Indeed has a rating of 1.5 stars from 978 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Indeed most frequently mention customer service, small business and employer account. Indeed ranks 132nd among Recruiting sites.
We are looking to hire some new potential employees, much like the rest of employers around the country, and without any explanation, our account was disabled and our job posting was taken down. I haven't heard anything back in regards to why, and after reading the other reviews of businesses, I see that we are not alone in this issue.
I just started a new business and posted a job looking for employees only to be instantly blocked and given no reason why. My post followed all requirements and I can't believe as a new and small business they just instantly block.
UPDATE:
Indeed still has me jumping through hoops to get my account enabled again even after giving them the supporting documentation they requested. I've had no answer and they continue to give me unclear reasons as to why my account has been disabled and what I need to do to enable it. This is the most unprofessional and frustrating service for a new business looking to hire employees.
Hello Joe, thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with us. A member of our team has responded to your review by private message. Please follow up with us there so we can further assist.
I have been given the run around by customer service for days now. They will not return phone calls and refuse to be of any assistance. They are only allowing our ads to run in their sponsored section but not in the general advertising area under our newest account. I only discovered this because of the poor results we are receiving. We have 3 other companies under different accounts that we have been running ads in the sponsored and general ad sections with great results. Since they refuse to help with this one account I am pulling all 4 accounts and refuse to ever do business with them again.
Hi Craig, we’re sorry to hear that your experience with Indeed has been negative. We submitted your account details to the Indeed Search Quality team and they determined that the type of opportunities you are offering, free cell-phone distributor positions, are not suitable for the free search results section on Indeed. To mediate this, we have applied $100 of free clicks to your account to offer you help with sponsoring your jobs on Indeed. If there is anything else we can do to help here, please reach out to us directly at sitejabber@indeed.com.
I posted a job and sponsored it. I went to check in on it today and found out that my account has been disabled. Indeed did not contact me to let me know this. My job posting is no longer up, and as far as I know it hasn't been up for days. No reason or cause was given to me.
To add to this, I tried to contact Indeed thru the employer support center. The page that asks "What best describes you?", "what do you need help with?", and "briefly describe the issue" is not letting me press "continue." I have tried on multiple browsers. There is no help phone number available or email address I can contact directly. I am a paying customer who has zero access to customer support. My only hope is to post here.
I've used Indeed before successfully at my old company. I am in disbelief that this is how I am treated. This is absolutely unprofessional.
Hello Shira, we're very sorry to hear you've had a negative experience with Indeed. We have reached out to you directly through email to assist further. Thank you.
I have added two different reviews for two different companies and they did not post them. I suspect that since the reviews were not favorable, it might in some way cause loss of revenue for indeed. I have to guess that indeed.com would rather steer clear of the truth about a company than risk being sued. Don't believe the reviews on the site as they have been hand picked by indeed.com.
This is a company that charges huge sums for advertising. The same place that advertises your opening reviews your job from the disgruntled ex employee standpoint. The website is similar to a blog that any body can chat about. There are no credential that they follow.
We recently had a candidate schedule an interview that she immediately left after getting our email. Turns out she wanted to reach out to us via email to sell her products. No interest in the job just out email. There is no security. Sad part is there are no good competitors.
Hi Jim, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Indeed is a self-serve website where you're able to choose your own job budget. We work on a cost-per-click model and the higher the budget you choose the closer to page one you get. In regards to company page reviews, Indeed removes reviews that do not align with our guidelines. We have an entire team dedicated to the moderation process of this. Any reviews that are not removed, employers have the option to respond publicly as the company. You can review our company page review guidelines here http://www.indeed.com/cmp/_r/content-guidelines.
We have used Indeed for several years, with spending last year of £50k.
Our account has been suspended with no further job postings... Why? No detail, no assistance!
No-one to speak to. Just a decision!
We have looked through the 76 pages of terms and conditions... really!
Surely, speak to the business, highlight the issue. I cant imagine what the issue is.
