Indeed has a rating of 1.5 stars from 978 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Indeed most frequently mention customer service, small business and employer account. Indeed ranks 132nd among Recruiting sites.
Pay per click! Warning, this organization is as deceitful as we have dealt with for finding qualified people our business. It's quite the coincidence that a sales rep from Indeed contacts us when our "budget" is almost used up. How many times has he clicked on our ad? I requested a listing of the individual IP address that clicked on our ad and we were refused that information. I asked how many different IP addresses were clicking on our ad and we were told that Indeed.com does not have the capability to determine that. That is an outright lie because that is one of the most basic stats in looking at web traffic. My only conclusion is that indeed has their sales reps clicking on ads to raise revenue. It's a common practice and an illegal one at that. You are better off posting an ad through ebay or Craig's List. Just a word of caution, stay away.
I know it goes by the job posting and the pay levels projected, but I was a little frustrated not knowing how, and why, charges were being billed? The way the "Daily Billing / Max" that I set didn't seem to be followed and even though someone tried to explain how the charges were calculated per view, per day... It was very random feeling. I got people applying but just a couple that met what I said was a must have (i. E. 3 years experience) but still get charged. Overall, might use again but really would like to know how the jobs are being shred when I'm paying.
We have been hiring through indeed for over 2 years as paid user. Suddenly, we have received an email saying
"One or more of the jobs you posted to Indeed.com was deemed not consistent with Indeed's quality standards. At this time your employer account has been disabled and you will not be able to post any additional jobs to Indeed.com."
And our account was disabled.
I wonder why our account can be disabled with no concrete reason. We have been posting the same job ad for the last 2 years... This is going to come up as an issue today?!
I wonder what is does indeed mean by "not consistent with Indeed's quality standards", but one thing we can now be sure, indeed's service is not consistent enough for business purpose.

I'm a recruiter that was looking to hire multiple people for my company. Had my account disabled for no reason even though I'm still being charged for the account. Zero customer support whatsoever, no phone number, just a pathetic contact form that "might" be responded to if they resolve the issue. Unbelievable. Would never recommend this company at all. Use the other job boards out there.
No games with this one-they find the jobs and bring it to you. Only problem is when it finds words that may be used in more than one type of job ie.-hardware may be tools that carpenters use or computer terminology. But this is a minor problem compared to other engines I have found.
Barely used this and charged my company 220.41 and I think we got like total of 10 resumes and interviewed 3. Way overpriced. Nowhere to file a complaint looked everywhere for a phone number or email all they have is this 1-800 number that useless. My boss is very angry at me for using this company and the cost. Will not use again.
Hi Jennifer, we're sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience with Indeed. If you are still looking to hire for this position, we'd be more than happy to take a look at your job title and description and offer any suggestions to help attract the candidates that you are looking for. We'd also like to apply some click credit on your account for you to advertise the position. If this is something that you would be interested in, please message us directly through the SiteJabber platform. Thank you.
I set up a profile and created a job posting only to find my account disabled because "they couldn't verify we were a legitimate business." I assume this is because we are a small rural business with a PO Box that works directly with companies and therefore have never had a reason to have a web presence. After I appealed the decision and submitted the appropriate paperwork as requested I only got back generic automated emails about how I had plenty of time to submit so I called multiple times, the poor people on the phone have apparently zero training and couldn't tell me anything about why the paperwork submitted was rejected even though it was exactly what was asked for.
I have been attempting to get this straightened out for over a week and only get "oh just resubmit or I will send a note to the internal team" and then never hear back. There is no manager to speak with apparently and the enteral team doesn't accept calls.
It has been a truly terrible experience.
I have been trying to use indeed however they keep making my jobs invisible and despite me making the required changes they make you wait weeks while they review. Customer service is useless. What a shambles they are
Hi Perry! We would love to look into this further, please check your private messages and reply when you have a moment. Thank you!
I am an individual with a physical disability and have been using Indeed for several years to hire personal assistants / caregivers. Indeed keeps disabling my employer account and providing NO explanation as to why. I appealed and received a rejection saying " this is a final decision. No further action is required on your part. No additional details regarding this decision will be provided." Indeed is a monopoly and appears to be cherry picking. But why? This feels like blatant systemic ableism and discrimination! Providing no details for why my account is in their eyes "unsuitable." I have paid them hundreds, by now thousands of dollars over the years to sponsor ads, and now they cut me off? What's "unsuitable" about a person with a disability hiring assistance? And why suddenly, after several years of using their services as a loyal customer? This feels political, and it is highly unethical. It looks like they are doing the same thing to small businesses.

