I was impressed with the fast delivery and completion. However, the videos have been auto-corrected too much. They are too dark and have a slightly reddish tint to them.
My father passed away and we found a bunch of 8 mm reel to reel and had them developed by imemories thinking they were of our childhood Christmases and birthdays etc… 12 of the reels were of a family and I don't know who they are. I wish I memories had the ability to provide a 30 second snippet of each reel to preview and then decide if I wanted them developed. The process is expensive and having these memories of people I don't recognize doesn't seem fair. I would also like to see an ability for you to improve the quality of the reels or VHS tapes sent in. My memories are accessible through their app that you can download to your smart TV. It's not intuitive and some more detailed instructions would be appreciated. It's nice that you can share these videos at no cost with friends and family via a link. There are a few videos that won't load in the TV app but play fine on my phone app and on my computer. I contacted customer service about this but she basically said it was an issue on my end and this has not been resolved.
Hi Layla, Thanks for your feedback. There is not an option to preview media with any company. In order to have a video customers could view, the full digital conversion of the media has to be done. This requires an extensive amount of work be done by several different departments before the videos are uploaded to your account. We do clean, repair and put the films through a color correction process to make the colors look natual when do the digital converstion. Any issues with videotapes such as tracking, jumpiness, needed repairs, and some audio issues are researched and reviewed. Our team will make adjustments, run the tapes multiple times through different equipment in order to get the best capture possible, based on the quality and condition of the original film or videotape.

We had 55 mini and compact DVDs of our children from the late 90s to 2012ish. We sent them in and had them digitized. It only took a couple of weeks and we were very pleased with the results. We downloaded them to several flash drives ( two for us and one for each of our adult children). Now, all of us have those special memories forever. It was something that we wanted to do for a very long time. We love them.
Some of the slides are 70+years old. It's really great to have them in a format where I can view them any time I want. They have all been added to various slide shows around the house.

I have been pleased with every step of the process. I am happy with the results as well. The only glitch was after I initially ordered my memory box, I got an email saying I hadn't completed my order. It was certain I had, but I assumed it was my mistake. I went back on the site and ordered the box. I ended up getting two boxes and being charged 1499 for each of them. Outside of that the entire process was perfection. Thank you.

I had some vcr tapes and 8mm tapes from the 90's and early 2000's. I found imemories while searching the web and decided to give it a go. The ordering process was simple and easy to understand. After placing my order, they sent me a box with packaging supplies to keep my tapes safe during shipping, as well as a shipping label that was included in the price. I packaged up my tapes, dropped the box off at a FedEx store, and could not believe how fast I received a message telling me my order was ready to view online. They do give you options to purchase hard copies, however I decided to receive mine in digital form so I could just download them myself onto my laptop and make my own hard copies. They did give me 30 days to access the digital copies to download, which was plenty of time for me. You also have an option to subscribe to a monthly subscription of cloud storage if you want to have online access to your videos beyond the 30 days. About a week after I received the message my videos were ready; they shipped my tapes back to me. To sum this up, I am very satisfied with imemories and highly recommend them!
I was a little confused at first as to what iMemories's was going to do with the photos and other things I sent to them. When I received everything back, I still was not sure of the next step. I received outside help to download my pictures so am OK with it all.

Hi Linda, Thanks for your feedback. When we do the digital conversion we can often help reduce tracking (gray lines through the picture), jumpiness and some audio issues. We can not however, add light to where it did not originally exist or make color corrections. If your video was recorded in low light/dark room the digital copy will also be dark.
