The IRS forced me to use ID.me, and I'm really disgusted with the collaboration allowing the IRS to require things that they are otherwise not legally allowed to collect. Typical overreach, and disappointing that ID.me is a party to this. To make it more offensive, their verification system is unreliable. Be prepared to enter sensitive data again and again.
