This is remarkable. It took a few minutes for a person who is not computer savvy, but it's worth the patience. I can hardly believe a person was available at midnight to do a zoom with me for proof of identification. The customer service representative was professional and patient. Now I can actually access my IRS information without having to call and wait for hours to speak with an agent, who gives me another number to call.
Previously my contact with ID.Me was not positive or productive. For several months I did not get my documents verified or my identity verified by this service, and I was not satisfied with the absence of helpful customer service. November 21,2023 I gave them a second try and they did come through for me with a video review team member who walked me through a complicated process. I got my documents and my Identity verified in the end. Credit where it is due, Great job!
One of the least pleasurable experiences I can recall! My overall impression is that the online verification system is both poorly designed and difficult to navigate - mostly because the part where they wanted me to photograph my documents with my cell phone never worked at all.
And the online document verification - have you ever filled in questionnaire where you had to pick from a bunch of responses - but none of the responses applied to you? They might work for 80% or even 90% of people, but you're out of luck if you're in the 10% to 20%. And there was no place to contact technical support to help resolve the issue.

Difficult for a 72 years old navigating between text, web, email and stored photos without getting disconnected and having to start over.
At first I was skeptical, but after reading the terms and privacy agreements and using it myself, I found this service quite convenient for verifying your identity. The facial recognition it a great feature.
I was nervous that I'd have to search through papers, emails and find odd numbers. That wasn't the case! Verifying my self was simple and fast. Very straight forward.

The instructions to use ID.me was very easy to follow. Non complicated steps. Each step of the way the explanation was simple and to the point. As when I went to my e-mail to verify it, I was instructed to go back to my other screen. I had no trouble or confusion in what the step was. Very satisfied. It only took a few minutes from start to completion.
I tried to do the selfie picture identity but after 6 times and no luck I tried the video. Perhaps I did selfie being afraid of being ask many questions but wasn't the case. It was fast and easy. Perhaps faster than the selfie.