Hi Theo, thanks for reaching out. To provide some clarity, all accounts and jobs on Indeed are subject to our standard rolling reviewing process that can occur at any time. Our team has concluded that Indeed will be unable to show your openings in our search results and the account will remain in its current disabled status. In addition, Indeed does not allow non-job postings. This includes, but is not limited to, jobseeker fees, training and education opportunities, multi-level marketing opportunities, volunteer jobs, franchising opportunities, jobseeker employment solicitation, expired jobs, and jobs which do not represent a specific employer vacancy. Indeed always retains the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This decision is irreversible and final. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have urgent hiring needs, we highly suggest utilizing other hiring services.
Indeed suspended my employer account and won't let me post any positions. I am a recruiter who helps other companies post and fill positions. I also spend a monthly fee for resume searches. They suspended my account with no warning and of course I can't reach anybody to either discuss this or try to remedy the situation. I am helping a company fill entry level positions and yet they do this with no notice. They are willing to take my monthly fee though. I am so dissatisfied with their customer service and their lack of actually working for small businesses.
Hi Latha, all accounts and jobs go through our standard reviewing process before they can become fully active on our site. This review can happen to accounts that were previously active as well. We take the security of our job seekers very seriously, this review is designed to protect our job seekers and employers and ensure a high level of quality in our search results. That is what you encountered and at this time, we can confirm your account is active, we do apologize for any inconvenience.
We have been using Indeed for more than 3~4 years so far without any issue (we are a paid customer and run a completely lawful business in the UK). Today Indeed suddenly disabled our account without any reason and they also rejected our appeal without any specific reason.
We have a lot of hiring in progress and a lot of interviews being scheduled, now all those communications with the candidates have been cut as our Indeed accounts are disabed. This is ridiculous!
Hi Tao, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. All accounts on Indeed go through a standard reviewing process. This review can happen at any time as well. Unfortunately, Indeed has fully reviewed your account and we are unable to show your listings on the site. Indeed or Publishers may reject or remove any Job Ad, and Indeed may disable any Employer’s account, for any or no reason without notice. Although Indeed may indicate why a job or account has been removed or disabled, we cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. If you have urgent hiring needs, we recommend utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
I used Indeed well over 5 years ago to look for a job and found it to be very useful. I don't recall if I found a job through them or not but do remember that I did like the service and was able to navigate through their site with ease. I know that every site is not going to be liked be all so you just have to give it a try and see if they work for you or not.
Hi Eva, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! We're so happy you are having a great experience on Indeed!
I have applied to over 100 jobs through indeed.com, and only got one email from a employer! I believe indeed.com waits a month before posting jobs for employers. This website should be SHUT DOWN & FINED for wasting people's time.
Over the past couple of weeks, it has been a lot of struggle. Even though we have been using indeed for the past 1 year but now they keep on disabling our employer account. And the reason they give every time is that your post doesn't fulfill the quality standards or your account is not verified even though all the processes are complete and the account is verified as well. We have appealed every single time but no use. Even if we get the account back zero resumes are received for the job post. This behavior is beyond understanding and has been a continuing frustration for us.
Hi Abdullah, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. We have sent you a private message regarding this situation. Please feel free to follow up with us there.
I have sourced a few hires from Indeed, the site definitely allows for a good source of talent. It is a little difficult to filter through all of the applicants though. There also seems to be a lot of people who apply that do not fit the criteria, but that will inevitably happen and is the job of HR/hiring managers to identify good candidates from here.
The jobs that indeed sent me our scams, very in depth scams and I do NOT recommend using this site to find employment. They must sell our information to outside sources who take advantage and offer bogus jobs with offer letters, fake checks, and empty promises. Extremely disappointed and I tell everyone I know to stay away from indeed.
Hi Caroline, we are very sorry to hear about your experience while using Indeed. It’s our priority to protect the personal information of our users. We have sent you a private message to further assist.
