If you are signing up for id.me on your smartphone and use more than one mobile browser complete the entire process on your devices default browser. ID.me is compatible with Google Chrome. But in my experience the facial recognition step is not compatible with DuckDuckGo. I love all the security features in the identification process to verify it's you.

Spent most of the day trying to get ID pin after efiling my return was rejected for not having one. IRS had never sent me one. Have to upload photo (how?) or other id, verify id with video chat, still no number. BTW only have to efile a federal (no balance due or refund) to be able to efile state. Have been doing taxes since 1970, this is bs. Based on add'l details Last name & email better be private.
