instacart by text to let them know I didn't want the replacements chosen. They were items I would not use and were more expensive than what I had ordered. I then got a message that my order was complete. I called the Instacart help line and the person was not only unhelpful but rude. She kept saying I could call them later to address the problem but that I should have clicked on the "do not replace" option. She told me to refuse the items when the order was delivered. I did that and the delivery person said they were going to refund the two items. That was over a week ago and they have not done so. Terrible customer service. In fact, they usually only find about half of the specific items I have ordered which never happens to me when I shop myself. This service was a total waste of the membership fee and high service fee. I will be canceling it and don't recommend it to anyone.

They jack up the prices of items, items that even have another price labeled on them such as deli lunch meat. When asked about this they robotically send you a link to read. They ignored my concerns about a wrong item on multiple occasions. In addition to charging higher prices than the actual in store prices there's a service fee that is based on your total... absolutely scam. Terrible customer service, complete lack of care for customer and lack of common sense.

I love instacart. If your items are on sale at wegmans they will give u the difference of the sale price as a credit on your next instacart order. If your shopper forgets to scan your shoppers club all you have to do is call instacart and they will apply the credit to your account for your next order. Many many times especially in bad weather instacart has been a life saver especially saves me from taking the little ones out in freezing weather.

I loved the service at first but as you use it more the prices go up. There is more fees each time. Also, I made an order based off my store prices but instacart makes their own. My chicken was on sale for 7.64 and they charged me 19.84. They did not care to reimburse me or admit that was wrong. I spent 56 dollars extra in groceries, had a delivery charge of 9.99, tip, and a service fee of 10.00 I suggest not using this service and using a pick up at another location or another delivery service. Walmart has been the best for us. It is free, the time slots are super open, and they always have what I need and best part... I can get the sale price! No more instacart here!

I ordered groceries through Instacart. I chose a delivery window between 11-12. I got notified that my delivery was running late due to waiting for an item, and they wanted to know what they could do to make this right for me. They were very apologetic. I appreciated them notifying me and i waited for my grocery's. The surprise blessing came in my bank account a day later when I realized they had refunded me for my full grocery amount because they had felt bad that my order was an hour late. I can't express how thankful and blessed I feel. This blessing could not have come at a better time. I'm a single mom, trying to climb the ladder to build a strong financial future fir me and my kids and sometimes it falls short. God always has a hand in every situation and this is one if the many! Thank you!

I had $97.94 in iTunes charges last week. I called my bank and told them I had possession of my card but I never purchased anything from iTunes. They cancelled the card and gave me a credit for the unauthorized transactions. They sent me a new card. I used Instacart three days ago. Today, I had two more attempts from iTunes to use my new card number. I have only had this new card 5 days and this is the only merchant I used with both the new and old card. There's a data breach somewhere

Don't bother!

I placed my first order and after the delivery waa confirmed i was sent an email saying my order was canceled and my account was being investigated for fraudulent activity. Makes no sense. I email back saying it's my account and tp deliver my order and no answer a whole day later. I'll look for another delivery service. This company sucks