I recently used this website to make a review about the company I'd worked for. Much to my surprise, some time later I discovered that my review was removed or kept hidden obviously because it was so critical. At the same time the site denied my attempt to write another review notifying me that I'd already placed one... Also, I noticed that the number of positive reviews increased tremendously compared to what I'd seen a short time ago. I trust they play up to the company I criticized... This is why I do not think the Indeed.com should be trusted.
We are a long-standing customer of Indeed who have paid for sponsored ads for many years. We are a care home and, like many others are suffering financially during the current crisis. We decided on this occasion not to sponsor an advert for a desperately needed nurse. Indeed now have a policy of mandatory sponsorship for particular job titles. Unbelievably, a registered nurse is one of those titles. This company are cashing in on a pandemic and leaving employers like us no choice but to spend money that we need to reserve for taking care of our vulnerable residents. Indeed are disgusting. I hope the press are informed.
Hi Amy, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We know times are tough right now for everyone and we're here to help as much as we can. We were able to review your account and discovered the job is requiring sponsoring due to the older publication date. Feel free to follow up with us in the private message we sent you. We look forward to assisting you.
For the last several years, I have spent thousands of dollars using indeed.com to find employees. Recently, I discovered that an ex-employee left wrote a negative review about our company and that is the only review about us! I called to verify why this was permitted as I spend a great deal of money on their site and they said anyone with a resume submitted could do that. Of course, typically only the bitter ones do! It has been over a month that I have requested assistance and been ignored. They are not the company they used to be; they got too large and now they are all about profit without any customer service whatsoever.
I am pretty sure that the whole thing is a scam. Every single Indeed potential employee that has contacted me through email has not shown up for the interview that they have scheduled. I can see that happening once or twice but 8 times in arrow?! I also noticed they all have Gmail address. Funny thing is I am out the fees they charge and my time wasted waiting for no one to show up. If this is not there scam they what can do to screen these people better

Getting our current open listings posted on the site was very easy. User friendly site & pulls in candidates that might be of interest.
Only slight "con" would be not hearing back from candidates. Several submitted their resumes - we responded and requested them to fill out an application - but we never heard from them again. Most likely to do with the candidates not the site.
Thank you for your feedback! Let us know if there's anything we can do to help.
I own a recruiting firm that has been in business for over 14 years. I recently decided that we needed to hire recruiters to help us deal with a large backlog of open roles we have with our clients. I tried to set up an account and was informed that Indeed had blocked our firm from ever doing business with them! They refuse to provide us with any explanation and said there is no avenue for review! The representatives I spoke with were dismissive and rude and frankly I have never been so disgusted.
Hi Daniel, we've responded to your review by private message.
I am a small company that was needing to hire a service manager. I placed the ad on a Wednesday and promoted it with a budget of about $75 per day. My ad was fairly specific (Pool Service Manager) in its requirements and of the responses I got, about 25% were plausible candidates. I paid about 30 cents an impression I think on average. The site must be pretty dead on the weekdays, cause my spend was in the single digits, but went to the budget on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Overall, this was my first foray into an organized board. We'd used Craigslist before but it's such a disorganized zoo. I thought about Monster but it was more expensive and this got us viable candidates at lower cost.
One final thing I liked was the ability to have the candidate answer up to 3 questions when submitting online. We used these for quick screening questions.
I've been using indeed for the day I paid for it... everything went great started to build our remote team as I was instructed by my executive... I got 7 viable employees already and the suddenly they disable the account, no reason, nothing... I was sticking to the rules... I've checked everything please help indeed love your platform can I use it please.

With no warning our account has been disabled. After 7 years, thousands of pounds a month advertising via Indeed in the UK and USA and our account is shut down with no reason. Its been 4 days- no update, no reasoning? We have now lost money, had to push back a new campaign launch due to NO candidates and had to pause a separate Geo campaign we have running jointly with Glassdoor/Indeed. (More fool us). No one seems to be able to help us? Terrible service. Do your research.
Hi Bonnie, taking a further look into this, we can confirm that the account holder is in direct contact with the dedicated representatives assigned to the account in question. They will continue to assist the account holder with this issue. Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback.
I opened a business account and it was been disabled. This was very disturbing to me. I left a negative review on sitejabber after I sent an email to Indeed. I did not really give them sufficient time to respond as I was upset. They did reply to my complaint and my original email within hours and the account was re-enabled first thing the following morning. They explained that sometimes it takes longer to verify new business etc. (which I understand and have no issue with) and until then they disable the account. Maybe that explanation initially would have prevented me getting so bothered by having my account "disabled" before it ever even went live. However, the fact that it was resolved in such a quick manner leads me to retract my initial review and give them 5 stars. I have also had 12 candidates interested in the position that was posted. Several interviews this week. I highly recommend Indeed!

We are using Indeed for more than 2 years and all of a sudden our account got disabled. Tried reaching Indeed POC via various channels, but they are not even bothered to solve our issues while our business is on stake. May be since they are a well grown company, so they dont even care for the customer support that they are required to provide. Really disappointed with Indeed.
Hi Chirag, thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. To clarify, it is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. At this time, we can confirm your account is active and your account managers have already reached out to you directly to further assist you with any account-related issues.
Answer: Hello Anita, positions posted for free stay on Indeed for a total of 120 days. Sponsored positions can stay on the site until an employer has filled the job and closed it on Indeed.

Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