I'm a job seeker looking for remote work. Indeed.com hooks you up with jobs from all kinds of industries, including remote work. Indeed allows you to personalize your job seeker experience, so that the right companies and industries find you.
Recently made an account for my new fabrication shop and posted 3 ads for hiring Metal Fabricators, Welders and skilled laborers for my shop opening up at the end of the month. I have a great deal of work to get done in a short amount of time and am in urgent need of hiring. Indeed is the #1 place to go for hiring in my city and there is not much for alternatives. I see so many other reviews like and am deeply troubled by this issue... hoping for a quick resolution and a chance to speak to someone that can show some empathy for myself, our applicants, and would be employees... HELP
Indeed did respond to my request for appeal but is asking for documents that at this time can't be provided, My shop is currently in the renovation phase and there are no utility bills to be had, and tax permits are not a thing in Canada
Hi Lance, we are very sorry to hear about this. All accounts on Indeed are subject to our review process and this process is designed to protect our job seekers and employers. We take the quality of the jobs appearing on indeed and the security of our users very seriously and occasionally we will require more details on a company before we can allow their job postings to appear on Indeed. I can see that you are already in communication with our Quality team, we would advise following up with them once you have the required documents available to you in order to complete the review.
With no prior advise and during a selection process that was really important to my small business account was deactivated and all people that applied is no longer visible and than reachable after payment completed. We would hire...
Hi Nicola, all accounts on Indeed are subject to a routine review designed to protect our job seekers and employers and also ensure a high level of quality in our search results. This is something we take very seriously and have teams dedicated to this effort. I can see a member of our team has already reached out to you by email to advise on the status of your Indeed account.
As an Employer I cannot respond to reviews. One reviewer said they worked at a position that we never had for a department that we never had. Of course the review was extremely negative. Mmm, competition flame anyone!
Have now had direct support from Indeed to investigate and resolve the issue. It now looks like our account has been enabled. A pity it took so long for this to happen, but thanks Indeed support for resolving once we were able to make contact.
Hi Charlie, we're happy we were able to work with you and get this issue resolved. If you ever need assistance in the future please don't hesitate to reach back out!
We worked with one of Indeed's sales people to start our recruitment campaign. Our model is similar to Uber and Deliveroo who also recruit on Indeed so we wanted to make sure we followed the terms of service correctly. Three weeks after being live Indeed disabled our account. As others have said, no explanation of what rule was broken, or any opportunity to fix it. The sales person who was only too happy to be on the phone two weeks ago has magically disappeared.
A real waste of the time and effort we put into working with Indeed. Poor employer experience.
I have been trying to use indeed for 6 months. I consistently get jobs that are the wrong profession. If you are a medical provider like an NP, PA, etc, they are not a great place to search. I get alerted all day to jobs that are medical in some way but never the right profession. I have updated my profile 3 times and the alerts never change. Go to donate or a mid level provider site. Do not use indeed.
Hello Dottie thank you for taking the time to share your experience. A member of our team has responded to your review by private message. Feel free to follow up there.
Answer: Hello Anita, positions posted for free stay on Indeed for a total of 120 days. Sponsored positions can stay on the site until an employer has filled the job and closed it on Indeed.
Answer: Hi Sarah, we're sorry you haven't heard back from employers when submitting your resume on Indeed. We'd be happy to assist you here in reviewing your resume and offering suggestions for applying to jobs on the site. Please email us at sitejabber@indeed.com with a link to your Indeed Resume or document so that we can review. Thank you.
Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
Answer: Hi Kristina, feel free to email our team at sitejabber@indeed.com with some additional details regarding your concerns and we'd be happy to take a look. Please be sure to reference this interaction in your email. Thank you.
Answer: Hi Irene, to explain, all accounts on Indeed go through a moderation process as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. If enough information is not provided when the account is being created or we find a violation of our guidelines, then the account will go into the appeal status. Based on your message, this is likely what you are currently experiencing. If you need assistance, feel free to email our team at sitejabber@indeed.com and we'd be happy to take a look.
