The entire self-service feature is a joke. I downloaded my ID info twice, exactly as requested then it asked me for an additional ID saying they couldn't process the one I had provided. Then it disconnected me from my iPhone which I had to keep checking for codes and links to download photos and verify that I was the same person who had just punched in a code to verify my identity or downloaded photos of my IDs. And terms and conditions and privacy agreement - no way to opt out of the 100s of third party links they say they might share your PII with, because with the opt out service they link you to - the most significant links like Twitter and Amazon are unavailable. Then the video chat - which I had requested twice before it finally came up up. Audio didn't work on their end - I know mine was fine - so they had to call my phone to "chat". Linda from a Boston area code showed up on the screen and said she had to check my visage against the photo on my ID. Entire process took more than 90 minutes - and each time there was a problem I had to sign in again. And when I finally got access to IRS, it guided me to a window that said it had the data I needed, but then did not. I know Maximus had a breach of 100s of thousands of Medicare members PPI. I decided to talk to the agent because i would rather do that than biometrics. So after getting over the nerves i had because i was thinking i was going to have a long interview with some agent, I realized it was pretty easy! The longest part was waiting for the next agent (which was only maybe 1 to 2 minutes). Not bad for calling in afternoon. It was actually a lot easier and faster than i was expecting. However, it was so fast i was going to ask the agent a question but it was over with so quickly I never got the chance to.
