I found ifixit a couple of years ago through my job at Cornell and, since then, I've relied on it for information and solutions to all my Macintosh repair and troubleshooting issues.
They sent me two different screens. Both were broken and the second one blew my GPU. After bricking my phone, they refused to refund me for their faulty parts.
Ifixit has been a godsend. I've saved time and money by doing computer repairs myself. The instructions are easy to follow and the tools provided are inexpensive and high quality. Thank you, iFixit!
Tool did not work on an xps 13, only messed up the jack and the surrounding plastic. Will now need a professional service to remove the piece and hopefully save the headphone jack.
Fantastic as always! Ive been using ifixit for almost a decade now and they always have top-notch guides and parts, which come in a beautiful package as well!
It was so easy to replace my iPhone6 battery and screen. No instructions were included but it was easy to find what I had doubts about on other YouTube channels. Pleasant experience
Ive used iFixit for several battery replacements, and they always go really easy due to iFixits quality and informative information provided. They also have Great quality products.
An apple authorized repair centre was going to charge $750+CAD to fix a blown speaker in my MacBook Pro, a $30 replacement speaker and $30 ifixit tool kit and about 15 minutes is all it took to do this repair myself.
I ordered the replacement charging port for a friend's iPhone 5s that would not charge. The parts were exactly as described and the instructions provided on the website were exceptionally detailed.
Very easy to swap out with the kit. I'm up and running fast with the new upgrade. The instructions on the website were easy to follow. Worth every penny!
I found the parts and the repair guide to make my own repair. No one else had my parts and the prices were reasonable. The parts have a one year warranty also.
I purchased my MacBook Air part and I want return this part it prices $ 100 i call a lots of times but no reply and email me look like this ifixit frod company they Chet with customer not good service Thank you narendra Rana
Instead of buying a new phone or spending money on repairs, I can troubleshoot to see if problems can be fixed, how much my cost will be, order verified parts and tools, and then follow simple directions in both video and step by step webpages to perform the work myself. Parts can be cheaper other places, but if you order everything you need all at once the shipping is low and mostly covers the difference. Do you need to be super skilled? No, just patient with yourself learning new (and valuable) skills. If you have questions, every instruction page has comment, every step on the page has comments, every device has a forum, and they are all well moderated. I've replaced the battery and screen on my wife's iPhone 6s. The cheapest toolkit comes with excellent quality magnetic-tipped bits and tweezers. My best advice is to read, read, and read some more before, buying parts, actually starting the repair, and worrying that you did something wrong once you are done. Sometimes you just have to let the phone charge a little while before it will boot properly...
I have to say that I am disappointed. I wanted to love iFixit as a company, but after purchasing several MacBook batteries for them to replace my original one that failed, I can't say that these are quality products. I know that they just don't make things like they used to (I got very lucky in that my original mid-2011 battery lasted me for almost 8 years), but after initially buying a battery from them, it swelled up and died in less than a year. I contacted them and after running different tests, they promptly replaced it as they agreed it was defective/it was still under warranty. This was great! However, the replacement battery has now started to have issues after about a year and a half of use. I have done the same diagnostic tests that I did for my original one and can confirm I will indeed have to replace it again... But is this really life now? Will I just be buying replacement batteries every 1-2 years? I heard good reviews about this company and expected more. I don't feel it's unreasonable to expect a product to last more than 2 years, but if it is... yikes: -/
I bought a replacement part for the Pro Tech Toolkit before I read that the kit has a lifetime warranty for broken components. As soon as I called about it they refunded my order.
Easy Peasy! The only challenging part was the battery connector was a press fit from the top down. As soon as I figured that out, it was a breeze. My little computer booted right up!
I ordered two Chromebook batteries within a week of each other. Both came on time and perfect condition. Both of the batteries charged and have held their charge still the install.
I bought this to fix an Xbox one controller, I couldn't find the right size screwdriver anywhere, but I ordered this and it was great. Perfect size and was a high quality tool
Its scam and overpriced, i can buy same toolkit on AliExpress and cheaper under 20usd, i never see screwdrivers over 70usd only on "iscam it" i feel im on ebay
Great product, great tools, great guide, I don't got much else to say, but I have to fill 100 characters, but they are really great and I recommend them.
Answer: Their instructions cover each step in clear detail. All include photos and nearly all have video as well. Highly recommended!
